ABD Başkanı Donal Trump, The Atlantic dergisine verdiği röportajda ABD'nin müdahale edeceği "son ülkenin Venezuela olmayacağına" işaret ederek, "Grönland, Amerikan ulusal çıkarları için hayati öneme sahip. Grönland’ı güzellikle vermezse Danimarka’nın ekonomisini çökertirim. Grönland'a kesinlikle ihtiyacımız var. Etrafı Çin ve Rus gemileriyle çevrili" dedi.
