Russian overnight strikes kill at least one in Ukraine's capital Kyiv

At least one person was killed after Russia launched an overnight barrage of drones and missiles targeting Kyiv and the northern Chernihiv region. Zelenskyy said the strikes on the capital targeted a civilian hospital and called on allies to ramp up military support.

00:00Russia carried out combined missile and drone aerial attacks, killing two people, Ukraine's authorities said on Monday.
00:08Local officials say fragments of a drone or a missile struck a four-story building where an in-patients department was operating on the second floor,
00:18causing a fire and resulted in structural damage to the civilian hospital.
00:24Emergency Response Unit said that the body of a deceased civilian who was receiving medical care was discovered.
00:30Three others were found injured in the facility, having sustained wounds of varying severity.
00:37Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky said at least 165 drones were launched across the border in the early hours of Monday,
00:46with some 100 of them being Iranian-made Shahid strike drones.
00:50The attacks, which caused the first reported deaths in Russian strikes on Ukraine this year,
00:56came just days after Ukraine and European allies discussed a U.S.-led 20-point peace plan in Kyiv.
