00:00I'm pretty comfortable man, to be honest.
00:05I wouldn't say I've set any goals.
00:07I think after every injury I've had the last couple of years
00:13and to see how quickly something can be snatched away from you,
00:19you kind of just want to take it.
00:21I have a day-by-day mindset.
00:23I don't know if I'm like a player that needs to prove himself any more than he has.
00:27It's not like I'm an Aussie around 80 or 90 in the world
00:32that hasn't had a breakthrough
00:33and really looking to make some inroads in the sport.
00:36I mean, I've literally had this sport in the palm of my hand
00:39for the last couple of years.
00:42Pretty much every move I make, it's always commented on.
00:46I've had some amazing matches.
00:47I've played on the biggest stages.
00:50So, yeah, I just want to get through this
00:52and be happy with my performance.
00:54Ultimately, I just want to go out there and put on a show for the crowd
00:57and for the fans and for the people, to be honest.
00:59Like, that's my...
01:00I have no agenda in...
01:02I don't care what my ranking is.
01:04I don't care what titles I win.
01:05I just want to go out there and give the people a good show.
01:08And that's ultimately, I guess, that's what I'll go down as.
01:11As an entertainer and someone who just was a bit of a chaotic mess,
01:17but an entertainer at the end of the day.
01:19And I feel as if I can perform at the Australian Open
01:22and really enjoy it and give the people...
01:25You know, they're paying good money to be there.
01:26If I'm not able to give them that, I guess, the curious experience,
01:29then I'd rather...
01:31I would genuinely rather give it to someone
01:33that earned the wild card
01:36and really is in tip-top shape
01:38to start off something special in their career.
01:40So, just say you were given a wild card
01:42to qualifying at the Australian Open.
01:44Would that...
01:45Would you be prepared to grind through there
01:48to get a main draw start?
01:51I guess...
01:52I guess potentially, yeah.
01:53I mean, like, as I said, like, this...
01:55My short-term goal is
01:57to get through my doubles
02:01with one of my mates that I grew up with.
02:04And, you know, he's had success here.
02:06He's won doubles here.
02:07I've won this tournament.
02:09Hence, that's why we got a wild card.
02:12Yeah.
02:13I'm just going to get through this week first.
02:15And whatever AO brings, AO brings.
02:16But that's two weeks away.
02:17I don't know what could happen
02:18between now and then.
02:21As an athlete like yourself,
02:22obviously, you know that
02:23so many things can change.
02:24So, yeah, I'll just take it day by day.
