00:00Yeah, I wouldn't say it gives us an edge. Obviously we love playing in India, we love playing India.
00:07I think we've had some recent success in different formats, but I think us and India are looking forward to the series.
00:16First of all, obviously win the series, but have good prep leading into the World Cup.
00:21I guess for us it's playing a great team in similar conditions to what we're going to face in the World Cup.
00:28Yeah, in terms of prep, it's a great start.
00:36Good Arthur, Arthur.
00:39Arthur, it's been one city for you 10 years ago when you came here in the World Cup.
00:45It was a player of the match. So how are you looking for this wicket tomorrow?
00:51Personally, I hope it's similar to what it was 10 years ago, but I can't imagine it is.
00:57Yeah, no, it was great memories. I guess it was my first trip to India.
01:01Not really knowing what to expect, but turning up and playing in front of 50,000 World Cup, it was awesome.
01:08It's been the same every time we've come back. Everyone loves touring here. The fans are amazing.
01:14Every time you get to play in front of a massive crowd, it's what we do. It's why we play, I guess.
01:20Yeah, but I'd imagine the pitch will be pretty good going tomorrow.
01:25Mitch, the success that you had in the STV, the other one is a lot of it down to preparations and hard work.
01:33I'd like to know, is there more thought that you can do that?
01:36There's a lot of talk about how you can get the spirit of performance and speed combination and the spirit of general.
01:45What does that look like?
01:47Yeah, I think it's probably a combination of things.
01:49I think every time you come to India, you gain experience against a good team in all formats, in different conditions to what we're used to back home.
01:59But I think everyone that's been here, whether it was the test series, one-day series, apart from a couple of debutantes that have been here before,
02:06kind of know what to expect.
02:08I guess the teams who can understand conditions and wickets, the quickest, usually have a pretty good chance.
02:15I think just the amount of times we've been able to come in and, I guess, play India, try to perform in this country, it's been good.
02:23And I guess we've had some recent success, but I guess, you know, it starts again now.
02:27Obviously, the one days we're good, a great result, but the T20 series is a different series against a different team, I guess.
02:34We had the last five games heading into the World Cup, so as a unit, are there any specific areas that you would look at risk before heading into the event,
02:43with respect to settling combinations in duality and goods?
02:47Yeah, I guess it'll be the same for the Indian team.
02:50I guess you're trying to find your team that you want to put out on the park for the first game.
02:54I guess for us, we've got, you know, different guys coming in at different stages throughout the series, a couple of franchise guys.
03:00And so, yeah, and I guess you don't want to, there might be a little bit of, you know, chopping and changing.
03:06You know, you just want you guys to be performing leading into the first game and being fresh as well.
03:11So, first things first, you want to win the series, no doubt.
03:14Every time you play for New Zealand or against a good team, you want to win.
03:18So that's, I guess, in the forefront of our mind, but I guess the bigger picture at the end of the series is the World Cup,
03:24and it'll be the same for India as well.
03:28Mitch, before you ask a question about Danny Mitchell,
03:31what exactly makes his special and stand out that he has really had a failure against India in the white ball format.
03:39So, what is it that he's doing and what, from which others can also contribute?
03:45Yeah, I guess Daryl, you know, I've played with Daryl for a long time, domestic as well.
03:50I think when he came over, he did struggle a little bit against spin, but he's worked incredibly hard on his game.
03:57And now, you know, we've seen, as you guys have seen, you know, the fruits of his labour.
04:03I guess he's performed, plays spin very well, knows his game inside and out, and really relishes the, you know, the challenge.
04:12He gets up for the fight, as you've probably seen.
04:15And he's, I guess he's been a banker for us in ODI cricket, especially now that I guess Kane's, you know, not here.
04:21He's kind of stood up and, you know, the way he kind of controls the innings, you know, that run right through the middle,
04:27and then obviously has the power at the end, so I guess he'll be looking to do something similar in the T20 series.
