00:00Alex, a tough one out there today, but a great fight.
00:02Can you just give us your thoughts on the match and your performance today?
00:07Yeah, it was a tough one, like you said.
00:10I think it's only normal that with a loss comes disappointment and being upset.
00:16But then again, it's another opportunity for me to take and learn and grow as a player.
00:24And yeah.
00:26Great.
00:26Bye.
00:26Yeah.
00:27Great.
00:27Questions in English, please.
00:29Ben.
00:29Hi.
00:30Ben Ralkenberg from Down to this community.
00:32The crowd that you had today, I don't know if you expected that or when you saw the schedule,
00:37if you realized that Court 6 would be not enough for your crowd, but it was like the story of
00:41today at the tournament, how many people were there, how many more people wanted to see you
00:44who came and couldn't get seats.
00:46Did you, what did that feel like for you just as a player to see how much support you had
00:51and how much excitement you had from so many thousands of people who came to the Australian
00:55Open for you today?
00:57Yeah, it was so heartwarming.
00:59And I think that's one of the things that makes a loss like today a little bit harder
01:04is that I know a lot of people were rooting for me, but then again, Alicia played really
01:10well.
01:12And, you know, I just hope that the support continues with the losses along with the wins.
01:20I think that would really touch me.
01:22But then again, just the fact that everyone came out and really squeezed into that, you
01:28know, cozy court.
01:29I really appreciated, I felt so loved even when I was 5-2 down in the third, you know, still
01:37felt the love.
01:38So I'm really appreciative and super thankful.
01:42Yeah.
01:43Having such a big crowd for you, does that help you during the match or does that put more
01:50pressure on you?
01:50And is it something you need to still need to learn to deal with?
01:54Yeah, it's a process to take it all in.
01:58I think this week was definitely, there were elements that were a bit overwhelming, especially
02:08during my practices.
02:10I didn't expect that many people to be there.
02:13So it's a learning process, like everything, you know, losses are learning, is part of the
02:19learning process.
02:20The trainings are part of a learning process.
02:22So I'm just trying to take it in.
02:24I'm still young, 20.
02:26So learning how to deal with all of this attention.
02:29But then at the same time.
02:30Do you have any conversations with tournament organizers about your popularity here?
02:35Do they say like, oh, wow, sorry, next time we'll have to put you on a huge stadium?
02:38We didn't know.
02:39Like, because it seemed like, you know, there was a disconnect here between the demand and
02:42the supply.
02:45Well, I don't know.
02:47I have no say in the courts that I am put on.
02:51I'm just here to do my thing.
02:53Whatever court they put me on, I go compete.
02:56And that's what I did today.
02:58And then just globally, do you have a sense of, sorry, I'm not trying to give you an ego
03:01here, but like, if you look at the numbers on YouTube for like the pre-term press conferences,
03:06how much people watch some of yours, is that like 170,000?
03:12Okay.
03:12And then like, everyone else is like under 40,000, like Djokovic, Alcaraz.
03:17Oh, okay.
03:18Like, you're like in a league of your own in the numbers.
03:20I wouldn't say so.
03:21And I'm just wondering if you have any sense of like, sort of how, how notable and how
03:25surprising and big, you know, it's been, there's like numbers that can prove this.
03:28It's not just sort of opinion.
03:29It's like, turnout for you has been.
03:31Yeah, I guess I haven't really thought about it.
03:35I haven't seen those numbers.
03:36So then again, I, like I said, in the last press conference, taking everything with a
03:43spoonful of gratitude.
03:44I, I am nowhere near the leagues of, of course, the greats Djokovic, and then now Sabalenka
03:53and Alcaraz and all of these people.
03:55I have so much respect for them and, and I think everyone does.
03:59Um, but yeah, I like to think that I have a following for a reason.
04:05Um, and I like to think that the impact that I, I've had and, and the platform that I've
04:11built, um, has a positive effect on, on a certain demographic and my, my demographic.
04:18Um, yeah, so, I mean, I guess this is one of the moments that I can reflect on, on what
04:27this means for, for Philippine tennis.
04:29I'm the only Filipina in the draw this year.
04:33I'm the only Filipina that's ever been in the draw, I think.
04:38So there are positives to take away.
04:41And like I said, so much gratitude and super thankful.
04:45Yeah.
04:48Yeah.
