00:21So how did you approach portreting this transformation as an actor?
00:30You know, I think it's weird because Percy and I kind of spent the same amount of time away from camp
00:36and from filming for me, but, you know, and we also kind of did the same thing.
00:40Like, I went right back to school for, like, the first full year since, like, sixth grade
00:45and he went back to school and, like, that was almost his first entire full year of school.
00:54So I think there wasn't really another way to, like, prepare myself
00:57other than just, like, jumping right into it, you know what I mean,
01:01and just kind of figuring it out as you go.
01:04Yeah, I think it's interesting because with Percy it's almost like it's better to just –
01:11I mean, obviously you do your work beforehand and, you know, you figure everything out,
01:15but it's almost like you leave some stuff, you know, to think about until you get there on the day
01:21because that's just constantly what Percy's doing.
01:26He doesn't really think about stuff before he does it.
01:28It's like – it's just all an instinct.
01:30So I think that's kind of part of it, you know?
01:34Absolutely.
01:34And for Lea and Arian, how your character changed through the season?
01:42How?
01:43How, yeah.
01:44Yeah, and how did you approach them?
01:52Are you sure?
01:53Okay.
01:53I think – I don't know if it's more, like, through the season and just, like,
01:59through the difference of season one and two, there is definitely a big change.
02:05Well, I mean, I think there's a big change.
02:07Maybe that's just me.
02:08But throughout the season, though, I think it stayed pretty the same emotional, tense way
02:16that she was, like, in the beginning to the end.
02:19And it does get – it's – okay, that – hmm.
02:23There's a difference, I feel, like, between changing, like, for example,
02:27going from emotional to, like – and vulnerable to, like, a different thing or something.
02:33But I feel like Annabeth stayed vulnerable and emotional the entire time.
02:38But I think that her intensity of it just changed.
02:41Grover can sometimes be a whirlwind of, like, energy.
02:45And, you know, that's on how I play him as well.
02:47But I think for this season, the biggest thing for me – as an actor and also as someone
02:51who just wants to see Grover develop and as a fan – I think the biggest thing for me
02:56was, like, learning how to focus his energy and not losing it at the same time.
03:04Like, he's not the kind of character to kind of sit in, like, a very heroic place.
03:10Like, his energy isn't super focused and it's not super, you know, about one thing.
03:15He takes different, like, paths.
03:18He has a definitive start and beginning to all of his thoughts.
03:21But he just kind of branches off sometimes and goes in a separate direction before he comes back.
03:25And I think it's – I think he has, like, as much of an ADHD demigod brain as any of the other characters.
03:31But for me, it was just kind of making sure he doesn't become this unfocused, like, kind of high-pitched, like, burst of energy.
03:42And rather, every little thing was specific because he's older now.
03:46And he's not, like, this little kid who just kind of can get away with these unspecific bursts of energy.
03:53And so, especially with the stakes of this season, it was just about making every little thing specific and nuanced and its own moment.
