00:00Hi there, it's Dr. David Green, founder and CEO of R3 StemCell, the global leader in regenerative therapies.
00:08Alright, today's topic is stem cell therapy for Parkinson's disease in Dubai.
00:13R3 StemCell now has a first-rate facility in Dubai, ready to provide the same high-quality, high-safety standard regenerative therapies,
00:23just like we do all over the rest of the world, right in Dubai.
00:27No longer do patients have to travel throughout the Gulf region, especially if you live in the UAE.
00:34Alright, so let's get into this.
00:35What happens when you have Parkinson's disease?
00:39Well, this is a brain friend of mine.
00:42Look, he has eyes and everything.
00:44So what happens when a person has Parkinson's disease?
00:48Well, we're not going to go too much into the weeds with it, but it involves a person's central nervous system with the brain
00:54and the brain's ability to produce dopamine from the neurons that normally produce that chemical.
01:03Now, the chemical is important.
01:05We need dopamine to do a lot of things, such as our sense of smell, the ability to walk with balance and coordination,
01:13and there's several other issues that can occur when these dopaminergic-producing neurons start to fail.
01:21There are some conventional medications, such as levodopa, carbidopa,
01:24which can help these neurons produce more dopamine for a while, but they do have significant side effects.
01:32And most patients who call us to ask about stem cells, they've been taking these medications for a while,
01:37and they're really not super-duper effective anymore.
01:41So over the last few years, there have been some really good peer-reviewed research studies,
01:47and our experience mirrors this, where stem cell and exosome therapies have been very effective
01:53at helping patients get significantly better quality of life with these treatments.
02:00For instance, patients who we've treated over the last several years,
02:04when we started doing these treatments for Parkinson's, based on the research evidence,
02:09report to us that they get better balance, coordination, ambulation ability,
02:14better ability to perform their activities of daily living, right?
02:17Getting around the house, hygiene, things like that, and the sense of smell improves.
02:24How do we administer these regenerative biologics?
02:27Well, we do it in a combination approach.
02:29The first is simply an intravenous drip procedure, which is very standard, very safe,
02:36and we do that over one or two days.
02:40And the second application that we do is with an intrathecal approach.
02:45And basically, that's a fancy term that just means a reverse spinal tap.
02:50So it's an injection through the lower back.
02:53Our anesthesiologists have been doing these.
02:55That's what they do for part of their living, you know, is spinal taps and epidurals and things in
03:02the spinal canal.
03:04But at any rate, we administer upwards of 50 million mesenchymal stem cells at a point in time.
03:11It's a very safe procedure.
03:13It's one that we've done for over a decade now.
03:16And it's the best way we know of for the stem cells to be able to avoid the blood-brain barrier.
03:22So what happens?
03:23Most patients within about three to six weeks, maybe eight weeks on average, start to notice
03:30significant improvements, okay?
03:33And these things continue to get better and better for approximately six months, give or
03:38take.
03:39And then it usually hits a baseline, and patients are able to keep that baseline anywhere from
03:44one to three years, okay?
03:47As I mentioned, it's not a cure, and it will need to be repeated at some point.
03:52But if you think about it, when you're taking these traditional medications and they don't
03:56work anymore, there's really nothing else left to offer.
04:00Even a spinal cord, you know, transcranial stimulator often stops working after one to
04:07two years if it works at all.
04:09So with this treatment, you don't have any invasive measures, such as something being put
04:16into the brain, right?
