00:00We have some interest to show you.
00:09So we're celebrating our centenary year at the library, and we've got some items to show you, including Fabius Key as well.
00:17But very, very quickly, to give you a sense of who we are and what we do,
00:21although we have fantastic collections, the collections actually go all the way back to 1682,
00:26which was the foundation of Faculty of Athletics Library, and they have amassed a huge amount of collections,
00:32and up until 1925, as a private institution, they were taking lots and lots of materials,
00:38but we couldn't make it accessible enough for people, and that's why we needed the nursing library.
00:43So what we were going to do was to put that out to the Scottish people and say,
00:46could they raise £100,000 for the money of the library?
00:50But before that could be done, the first thing I'd like to show you is thanks to Alexander Grant,
00:56of McVickens and Wright's artistic manufacturing.
