02:12Now is the time for us to turn towards our neighbors

02:16Stand with them and return to community life

02:20A city for all will require all of us to fill our streets, our schools, our houses of faith, our PTAs and our block associations

02:31As we support this mayor in making an affordable city a reality for all of us

02:39New York City for a place that has taught the world how difference can become strength

02:45How survival can become solidarity

02:48How strangers can become neighbors

02:50And for being a place that taught us that a young immigrant democratic socialist Muslim

02:57Can be bold enough to run and brave enough to win

03:00Not by abandoning conviction

03:04But by standing firmly within it

03:06Not by shrinking who he is

03:08But by trusting that authenticity can move a city towards justice

03:13We thank you for the beautiful diversity of this city

03:17For a people formed across continents and generations

03:20Across race and religion, culture and class

03:24Teach us to never see that diversity as something to manage or fear

03:28But as a sacred trust, a collective inheritance

03:31That expands our moral imagination and strengthens our shared future

03:49And remind him that leadership is not about power but about proximity
