An Iranian activist stunned the United Nations with a fiery 15-minute address directly accusing the Ali Khamenei regime of plotting her murder. Masih Alinejad said she survived three assassination attempts, locking eyes with Iran’s UN representative as she delivered her charge.

Alinejad revealed she personally saw her would-be assassin outside her home in Brooklyn, saying her only “crime” was speaking for victims killed by the regime. She credited U.S. law enforcement with stopping the hit, declaring she is alive today because the plot was foiled.

00:00Hello, everyone.
00:06My name is Masih Alinejad.
00:08I am a woman from Iran.
00:09Mr. President, Excellency, members of the Council.
00:14I am honored to be invited by the United States
00:17to testify before the United Nations Security Council.
00:20I am here today to warn you.
00:23On behalf of millions of Iranians,
00:25what is needed now to bring justice to those who order
00:29massacre in Iran is a real and concrete action
00:33against a regime that do not understand
00:36the language of diplomacy.
00:39The United Nations has failed to respond
00:42with the urgency this moment demands.
00:47The Secretary General himself has not spoken publicly
00:52against the massacre unfolding in Iran.
00:56Only a written statement through his spoke person
00:59silence at this moment, send a signal,
01:03send a message to the killers of young protesters
01:07alongside their family members.
01:10I strongly believe that the regime in Iran
01:13heard the clear message from the Secretary General.
01:16I think the members of this body have forgotten the privilege
01:23and responsibility of sitting in this room.
01:27Secretary General, I know you hear me.
01:30I want to directly talk to you.
01:33Why are you afraid of the Islamic Republic?
01:35Millions of unarmed Iranians, innocent and unarmed protesters
01:41have been silenced with bullets, mass arrest, prison,
01:47and a total communications blackout.
01:50No internet, no cell phones, and no landlines.
01:53They put Iran in a total darkness.
01:59I am here to bring their voices here in this room.
02:02I am here to tell you that a brutal slaughter
02:05has taken place in my beloved homeland, Iran.
02:08And it will get much worse if the world do not take serious action.
02:14Iran is facing a nationwide uprising that cuts across Iran,
02:22across the society, with a clear demand to end Islamic Republic.
02:28At the same time, a nationwide campaign by the Islamic Republic
02:32to erase it, to silence people.
02:36The protests start on December 28,
02:38sparked by collapse of Iranian currency.
02:41But immediately, immediately turned into what Iranian people call it,
02:47a revolution, a total rejection against 47 years of tyranny and oppression.
02:53Protest spread to more than 100 cities
02:57and involved every layer of the societies.
03:01Shopkeepers, workers, teachers, nurses,
03:05and those who wave the historic lion and sun flag
03:12and those ethnic minorities, including Kurds, Baloch,
03:16all other minorities, men and women,
03:21shoulder to shoulder in the streets.
03:23When it comes to freeing Iran,
03:27I have to say that loud and clear
03:30that all Iranians are united.
03:33From Tehran to Tabriz,
03:36to Rash to Ahwaz,
03:38from major cities to small towns and villages
03:41that we barely even heard the names of those small towns and villages in the media.
03:47They are in the streets.
03:47Millions of Iranians flooded into the streets,
03:51demanding that their money stop being stolen
03:55and sending to Hamas,
03:58to Hezbollah,
03:59to Houthi,
04:00the money of the workers,
04:02the money of innocent people
04:03who do not have now the capability of to buy a bread.
04:08The entire nation looking at freedom right now.
04:13What followed was regime using military weapons,
04:18AK-47,
04:19against innocent people.
04:20According to Iran International Media Broadcasting,
04:23the death toll has passed more than 12,000.
04:28Just a day later,
04:30CBS reported more than 20,000 people have been killed
04:35and they are not the numbers.
04:36They are not the statistics.
04:38We don't even know the real numbers.
04:41citizen journalists from inside Iran
04:44have sent videos showing piles and piles of body bags
04:50on the top of each other.
04:54Iranians exiled.
04:56Because of the internet shutdown,
04:58they zoom in to make sure whether their relatives
05:01and their beloved ones are on the body bags or not.
05:05I myself have received urgent phone call
05:09and phone messages from Iranians
05:11thanks to Starlink inside the country
05:13asking outside world for urgent help.
05:18They welcome when President Trump offered
05:21to rescue unarmed people being shot
05:24in their heart, in their chest
05:26by the security forces inside Iran.
05:28One activist who cannot be named for his safety
05:34told me the streets are full of dead bodies.
05:40They are finishing.
05:41They are finishing off the injured in the street.
05:44They told me the security forces have stormed
05:47into hospitals and taking away the injured.
05:51I have also received multiple messages
05:54from families of victims
05:56who say the security forces
05:58forced them to pay money
06:01to take the dead body of their beloved one
06:04to bury them.
06:05On January 8, 2026,
06:08the Islamic Republic shut down the internet
06:11and imposed a technical blackout.
06:15not to stop protests
06:17because people are fed up
06:19and they are in the streets anywhere
06:20but to hide their crimes,
06:23their brutality.
06:25This was not a technical mistake or failure.
06:28It was deliberate.
06:30When a regime turns off the internet
06:33during mass killings
06:34and at the same time
06:36the leaders of the same regime
06:37using the privilege of freedom of speech
06:40on social media
06:41to mislead the rest of the world,
06:43it is not about restoring order.
06:47It is about destroying the evidence.
06:50If it was not for a starting inside Iran,
06:54we couldn't have been able
06:56to have even these informations.
06:58The Islamic Republic does not limit its crimes
07:02within its own borders.
07:04They kill their opponents at home
07:07and target those who expose
07:09their brutality abroad.
07:10here, even here,
07:13on U.S. soil
07:14and every corner of the world.
07:17In Europe, in Canada, in Australia,
07:20everywhere.
07:21And they are not alone.
07:24This is called transnational repression
07:25and the Chinese government helping them.
07:29Venezuelan dictators are helping them.
07:31Russian mobsters being hired
07:32by the Islamic Republic
07:33to target their dissidents
07:34and opponents beyond their own borders.
07:36I now address the representative
07:40of the Islamic Republic directly.
07:44You have tried to kill me three times.
07:49I have seen my would-be assassin
07:51with my own eyes in front of my garden
07:54in my home in Brooklyn.
07:58In the United States of America,
08:00in the courthouse,
08:01I have seen my would-be assassin
08:03confessing that they have been hired
08:06by the Revolutionary Guards
08:07to end my life.
08:10My crime?
08:12Simply echoing the voice
08:13of innocent people
08:14that you killed them.
08:16Your leader,
08:17Ali Khamenei,
08:19he ordered my killing.
08:23He said,
08:24that American agent
08:25who compared compulsory a job
08:27to the Berlin Wall
08:28must be killed.
08:29I am that woman
08:30and I am not the agent of America.
08:32I have agency,
08:34but I am thankful
08:34to the American government
08:36and the law enforcement
08:36to protect my life.
08:38And it was not,
08:40if it was not the protection
08:41of the law enforcement,
08:43I wouldn't,
08:43I couldn't have been here
08:45to testify
08:46for millions of people
08:47who are facing
08:48the same killers,
08:49facing the same terrorist regime
08:51in my country.
08:53Yes,
08:53protection matters.
08:55I live with survivors' guilt
09:07because many Iranians
09:10do not have the same protection.
09:13The same IRGC
09:14with the same AK-47
09:16killed them
09:18in front of the eyes
09:19of their family member.
09:20Two would-be assassins
09:23received 25 years
09:25prison sentence
09:25here in New York.
09:26And I'm going to face
09:28two other killers
09:29being hired
09:30by the Islamic Republic
09:31in March.
09:32And they are the one
09:33who were assigned
09:34by the same IRGC member
09:36to assassinate
09:37President Trump.
09:39The Islamic Republic
09:40rules through fear.
09:43It makes people disappear
09:45from public life,
09:46from memory,
09:48from history.
09:49So today,
09:50I want to record
09:51the names of those
09:52who refuse to be afraid
09:54and erased.
09:57Satayesh Shafi'i,
09:5920 years old.
10:01Before the internet
10:03was cut,
10:04she wrote
10:04on her social media,
10:06they are cutting off
10:08my internet,
10:09but I love you all.
10:11She was killed
10:12by the Islamic Republic
10:13IRGC.
10:14Rabin Moradi,
10:1917 years old,
10:21shot in the back,
10:24a young football player.
10:25He was killed
10:26by the same IRGC.
10:30Mehdi Zatparvar,
10:32a popular athlete.
10:34He wrote on his Instagram
10:36before going to the street,
10:38I know
10:39I may be killed,
10:42but I have no fear.
10:44I want
10:44my rights.
10:46He was killed
10:47by the same IRGC.
10:50Siavash
10:51Shirzad,
10:5330 years old,
10:56his family begged him
10:59not to go to the streets
11:01because of his safety.
11:04He said,
11:04he said to his family,
11:06I go to the street
11:09to celebrate
11:10the victory
11:11of our revolution
11:12because President Trump
11:14promised
11:14to rescue our lives.
11:17He was killed
11:18by the same
11:19revolutionary guards.
11:22Negin Qadimi,
11:2320 years old,
11:25she died
11:26in her father's arms
11:29after being shot
11:30by the revolutionary guards member.
11:32I feel guilty
11:42that I don't name the rest.
11:46The list of names
11:48goes on and on.
11:54They knew
11:55they would face
11:55guns and bullets,
11:57but they wanted justice.
11:59So now let me
12:00name their killers.
12:02Ali Khamenei,
12:04who declared
12:05protesters
12:06would be put
12:07in their place.
12:09Judiciary Chief
12:10Ghulam Hussein Mohseni
12:12Ajayi
12:13and the IRGC
12:14commanders
12:15who publicly,
12:16publicly vowed
12:17punishment
12:18would be maximum.
12:21Ali Larijani,
12:22who promised
12:23no mercy
12:23for those
12:25who questioned
12:26the regime
12:27while his own daughter,
12:29his own family
12:31live here
12:32in the United States
12:33of America.
12:33They don't deserve
12:35to enjoy
12:36the privilege
12:37of freedom
12:38in America.
12:39Like the other
12:40children and relatives
12:41of the Ayatollahs
12:42saying,
12:43death to America,
12:44their relatives
12:44live here
12:45in America.
12:47Three years ago,
12:49another Iranian
12:50human rights
12:50defender
12:51stood here
12:52in this room
12:53to warn you
12:54about another
12:55nationwide protest.
12:57Women,
12:58life,
12:58freedom
12:58after the murder
13:00of Mahsa,
13:01Gina,
13:02Amini
13:02for the crime
13:03of simply
13:03showing a bit
13:04of her hair.
13:06How many women
13:07are sitting here?
13:09You could easily
13:09get killed
13:10simply for showing
13:11your hair.
13:12Mahsa got killed.
13:14That sparked
13:14a revolution.
13:15And women
13:17and men
13:17shoulder-to-shoulder
13:18took to the street
13:19more than 700
13:20people got killed.
13:22We have seen
13:23this before.
13:24We have more
13:25names to remember.
13:27In 2009,
13:29Neda Agha Sultan,
13:32symbol of
13:32more than 100
13:33people who got killed,
13:35they named
13:36President Obama
13:37to protect them.
13:38President Obama
13:39was looking
13:41to open
13:42the doors
13:43of diplomacy
13:44to a regime
13:45whose language
13:46of negotiating
13:47with its own
13:48people
13:48is guns
13:49and bullets.
13:51We have seen
13:52this in 2019
13:53with Pouya
13:55Bakhtiari
13:56who was killed
13:58in front of
13:59the eyes
14:00of his mother,
14:01Nahid
14:02Chirpiche.
14:03At the same time,
14:04President Biden
14:05was trying
14:06to keep
14:06the doors
14:06of diplomacy
14:07open,
14:08handing out
14:09billions of dollars
14:10to the regime
14:11that forced
14:12the family members
14:13to give
14:14money to the regime
14:15to take
14:16that body
14:17of their beloved
14:18one back.
14:19Faced
14:20with the regime
14:21using military
14:22weapons
14:23against civilians,
14:25the Iranian people
14:26are asking
14:27the world
14:27to help
14:28through actions,
14:29not back-to-back
14:31meetings
14:32and empty
14:32condemnation.
14:33We don't need
14:34empty words.
14:36People of Iran
14:37are asking
14:38the Islamic Republic
14:39are telling you
14:41the Islamic Republic
14:42no longer
14:43can be reformed
14:44and asking you
14:45that the Islamic Republic
14:47no longer be treated
14:48as a legitimate government.
14:51Today,
14:52the number of those
14:53killed
14:54is much higher
14:56than I told you.
14:58This regime
14:59again and again
15:01cannot be reformed.
15:02Let me be very clear.
15:04The Islamic Republic
15:05behave like ISIS
15:07and the Islamic Republic
15:09must be treated
15:11like ISIS.
15:13This is how
15:14you can save
15:15lives.
15:17Thank you so much.
