00:19As ex-tropical cyclone Koji moves across the Queensland border into the NT, a tropical low
00:25is expected to develop this weekend.
00:28As it tracks towards Darwin, the system is expected to bring dangerous conditions.
00:33We are expecting fairly broad areas of 100 to 200 millimetres of rain.
00:38You can also expect creeks and rivers to rise quite rapidly, so flash flooding is definitely

01:31It can be other things as well, but it's always better to be safe than sorry.
01:34Thankfully, the Bureau says the worst of the heat is over, for now.
01:39Those hotter conditions, particularly in the top end, are definitely easing as we get more
01:44cloud cover and rain developing over the weekend.
01:47Looking further ahead, the Bureau of Meteorology has just released its long-range forecast for the
01:53next three months, and it shows daytime temperatures are likely to be above average for much of the
01:59Northern Territory, with overnight temperatures also very likely to be higher than usual.
02:04More extremes in a place accustomed to wild weather.
