00:00For years now, Westeros has been moving backward in time.
00:04With House of the Dragon digging into Targaryen history, a Knight of the Seven Kingdoms on the way,
00:09fans keep asking one big question, will the story ever move forward?
00:13The more importantly, will Sansa Stark ever return?
00:17Sophie Turner has finally addressed that possibility.
00:20In a recent interview with The Direct, Sophie was asked if she would consider
00:24coming back as Sansa Stark in a potential Game of Thrones sequel.
00:29Her response started with humor but quickly turned honest.
00:33Show me the money, she laughs.
00:35I don't know, I think it would be hard but also amazing to come back to it, she said.
00:40While the idea sounds tempting, Sophie made it clear that money alone wouldn't decide it.
00:46She spoke openly about how special the original series felt and whether that feeling could ever return.
00:52Maybe it would be an utter joy or maybe it would be trying to cling onto something that was magic
00:58back in the day that can't be recreated.
01:00I would have to see a script, she explained.
01:04One of the biggest reasons Sophie feels unsure about returning is how Sansa's story ended.
01:09Unlike many characters, Sansa's journey closed on a strong note.
01:13But I feel that I was very happy with the way Sansa ended a story in Game of Thrones.
01:18And no one else was really happy with the ending, she said.
01:21I feel like I got a good one, and so I don't know if I could revisit it.
01:26Sansa becoming Queen in the North gave fans a sense of closure, even as the finale divided opinions.
01:33HBO already has a backslate, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms arrives in January 2026,
01:39followed by House of the Dragon season 3 later that year.
01:43A Jon Snow sequel was discussed earlier but later shelled.
01:48Still, George RR Martin has hinted that sequel ideas do exist,
01:52and whether Sansa Stark is part of that future remains to be seen.
