Thousands rally in Los Angeles in solidarity with Iranian protesters

Thousands of demonstrators gather in front of the City Hall in Los Angeles, California, waving flags and chanting slogans as they rally in solidarity with Iranian protesters, after a violent protest crackdown that killed thousands in Iran. The city has the largest Iranian diaspora in the world. Demonstrations in Iran, sparked in late December by anger over economic hardship, exploded into protests widely seen as the biggest challenge to the Iranian leadership in years.
