Donald Trump disse neste sábado(3) que os Estados Unidos vão “governar” a Venezuela até que ocorra uma transição política, após a operação militar para retirar o líder venezuelano, Nicolás Maduro, do país.   “Vamos governar o país até que possamos realizar uma transição pacífica, adequada e sensata”, disse em uma coletiva de imprensa, acrescentando que as forças americanas estavam prontas para uma segunda onda de ataques, “muito maior”, se necessário.
