00:00Devotees of the Black Nazarene Feast Day, an iconic image, hailed from hither and yonder.

00:05Some have faithfully repeated this annual ritual for several decades

00:08after miraculous healings of loved ones are to themselves years ago

00:12and have since come back each year without fail.

00:15The devotees' tales are similar or may slightly vary,

00:19but their intense and displays of faith are equally strong and compelling,

00:22as our Bernard Ferrer reports.

00:24Marina's devotion to Jesus Nazareno was once put to the test

00:30when her husband contracted leptospirosis.

00:34When her husband was hospitalized last year, Marina feared that he would not survive.

00:38However, she faced this trial through fervent prayers to Jesus Nazareno.

00:43I said to myself, don't worry about it, because we know how we are going to be able to live in life.

00:51According to Marina, she has been a devotee of Jesus Nazareno for nearly five decades,

00:57a devotion she has also shared with other members of her family.

01:01Aside from this, the couple also serves in Couples for Christ.

01:04From Sambales, Delma traveled all the way to Quiapu Church on the eve of the Traslasyon 2026.

01:10This is part of her deep devotion to Jesus Nazareno following her recovery from gallstone surgery.

01:16Because of this, she did not mind the long journey to Manila.

01:19Basta wala lang kaming naramdaman na kaya namin, sige, kahit na ang hirap kaya mag-commute, mahirap.

01:30Meanwhile, Edz, who is from Bulacan, also attended an early Mass at Capu Church.

01:35He inherited his devotion to Jesus Nazareno from his parents.

01:39Despite suffering from asthma, this did not hinder Edz from deepening his devotion.

01:43He makes it a point to regularly attend Mass at Capu Church, even though it is far from their place.

01:55Meanwhile, ambulant venters are no longer allowed to sell goods at Plaza Miranda,

01:59Corredo Street, and Villiobo Street surrounding Capu Church.

02:02This is part of the authorities' measures to maintain order and prevent overcrowding

02:06as the number of devotees continues to increase.

02:08Police personnel also remain on standby around the church.
