A family gather to spend Thanksgiving at an isolated cabin, unaware that the site has a horrific history of murder and cannibalism and that the Priest responsible did not rest in peace. Now they are on the menu for Thanksgiving dinner.

00:01:02Month of November, in the year of our Lord 1621.
00:01:08It seems like a lifetime ago that Abigail and I first arrived in the new world, stumbling
00:01:19off the boat alongside a hundred other souls with little more than the clothes on our backs
00:01:25and our hopes for the future.
00:01:29Hopes that were dashed when Reverend Peters and I disagreed over where to build our community's
00:01:36chapel.
00:01:37The trouble spiraled from there until it was clear the two of us weren't ever going
00:01:44to get along.
00:01:45So it was that I convinced Abigail it was time we struck out on our own.
00:01:52Knowing that with God's grace, my two hands and the sack of tools, I could build a home
00:02:01and chapel for ourselves.
00:02:03That was in the spring, many a month ago.
00:02:10And now here we are in winter, holed up in a tiny cabin with no warmth and not a thing to
00:02:19be.
00:02:20Poor Abigail is ailing.
00:02:34She's not alone for this world, and I cannot be far behind her.
00:02:43I've never known such a feeling of hunger.
00:02:49I fear that at any moment a madness may take hold of me.
00:02:54I fear that I'm not alone for this world.
00:03:24For what I am about to receive, may the Lord make me truly thankful.
00:03:54Oh, my God.
00:04:24And God said to Adam,
00:04:54The flesh that is torn from a living beast,
00:04:58At the time that its life is in it,
00:05:02Before all its breath is gone out,
00:05:06Thou shalt not eat,
00:05:09Nor its blood shall thee drink.
00:05:14Those that disobey this command
00:05:16Shall never enter the kingdom of heaven,
00:05:22Or find their rest in the earth.
00:05:24That's all.
00:05:35The Holy Spirit of When Jesus
00:05:37Thou shalt not feed,
00:05:39The Holy Spirit of Jesus
00:05:40It's all.
00:05:41The Holy Spirit of Jesus
00:05:42This will be the final story of the world,
00:05:45I will just try to prove it.
00:05:47This will be the final story of the world,
00:05:50This will be the final entry in this journal.
00:05:57I, Reverend Edmund Fuller, hereby confess to having committed a most terrible sin.
00:06:09The sentence for such a crime is execution.
00:06:14Being that I am alone here, I am forced to carry out this sentence by my own hand.
00:06:28And it must be done quickly.
00:06:31For I fear the hunger that drove me to such terrible acts is rising within me once again.
00:06:42May the Lord forgive me.
00:06:44For what I have done.
00:07:14For what I have done.
00:07:15For what I will.
00:07:16Thank you for having meεεˆ†.
00:07:17Thanks for having me.
00:07:20We will be here.
00:09:02I just gotta know, how the hell did you get a permit to build out here?
00:09:05It's all in protected forest land, isn't it?
00:09:10Trust you to find a way.
00:09:12Listen, Arnie, I can't talk for too long.
00:09:18Cindy could be here at any moment to drop off the kids.
00:09:21That's what Thanksgiving's all about, right?
00:09:23Getting the family together?
00:09:25No, Cindy won't need to stick around.
00:09:28Thank God.
00:09:29I mean, can you imagine?
00:09:29Listen, I gotta go.
00:09:36Thanks again so much for the loan of the cabin.
00:09:39Yeah, I'll see you at the office Tuesday, okay?
00:09:41Okay, bye, bye.
00:09:42Andy, Noah.
00:09:46Happy Thanksgiving.
00:09:50What's that?
00:09:51You Stephen King?
00:09:52Christ, that only boom was Reed Stephen King.
00:09:55Right.
00:09:56Why are you guys on foot?
00:10:01Preway's a good half mile away.
00:10:02We know that, Tom.
00:10:04We've just walked it.
00:10:05What happened to the EV?
00:10:07Dead battery.
00:10:08Come on, Cindy.
00:10:09That battery is old.
00:10:10I told you about it two months ago.
00:10:12That's what we have auto insurance for.
00:10:13Didn't you call them?
00:10:14Yes, I called them.
00:10:16You took my name off the policy.
00:10:20I was gonna warn you about that.
00:10:22Look, can you just take me back to town once the kids are settled in?
00:10:26No, I don't have a car out here.
00:10:28What?
00:10:29Don't worry.
00:10:29I'll make some calls.
00:10:32Let's just head on inside.
00:10:34You're not gonna believe this place.
00:10:36Six bedrooms, kitchen, steam room, hot tub.
00:10:44Okay, who here?
00:11:00So, this is Arnold's little love nest.
00:11:05Vacation cabin for his family.
00:11:08Actually, we're the first to use it.
00:11:10Construction only finished a couple of months ago.
00:11:12Weren't you gonna make some calls?
00:11:15Oh, okay.
00:11:18Signal's better outside.
00:11:42Listen, as much as I hate to say this, try to give your dad a chance this weekend.
00:11:50Spending Thanksgiving with his family always really meant a lot to him.
00:11:53Family meant so much, then why did he leave?
00:11:56Come on, Andy.
00:11:57You know it's not that simple.
00:11:59Adults have different needs.
00:12:01I'm almost 20, Mom.
00:12:03I'm not six.
00:12:03I am an adult.
00:12:04Well, then perhaps you could try acting like one.
00:12:06Hey, call it, Mom.
00:12:08You're right.
00:12:11Andy, I'm sorry.
00:12:14Today is just turning out to be a really bad day.
00:12:20Well, how about later this afternoon?
00:12:23This evening?
00:12:25I know it's Thanksgiving, but this is an emergency.
00:12:28All right.
00:12:32All right, thanks anyway.
00:12:35In answer to your question, your father and I are breaking up because the relationship
00:12:41has run its course.
00:12:42That's all.
00:12:44You can understand.
00:12:45You broke up with Fisher.
00:12:45I went on, like, three dates with Fisher.
00:12:48I wouldn't call that breaking up.
00:12:51You and Dad have been together forever.
00:12:53And we raised a beautiful family that we are very proud of.
00:12:57Yes.
00:12:58Even you, Noah.
00:13:00But now you kids are grown, maybe it's time to make some changes.
00:13:05I know this is a different situation to what we've all been used to, something we all have
00:13:11to deal with in our own way, but I think that if you give it a chance...
00:13:18Oh, I didn't realize there was anyone here.
00:13:21So I can see.
00:13:26Hey, everyone.
00:13:28This is my, uh...
00:13:31This is Sarah.
00:13:33Don't get up.
00:13:33I just popped in to find my phone.
00:13:35I think I left it on the couch.
00:13:40Noah, why don't you, uh, move aside so Sarah can...
00:13:43Don't worry.
00:13:44Found it.
00:13:45Your accent's cool.
00:13:47Are you British?
00:13:48That's right.
00:13:49Sarah and I met when I was in London.
00:13:51A layover at the airport.
00:13:53A layover?
00:13:54How appropriate.
00:13:55Tom was kind enough to help me with my bags.
00:13:58Sarah, this is Andy.
00:14:00And Noah.
00:14:01Pleased to meet you both.
00:14:03So how's it going with, uh, getting the car towed?
00:14:06I called up the six closest places.
00:14:08Five didn't pick up.
00:14:09I'm the one that does it busy all day.
00:14:11Well, it is Thanksgiving.
00:14:13What did you expect, Tom?
00:14:15Okay.
00:14:16I'll think of something.
00:14:17I don't think we've been introduced.
00:14:19Right.
00:14:20This is Sarah.
00:14:22Sarah.
00:14:22This is Cindy.
00:14:24My, uh...
00:14:24His wife.
00:14:26Separated, of course.
00:14:28Still on good terms, I hope.
00:14:29For the sake of your lovely children.
00:14:32I think it's time I showed you two to your rooms.
00:14:34Andy, Noah, you want to come with me?
00:14:37Who here?
00:14:50Who here?
00:14:50What do you think?
00:15:09Oh.
00:15:20Look, Noah, I know we haven't had much of a chance to talk since your mom and I decided
00:15:29to go our separate ways.
00:15:31You don't exactly make it easy to listen to that noise all the time.
00:15:35Well, look, that's why I wanted to get us all together for the holidays, spend a little
00:15:40quality time with you and your sister.
00:15:43Family time, right?
00:15:44Yeah.
00:15:45That's it.
00:15:46Without Mom?
00:15:47Okay, it's more of a chance for you to get to know Sarah.
00:15:59So how's the band coming out?
00:16:00The band?
00:16:01Yeah.
00:16:02You, Mikey, and that skinny kid, what's his name?
00:16:05The band broke up.
00:16:06Oh, that's a pity.
00:16:08In July.
00:16:09It was six months ago, Dad.
00:16:11The skinny kid's name is Denver, and his dad actually gave a shit, so he used to come
00:16:16and see us play.
00:16:17Hey, there's no need for that kind of language.
00:16:19You know I have to travel a lot for work, it's my job.
00:16:23I'm here now, son.
00:16:25So why don't we try and have a nice old-fashioned Thanksgiving, like we used to do when you
00:16:30and Andy were kids.
00:16:34Car trouble?
00:16:48Don't worry.
00:16:49I'm not planning on staying.
00:16:51Oh, it's all right with me.
00:16:53The more the merrier.
00:16:55I told it's a beautiful area.
00:16:57The forest around here.
00:16:58Didn't you see it when you arrived?
00:17:00It was dark when we got here.
00:17:03Tom and I haven't really stepped outside since.
00:17:06I'll bet.
00:17:07I'm more of a city girl.
00:17:09Not really one for hiking in the forest.
00:17:12No.
00:17:13I imagine walking the streets is more your thing.
00:17:16I'm sorry?
00:17:17I mean, you're not exactly dressed for it, are you?
00:17:21Although I can't imagine anything you are dressed for.
00:17:25Oh, I see.
00:17:27Perhaps I ought to go and get changed.
00:17:29He doesn't have any money, you know.
00:17:36So, how's the room?
00:17:51Very pink.
00:17:56Yeah, it's my buddy Arnold's cabin.
00:17:58His daughter's a little younger than you are.
00:18:01So, any more thoughts about what you want to do after graduation?
00:18:06Uh, I don't know.
00:18:08Maybe study some more.
00:18:10There's a couple grad schemes that look interesting.
00:18:12Uh-huh.
00:18:13So, not the few years of reading books before you get an actual job.
00:18:18What do you care?
00:18:19Well, your mother and I can't support you forever, Andy.
00:18:23Oh, so you just want me out of your hair?
00:18:25That's not what I meant.
00:18:26You left, Dad.
00:18:27You moved out.
00:18:28You don't even have to see me and Noah anymore.
00:18:31Of course, I want to see you.
00:18:33That's the whole point of this weekend.
00:18:35It's not about not wanting to see you.
00:18:38It's just that things may get a little difficult financially
00:18:42now that your mother and I are no longer together, you know?
00:18:46That means two houses, two sets of cars, two sets of everything.
00:18:52Not interrupting anything, am I?
00:19:13Only, I think your father wanted us all to get to know one another a little better.
00:19:17Um...
00:19:18And there's no time like the present, is there?
00:19:21Uh-huh.
00:19:23It's a lovely place, this cabin of your father's.
00:19:26There's even a steam room.
00:19:29They're meant to be very good for your skin.
00:19:33I thought I might try it out before I get dressed.
00:19:37I just need to grab myself a towel.
00:19:40Maybe I'll see you there.
00:19:42Five minutes.
00:19:51Kids all settled in?
00:19:54Yeah.
00:19:55So I'll just be going then, shall I?
00:19:59I, uh...
00:20:01I don't really know what to say.
00:20:03It doesn't look like we'll be able to get the car towed until after the holiday.
00:20:07So what are you suggesting?
00:20:09Well, it is Thanksgiving.
00:20:11Why don't you stay for dinner?
00:20:13You have to be kidding.
00:20:16Are you serious?
00:20:17Well there are plenty of rooms.
00:20:19And I think the kids would enjoy it, having the whole family around.
00:20:22And exactly what kind of family is this, Tom?
00:20:25Mom.
00:20:26Mom.
00:20:27Dad.
00:20:28And Dad's a new piece of ass!
00:20:29Shh, come on.
00:20:30Don't raise your voice.
00:20:31I will raise more than my goddamn voice!
00:20:33Tom.
00:20:34I mean, how could you do this to me?
00:20:36Humiliate me like that?
00:20:38Or was that your plan all along?
00:20:40No, it wasn't my plan.
00:20:41I just thought you were gonna come here, drop off the kids and go back into town.
00:20:44I didn't think you and Sarah would see each other.
00:20:46I'll bet you didn't.
00:20:50You know, the two of you seem pretty cozy.
00:20:53For someone you only met just a couple of weeks ago.
00:20:56What do you mean?
00:20:57I mean, her being here for Thanksgiving.
00:21:00To meet your kids.
00:21:02Just seems like you're moving pretty fast.
00:21:05Unless, of course.
00:21:07Unless what?
00:21:08Unless you've been seeing her for a whole hell of a lot longer than that.
00:21:11Like maybe while you and I were still together.
00:21:15No, of course not.
00:21:17That's why I find out that you have wealth.
00:21:19That puts an entirely different spin on the divorce proceedings now.
00:21:23Doesn't it?
00:21:25Infidelity.
00:21:26Cindy.
00:21:27There's no need to get into all of this.
00:21:29Come on.
00:21:30Why don't you just stay for dinner?
00:21:32I'll make sure Sarah stays out of your hair until then.
00:21:35And then...
00:21:36Oh shit.
00:21:37I gotta go get the turkey into the oven.
00:21:39Happy Thanksgiving.
00:21:56There you are.
00:21:58You're early.
00:22:00I'm a great admirer of punctuality.
00:22:03Wait a minute.
00:22:04What are you wearing?
00:22:05Uh huh.
00:22:06I...
00:22:07I...
00:22:08I...
00:22:09I...
00:22:10I...
00:22:11I didn't bring any swimwear.
00:22:12Swimwear?
00:22:13Who needs swimwear?
00:22:14If we were back home in Europe, we'd both be completely naked.
00:22:20What?
00:22:21That's right.
00:22:22Not a stitch on.
00:22:23You just strip it all off.
00:22:25And nobody bats an eyelid.
00:22:27Sounds...
00:22:28Cool.
00:22:29Have you ever been to Europe yourself?
00:22:30No.
00:22:31I...
00:22:32My dad travels a lot, but he never takes us with him.
00:22:33Oh, poor you.
00:22:34It seems unfair that your father gets to enjoy so many things that you don't.
00:22:51You know, I think it's about time things got a little more steamy in here.
00:22:59Don't you?
00:23:00Huh?
00:23:10Are you okay?
00:23:12I think I'd better get back to my roommate in case my dad comes looking for me.
00:23:17Speak it yourself.
00:23:19And God said to Adam, the flesh that is torn from a living beast, thou shalt not eat.
00:23:48Those that disobey this event shall have never entered the kingdom of heaven, or find their rest in the earth.
00:24:01She's almost as easy.
00:24:02She's almost as easy.
00:24:07PIANO PLAYS
00:24:37PIANO PLAYS
00:25:07PIANO PLAYS
00:25:19Noah, Andy, come on, you two, it's family time.
00:25:28PIANO PLAYS
00:25:30Come on, am I the only one who's going to make an effort here?
00:25:49This is not what the Founding Fathers would have wanted during Thanksgiving.
00:25:52Staring at screens and books.
00:26:00Anyway, kids, the good news is that your mother might be staying for dinner.
00:26:05What?
00:26:06Awkward.
00:26:07It will not be awkward.
00:26:10We're all sensible adults and there's plenty of food to go around.
00:26:12Is your girlfriend cooking?
00:26:14No, Sarah doesn't cook.
00:26:16I'll be taking care of everything.
00:26:17That'll be interesting.
00:26:20Where is Sarah, anyway?
00:26:21She's spending some alone time in the steam room.
00:26:24So, if anyone has anything they want to say to clear the air, now's the time.
00:26:35Good.
00:26:36Right, I'll take that as a no.
00:26:37So, here's what we're going to do.
00:26:41We're going to put these all away.
00:26:46And you're Cindy, come on.
00:26:47You're taking my phone.
00:26:49You're not serious.
00:26:50You have to set an example for the kids.
00:26:52I'm going to put mine away as well.
00:26:53What if there's an emergency?
00:26:54The cabin has a regular telephone right there.
00:27:00There's a safe in the master bedroom.
00:27:01I'm going to lock these away for the rest of the afternoon.
00:27:04Ugh!
00:27:04We'll get them back right after dinner, okay?
00:27:07Until then, I want us all to actually be together.
00:27:12You know, this may be the last time we actually get to do this.
00:27:15And whose fault is that, Tom?
00:27:18I'll be back in a second.
00:27:19I'll be back in a second.
00:27:49I'll be back in a second.
00:28:19I'll be back in a second.
00:28:49How did you get along with this, Mom?
00:28:51I guess I don't really feel like I have much choice.
00:28:55We're stuck here with no car.
00:28:59And for all his faults, I think your dad feels guilty that he hasn't been spending much time with you.
00:29:07Maybe if you give him a chance...
00:29:09To do what? Parade his stupid girlfriend around when we pretend that this is normal?
00:29:14What's the point of Thanksgiving anyway? Give him thanks for what?
00:29:19I'll be back in my room.
00:29:25What's going on?
00:29:26We all agree this sucks.
00:29:29I'll be in my room too.
00:29:41Not you as well.
00:29:43I need some air.
00:29:49Shhh.
00:29:50Shhh.
00:29:51Let's go.
00:30:21Let's go.
00:30:51Let's go.
00:31:21Let's go.
00:31:51Let's go.
00:31:53What's the word I'd use?
00:31:56I meant out here, the forest.
00:32:00It's beautiful.
00:32:02I'm surprised Arnold got a permit to build out here.
00:32:04Well, you know Arnie, the smart guy, found a way.
00:32:10He used to think you were a smart guy.
00:32:14No, I'm not so sure.
00:32:15This isn't just some stupid midlife crisis happening.
00:32:18Isn't it?
00:32:20It's been a long time coming.
00:32:22You know that.
00:32:24All I know is that I'm at home hauling laundry for the fourth time in a week.
00:32:29When suddenly I'm hearing on a phone call that you don't live there anymore.
00:32:35What a phone call, Tom.
00:32:37I thought it would be better that way.
00:32:38Better?
00:32:39Better for who?
00:32:41I mean, I guess if you mean better in the sense that you avoided having your head put through the drywall, well then yes.
00:32:47It was better.
00:32:47You see, this is it.
00:32:50This is why I had to leave.
00:32:52Wasn't serious about the drywall.
00:32:54Yeah, but you always just keep blaming me for everything.
00:32:57Who else can I blame, Tom?
00:32:59There are two people in this marriage, Cindy.
00:33:01Neither of us are perfect.
00:33:03But at least I don't pretend to be.
00:33:04I don't pretend to be perfect.
00:33:07Did you ever ask yourself why a man might want to give up everything?
00:33:10Leave his two kids.
00:33:12He's home for 20 years.
00:33:13I don't know.
00:33:14Maybe because he's selfish?
00:33:17Because he drove me away.
00:33:47He's a man.
00:34:10I don't know.
00:34:10I don't know.
00:34:11He's out there.
00:34:11They're different.
00:34:12I don't know.
00:34:12I don't know.
00:34:13I don't know.
00:34:14I'm glad.
00:34:15I don't know.
00:34:45See, this is it.
00:34:52The famous silent treatment.
00:34:55It's a form of abuse, you know.
00:34:57I looked it up.
00:35:07I am not trying to be hurtful, Tom.
00:35:10It's just that sometimes I can't understand what the hell is wrong with you.
00:35:16You were always in a bad mood, always snapping at the kids.
00:35:19Do you ask yourself why?
00:35:22Maybe it was because you were always snapping at me, criticizing me.
00:35:27I never expected to win man of the year.
00:35:30But don't I get any credit for being just a decent, regular guy who works hard at his job and does his best at home?
00:35:36I know I'm away a lot, but I meant what I said on Thursday.
00:35:46So did I, Tom.
00:35:50You have no idea the damage you've done.
00:35:53Down here.
00:36:20Are you spying on me, you little prick?
00:36:27Your own sister?
00:36:28No, I was just exploring.
00:36:31There's all these tunnels down here like a crawl space into the cabin.
00:36:35Can you open the vents?
00:36:36Uh, what is this?
00:36:51I don't know, but you like old books, right?
00:36:54Thought you could check it out.
00:36:56Thanks.
00:36:59I will.
00:37:00It might get me through this weekend.
00:37:05It's really fucked up, right?
00:37:09What's it like down there?
00:37:11Weird.
00:37:12I mean, it's not what you'd expect.
00:37:15Everything looks really old.
00:37:17You better not be down there too long.
00:37:19You know Dad's going to want us all upstairs for the big Thanksgiving dinner.
00:37:22Yeah, I know.
00:37:24I'm just going to go see if I can find any more cool old stuff.
00:37:27Catch you later.
00:37:27I'm not going to stop being mad about how you did.
00:37:57And I really can't say how the kids are going to respond to this weekend.
00:38:02Same way they respond to everything.
00:38:04Noah will hide under his headphones.
00:38:06And he will bury himself in a book.
00:38:10Anyway, they're not kids anymore.
00:38:12And he's at college.
00:38:14And Noah can take care of himself.
00:38:16They're still kids to me, Tom.
00:38:17And you've hurt them.
00:38:19They might not show it, but they are hurt.
00:38:22This is why I wanted to do this.
00:38:24You know how important Thanksgiving is to me?
00:38:26Getting the family together.
00:38:28Big dinner.
00:38:29Speaking of which, don't you have food to prepare?
00:38:31Oh, yeah.
00:38:32You're right.
00:38:34There's so much to do.
00:38:37Hey, can you help me out?
00:38:39Help you out?
00:38:42Making dinner.
00:38:45While your girlfriend relaxes in the sauna?
00:38:47Go fuck yourself, Tom.
00:38:53Go fuck yourself, Tom.
00:38:53Go fuck yourself, Tom.
00:38:54Go fuck yourself, Tom.
00:39:13Oh, okay.
00:39:14Oh, my God.
00:39:44What I'm about to receive, may the Lord make me truly thankful.
00:40:14Noah?
00:40:16Listen.
00:40:18I know things haven't exactly worked out as I planned this weekend.
00:40:24Well, this whole year, actually.
00:40:56It leads to me the courtesy of showing up.
00:41:1430 minutes, okay?
00:41:16Come in.
00:41:26So, how are you doing, kiddo?
00:41:40I guess I haven't been much of a dad these past few weeks.
00:41:48I figured you guys just didn't need me around anymore.
00:41:54Maybe you figured right.
00:41:56Well, if that were true, there'd be no reason for you to be upset, would there?
00:42:00I'm not upset.
00:42:02I...
00:42:04I just wish I knew what was going on with you guys, you and Mom.
00:42:07Well, it's kind of complicated.
00:42:08Complicated.
00:42:09That's what people say when they don't want to talk about something.
00:42:12Okay.
00:42:13So, what exactly do you want to know?
00:42:15Is it me or Noah?
00:42:17What do you mean?
00:42:19Did we make you want to leave?
00:42:21Honey, I'm not leaving you and Noah.
00:42:23This is just about your mother and I.
00:42:25Come on, you're not a kid anymore.
00:42:29You've had boyfriends at college, right?
00:42:31You know how relationships are.
00:42:34At first, it's kind of fun, but...
00:42:38Later it gets, you know...
00:42:40It gets complicated.
00:42:44I just needed some time to uncomplicate my life a little.
00:42:50So, look.
00:42:52I'm gonna go start prepping dinner.
00:42:54You want to come give me a hat?
00:42:56Actually, I'd rather have some more alone time.
00:43:00Okay.
00:43:02That's fine, too.
00:43:04Just one more question.
00:43:06What is it?
00:43:09How old is this cabin?
00:43:11It's brand new.
00:43:12My buddy Arnold had it constructed over the summer.
00:43:15Who were the first to use it?
00:43:17Yeah, that's what I thought you said.
00:43:19Why do you ask?
00:43:21I was just wondering maybe a part of it could be older or something.
00:43:26Oh, you mean the foundations.
00:43:28The what?
00:43:29Foundations under the building.
00:43:31Apparently, there was already a cabin built here.
00:43:35Hundreds of years ago.
00:43:36It was more maroon, really.
00:43:38But because it was already here, my buddy Arnold was able to get a permit to build on top of the existing structure.
00:43:46All he had to do was make sure that what was left of the existing foundations were incorporated into the new building.
00:43:52Pretty smart, huh?
00:43:54Pretty smart, huh?
00:43:58Anyway, I'll see you at dinner.
00:44:00Oh, there you are.
00:44:15What do you think?
00:44:17This one?
00:44:18Or this one?
00:44:20Maybe something a little more conservative.
00:44:22I don't do conservative, Tom.
00:44:25You know that.
00:44:27Maybe, uh...
00:44:29Maybe everything's gonna be okay.
00:44:31Then why wouldn't it be?
00:44:33Well, you've seen my kids.
00:44:34It's not gonna be so easy to win them over.
00:44:36Oh, I don't know.
00:44:38I'm sure I've got your boy suitably intrigued.
00:44:41And it's not gonna be so easy.
00:44:43We've only just met Tom.
00:44:45It could take time to get close to someone.
00:44:47I've been her father for almost 20 years.
00:44:50I'm not even sure how close I am to her.
00:44:53Relax, Tom.
00:44:55I can get anyone wrapped around my little finger.
00:44:58How?
00:44:59I have no ways.
00:45:02Do we have time for a demonstration?
00:45:05Well...
00:45:07The kids are in their rooms.
00:45:09And Cindy's outside.
00:45:12Can we make it best?
00:45:14We can make it anything you want.
00:45:16We've barely scratched the surface, you and I.
00:45:21You wouldn't believe how far I'll go.
00:45:33Wait a minute.
00:45:34Where's my phone?
00:45:36Relax.
00:45:37I put it in the safe with all the other cell phones.
00:45:40In the safe?
00:45:41You're expecting a robbery?
00:45:43No, it's just...
00:45:45I don't want there to be any other distractions during dinner.
00:45:48You know how kids are with their cell phones these days.
00:45:50I'm not one of your kids, Tom.
00:45:52Can't I just check my messages?
00:45:54Okay.
00:45:55Just give me a hand here.
00:46:07This dinner's important to me.
00:46:08I want it to be special.
00:46:10Fine.
00:46:11If it's so special, you've probably got more important things to do than fooling around in here.
00:46:29Yeah.
00:46:30Maybe you're right.
00:46:31Oh, and when you get a chance, before this weekend's over, we ought to talk finances.
00:46:41What?
00:46:42Well, you know, only for the basics.
00:46:46Okay.
00:46:47No problem.
00:46:48I'll go for the second dress.
00:47:16What?
00:47:17We'll go for a while.
00:47:26What?
00:47:27Yeah, we'll go for now.
00:47:28No.
00:47:29Journal of Rev. Edmund Fuller.
00:47:30Month of November in the year of our lord, 1621.
00:47:35It seems like a lifetime ago that Abigail and I first arrived in a new world,
00:47:50stumbling off the boat alongside a hundred other souls with little more than the clothes on our backs and our hopes for the future.
00:48:00That was in the spring, many a month ago.
00:48:08Now here we are in winter, holed up in a tiny cabin with no warmth and not a safety.
00:48:18This will be the final entry in this journal.
00:48:30I, Reverend Edmund Fuller, hereby confess to having committed a most terrible sin.
00:48:45The sentence for such a crime is execution.
00:48:55May the Lord forgive me for what I have done.
00:49:02The weather sounds ominous.
00:49:15Then it's a good thing we're all safe and warm in the cabin. Nothing's going to spoil this dinner, Cindy.
00:49:21Good evening, Cindy. Looking forward to Tom's dinner.
00:49:24I'm sure it'll be an experience. Tom's never cooked for me before.
00:49:27Well, that's something we have in common.
00:49:29I'm perfectly capable of making dinner.
00:49:33Are you okay, honey? Hmm?
00:49:35What is it? Something wrong?
00:49:36No. I guess it's the weather. It freaks me out.
00:49:41No she's sensitive, Tom.
00:49:42I'm sorry. Nothing's gonna spoil this dinner, Cindy.
00:49:44Good evening, Cindy. Looking forward to Tom's dinner.
00:49:48I'm sure it'll be an experience. Tom's never cooked for me before.
00:49:50Well, that's something we have in common.
00:49:53I'm perfectly capable of making dinner.
00:49:55Something wrong?
00:49:57No.
00:49:59I guess it's the weather. It freaks me out.
00:50:01I know she's sensitive, Tom.
00:50:03Maybe you should take a break from all those horror stories.
00:50:07Come sit by me, honey.
00:50:14I was just about to go bring in the sights. Hold tight, everyone.
00:50:18Anyone?
00:50:25I think I need something stronger.
00:50:27How about you, Andy?
00:50:29No, thank you. She's too young.
00:50:31She's a grown woman.
00:50:33She is under 21, which is the legal drinking age in this country.
00:50:37You're joking. 21?
00:50:39Can someone fit to know her?
00:50:41I don't want everything to get cold while we're waiting.
00:50:43I'll go knock on his door.
00:50:48Here. Get this down here while your mother's out of the room.
00:51:03I've been at college for like a year.
00:51:06It's not exactly my first time drinking.
00:51:09I'm sure.
00:51:14And mother?
00:51:16I know what you're trying to do, Sarah.
00:51:21And it won't work with me.
00:51:23What exactly is it that I'm trying to do?
00:51:27Get me on your side so you can worm your way into my family.
00:51:32Worm my way in?
00:51:34You might be able to try my dad, my stupid brother.
00:51:38I mean, we all know a man can't think further than the end of his dick.
00:51:43But I can think of a million ways to fuck up your little weekend.
00:51:50Perhaps you'd be kind enough to keep your thoughts to yourself.
00:51:54I don't know.
00:51:57Here we are.
00:51:59Mashed potato.
00:52:01A pair of salad.
00:52:04Is Noah coming?
00:52:05I knocked on his door, but he didn't answer.
00:52:08I don't know what to do with that boy.
00:52:10I know where he is.
00:52:12I'll go get him.
00:52:24Noah?
00:52:42This all looks marvelous, Tom.
00:52:44Well done.
00:52:45Looks like it was mostly bought from the store.
00:52:47Thank you, Sarah.
00:52:48And the turkey will go right there in the center.
00:52:53So, turkey, family, it's basically just Christmas without the gifts, right?
00:53:00What do you mean?
00:53:02Thanksgiving.
00:53:03I mean, we don't have it in England, so I basically have no idea what you're all doing.
00:53:15Noah.
00:53:25Where are you, you little asshole?
00:53:30Dad's gonna go insane if you miss dinner.
00:53:34It all started when the first pilgrims came to America, and they gave thanks for a safe crossing from Europe.
00:53:39No, that's the Mayflower.
00:53:40Yeah, I know. That was the name of the ship.
00:53:42Yeah, but that's not what Thanksgiving is.
00:53:43Thanksgiving started when the first pilgrims were freezing through the winter, and then they gave thanks when the spring came.
00:53:50Yeah, that sounds right.
00:53:51The warm weather brought a big harvest and saved everybody, and they gave thanks for that.
00:53:56So then, why is Thanksgiving in November?
00:54:13It doesn't matter how it all started. The point of Thanksgiving is that all the families get together and then...
00:54:27Give thanks.
00:54:28Right.
00:54:29But why? Good question.
00:54:30I think it's time I got the turkey on the elbow.
00:54:32This I have to see.
00:54:33This I have to see.
00:54:35It doesn't matter.
00:54:36It doesn't matter how it all started. The point of Thanksgiving is that all the families get together and then...
00:54:40Give thanks.
00:54:41Right.
00:54:42You gross!
00:54:43Noah!
00:54:44I swear to God, when I find you, I'm going to die.
00:54:45You gross!
00:54:46Noah!
00:54:47I swear to God, when I find you, I'll...
00:55:05You gross!
00:55:08I swear to God, when I find you are...
00:55:10I swear to God, when I find you, I'll...
00:55:26Uh, can anyone suggest why turkey might take longer than the suggested cooking time?
00:55:32Well, how's it looking?
00:55:34Pretty, uh, raw.
00:55:36Raw? You've had it in there for hours.
00:55:40Did you switch the oven on?
00:55:41Of course I did. I'm not an idiot, Cindy.
00:55:44The outside looks fine, it's just... the inside.
00:55:47Well, how long have you had it defrosted?
00:55:50What?
00:56:01Well, what?
00:56:05I think we may have a problem.
00:56:07Tom, you didn't put a frozen turkey straight into the oven.
00:56:11Christ, Tom, even I know you can't cook a frozen turkey.
00:56:16Noah?
00:56:16The love I am about to receive, may the Lord make me truly thankful.
00:56:21For the love I am about to receive, may the Lord make me truly thankful.
00:56:30For the love I am about to receive, may the Lord make me truly thankful.
00:56:36for the love I am about to receive, may the Lord make me truly thankful.
00:56:43There is a law you like me.
00:56:45Truly thankful.
00:56:48You know what happened.
00:56:50You know what happened.
00:56:55Help!
00:57:07What the hell happened?
00:57:13Oh my god. Honey, what happened?
00:57:22There's something down there.
00:57:25Down there?
00:57:26Under the cabin.
00:57:28There's some kind of hatch in the floor in Noah's room.
00:57:31Noah was fooling around down there so I went to get him.
00:57:34What's wrong with her leg?
00:57:37Oh my god, Tom!
00:57:39There's a first aid kit in the kitchen.
00:57:41Sarah!
00:57:43Right. Honey, what happened?
00:57:45I told you there's something down there!
00:57:48It tried to grab me!
00:57:50What kind of thing?
00:57:52It was probably just an animal.
00:57:53An animal? Did that to her leg?
00:57:55No, no, I got it stuck on a nail and it wasn't an animal!
00:58:01Give me that!
00:58:03We need to call 9-1-1!
00:58:09Wait a second.
00:58:10Why don't we all just calm down and think about what happened here?
00:58:14Anyone crawling under the building got spooked out by an animal.
00:58:18It wasn't an animal.
00:58:19Well, maybe it was just Noah trying to freak you out.
00:58:22And in a panic to get out of there, you scratch your leg on a nail.
00:58:26That's it.
00:58:28It wasn't Noah.
00:58:29Honey, it might have been.
00:58:31You said yourself you went down there.
00:58:36Let's not all get crazy and call the cops and get your little brother into trouble.
00:58:41Why don't I just go down there and take a look around?
00:58:44It's not safe down there. That's the old part of the building, Dad.
00:58:48The old part?
00:58:49What's she talking about, Tom?
00:58:51It's the foundations.
00:58:53There was an old cabin built here before.
00:58:56An old ruin.
00:58:57They kept part of the old foundations and put it into the new building.
00:59:00That's it.
00:59:01It was the only way Arnie could get a permit to build out here.
00:59:04Who's Arnie?
00:59:05Tom's work buddy.
00:59:06The guy who owns this cabin?
00:59:08I thought you said this was your cabin.
00:59:10I said it was mine to use whenever I needed to.
00:59:12I practically own it. It's the same thing.
00:59:14No, it isn't.
00:59:15I told you he doesn't have any money.
00:59:17We talked about this later, Sarah.
00:59:18Let me just deal with this first, okay?
00:59:22There's a flashlight in the bedroom.
00:59:24I'm gonna take it down into the foundations.
00:59:26Just stay here and wait for me, okay?
00:59:30But, Dad, what if you don't come back?
00:59:33If I don't come back, then you can call the cops.
00:59:36There's a telephone right here.
00:59:42What's got you so freaked out?
00:59:52There's this journal I was reading.
00:59:57Noah, he found it down in the foundations.
01:00:01It's really old.
01:00:03Like, hundreds of years old.
01:00:06Honey, are you sure?
01:00:07Of course, it's right here.
01:00:14Noah?
01:00:20I swear I had it in my hand, Mom.
01:00:25Is that it?
01:00:31Noah?
01:00:33Are you down here?
01:00:39I read the whole thing this afternoon.
01:00:41It was a journal of a... Reverend...
01:00:45Reverend Fuller.
01:00:47He was the guy that built the original cabin.
01:00:49The one Dad was talking about.
01:00:54Noah?
01:00:57Listen, your sister's been hurt.
01:00:59We're all getting a little tired of your fooling around.
01:01:05If you come out right now, maybe we'll all enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner.
01:01:11What do you say?
01:01:16This Reverend...
01:01:17I think he was one of the original pilgrims.
01:01:23He and his wife...
01:01:25got kicked out of their settlement.
01:01:28And he built a cabin...
01:01:31here in the woods.
01:01:32What's in this journal that's so disturbing?
01:01:47Here.
01:01:48The last part.
01:01:51Honey, I can't read that.
01:01:53I need my glasses.
01:01:54It was Winner.
01:02:04They were starving.
01:02:06Him and his wife.
01:02:11And then what happened?
01:02:12What happened?
01:02:37He ate her.
01:02:38He killed her and he ate her.
01:02:43It's all here in his own handwriting.
01:02:47Hey.
01:02:50Down here.
01:02:53Tom?
01:02:54There are tunnels down here that go all the way around the cabin.
01:02:57Have you found Noah?
01:02:59No.
01:03:00I don't like this, Tom.
01:03:01Something must have happened to him.
01:03:03Let me call 911.
01:03:04Wait.
01:03:05I'm just gonna work my way around the rest of the Foundations.
01:03:08Just to be sure he isn't hiding somewhere.
01:03:10Fine.
01:03:11Don't take all night.
01:03:27So what became of this, Reverend?
01:03:29He killed himself.
01:03:33He killed himself.
01:03:35Here in the cabin.
01:03:40But he knew that his soul would never rest in peace.
01:03:47What are you saying, honey?
01:03:53I saw him.
01:03:54I saw him.
01:03:55Down there.
01:03:59You saw him?
01:04:01You mean...
01:04:03You saw his remains?
01:04:24I saw him.
01:04:38Noah?
01:04:51That's it.
01:04:52I am calling the cops.
01:04:55No one.
01:04:57Oh my God.
01:04:59It's...
01:05:01To be with him.
01:05:03The Lord!
01:05:04That's it.
01:05:06That's it.
01:05:08What I'm about to receive...
01:05:10Will the Lord make me truly thankful.
01:05:12To be with you.
01:05:13Oh no!
01:05:17You are calling me.
01:05:18Just.
01:05:20You are calling me.
01:05:21Shit! All this stupid, fucking ridiculous...
01:05:37Why do I ever even listen to you, doll?
01:05:40Oh god, what am I being doing here?
01:05:44I think Dad's dead, Mom.
01:05:51And Noah too.
01:06:08This never should have happened.
01:06:11Oh god, we shouldn't even be here.
01:06:15Oh god, it's all my fault.
01:06:18How can it be your fault, Mom? We're only here because Dad moved out.
01:06:25He wanted to come back.
01:06:28We talked about it on the phone, Thursday.
01:06:35He said he wanted to give it all up and come back.
01:06:38He said what?
01:06:41Thanksgiving always just meant so much to him.
01:06:46But I told him I was just so mad with him.
01:06:50I told him he'd made his bed.
01:06:54But he was just so excited to see you kids.
01:07:00Now here we are.
01:07:03Look, it's simple.
01:07:10If we're going to call for help, we need to open the safe.
01:07:14And all we need in order to do that is the combination.
01:07:17Tom had it in his pocket.
01:07:20Are you suggesting someone goes down there?
01:07:23Well, how hard can it be?
01:07:25It's only a few meters between here and the bedroom.
01:07:29How big is a meter?
01:07:31It's about...
01:07:33Look, it doesn't matter.
01:07:35The point is, the combination could be right here in front of us if we could just find Tom.
01:07:41Find Tom's body, you mean?
01:07:44If that's the case.
01:07:47Well...
01:07:48Yes.
01:07:52Go ahead then.
01:07:53Me?
01:07:54Why not?
01:07:55I don't see you doing anything else useful.
01:07:57Have you seen what I'm wearing?
01:07:59I can't go crawling around in tunnels.
01:08:01You could change your clothes.
01:08:03Cindy, all of my clothes look like this.
01:08:06I'll do it.
01:08:07No.
01:08:09Don't be stupid.
01:08:11If anyone is going to do this, it's going to be me.
01:08:14Mom, no, no, no, no, no.
01:08:15It'll be okay.
01:08:18Like Sarah said, I just have to go in far enough to get the combination.
01:08:22But that man thing is down there.
01:08:26And your father wasn't ready for it.
01:08:31But I will be.
01:08:33If that thing comes near me,
01:08:39I'm going to carve myself a turkey.
01:08:57Come, you bastard.
01:08:58Just find me.
01:08:59If you will.
01:09:00If you've killed my son.
01:09:04What are you doing?
01:09:05My mom is risking her life down there.
01:09:06What do you want me to do?
01:09:07What are you doing?
01:09:08What do you want me to do?
01:09:09Shall I have encouragement through the floorboards?
01:09:14What do you want me to do?
01:09:15Shall I have encouragement through the floorboards?
01:09:16What do you want me to do?
01:09:17What do you want me to do?
01:09:18Shall I have encouragement through the floorboards?
01:09:22What do you want me to do?
01:09:23What do you want me to do?
01:09:24Shall I have encouragement through the floorboards?
01:09:28What do you want me to do?
01:09:29What do you want me to do?
01:09:30What do you want me to do?
01:09:31What do you want me to do?
01:09:32What do you want me to do?
01:09:33Shall I have encouragement through the floorboards?
01:09:35Oh, don't you?
01:09:36See, they are still sleeping through the floorboards.
01:09:49And what do you want me to do?
01:09:55Okay.
01:10:00I'll do it.
01:10:05Come on.
01:10:35Hurts, does it?
01:10:48Still, no more than you deserve.
01:10:52Seems you found a way to fuck up my weekend after all.
01:10:56What?
01:10:58I...
01:10:58I didn't...
01:11:00I didn't want any of this.
01:11:01Oh, Christ!
01:11:02Is there no more booze in this place?
01:11:05Ippie.
01:11:15Mom, can you get over to the vent?
01:11:18Shh!
01:11:23Here.
01:11:25Take this.
01:11:26Got it!
01:11:27Can you give that to Sarah so she can open the safe?
01:11:31Um, I don't think I should do that, Mom.
01:11:34Do what?
01:11:38What's that?
01:11:46The combination to the safe.
01:11:48Wonderful.
01:11:49Well done.
01:11:50Can you get our cell phones and call 911?
01:11:52We need an ambulance for Andy and the fire department to dig me out of his mains.
01:11:56As fast as possible.
01:12:03What are you doing?
01:12:06You can rot down there for all I care.
01:12:12And that's for you.
01:12:18Leave her alone, you bitch!
01:12:20I'll leave her alone, all right.
01:12:39Just as soon as I call myself a cab.
01:12:41What are we gonna do?
01:12:59I'll find my own way out of here.
01:13:01I'll find my own way out of here.
01:13:25Ah!
01:13:26Ah!
01:13:27Ah!
01:13:27Ah!
01:13:27I will be with you soon, honey.
01:13:39It's just a couple of meters, right?
01:13:42Right.
01:13:45Is he...
01:13:46Is he down there, that thing?
01:13:51Don't worry about it.
01:13:57Don't worry about it.
01:14:27Don't worry about it.
01:14:57The love I'm about to receive.
01:15:01Isaac, go away!
01:15:04May the Lord let me truly thank you.
01:15:10Go away, you rotten sex of shit!
01:15:14Bob!
01:15:25Bob!
01:15:26Bob!
01:15:27Did I miss something?
01:15:41Bob!
01:15:42Oh dear.
01:15:49I'm sorry this weekend's been a bit shit for you, darling.
01:15:59Looking on the bright side.
01:16:01I think I dodged a bullet.
01:16:04And don't you?
01:16:04I don't know.
01:16:05I don't know.
01:16:05But I'll be with you.
01:16:06I don't know.
01:16:07I don't know.
01:16:10But I see.
01:16:11I'm not going to be with me.
01:16:11I'll be with you with you, too.
01:16:12I love you, too.
01:16:14But I'll need you in shock.
01:16:16Yeah.
01:16:17I love you, too.
01:16:19But I'm not going to be with you, too.
01:16:21Oh, my God.
01:16:51Mom!
01:17:13Mom! The cell phone!
01:17:219-1-1, what's your emergency?
01:17:30Um, it's...
01:17:34It's complicated.
01:17:41Ma'am? Ma'am, are you still there?
01:17:51I'm going to go.
01:17:54I'm going to get you out of here.
01:17:55If I get any questions, I'll drop you in the comments below.
01:17:56I'm going to try the other side, or don't I?
01:17:57I can't wait until you're done.
01:17:59I can't wait until you're magazineed.
01:18:01I'm going to get there.
01:18:02I'm going to finish all the time.
01:18:03I'm going to talk me about this video.
01:18:05I'm going to ask you later.
01:18:07I'll just try the next one.
01:18:09I'm going to finish my last one though.
