00:01Body dysmorphia is an obsessive focus on one's flaws whether these flaws are
00:07perceived flaws or real. Body dysmorphia is often confused with OCD or
00:14obsessive-compulsive disorder but what separates body dysmorphia from OCD is
00:19that the preoccupation is exclusively related to their appearance. That's when
00:26it all started for me was junior high and that's when I started to count
00:29calories as well and I became very conscious of my body and how it looked.
00:33The average girl becomes aware of female body standards around age 9. I get that
00:39all the time. Oh you look like a whale dancing or you're gonna die at 50 years
00:43old. There's something with the world that's wrong that they think that it's
00:46okay to have people not feel perfect. What is it that is brainwashing us all to
00:52think that we're fat? If you're looking at a screen or you're looking at a TV you're
00:57never gonna be able to listen to yourself and your gut your intuition
01:01speaks to you in those moments where you're quiet. I've been literally dying to
01:07be a size zero my whole life and yet here is this whole world. Regulations put on
01:12people in society nowadays so many expectations for what you need to be. The
01:17media has been programming you, your family has been programming you for as long
01:21as you have lived. That programming is there because advertisers want to sell
01:27you something that you're not. Oh there's this and this and this wrong with you let
01:31me sell you something so you can feel like you're right. The supplement companies
01:35teas and wraps and waist trainers steroids people are altering their bodies and
01:41then going and saying that they they did that in the gym and selling their
01:44workout programs. Where's the best place to hide something? In plain sight. If you're like
01:50Miley Cyrus you get to be naked on a wrecking ball in your picture and that
01:54stays up and then you Karina and you're fat in a bikini then your Instagram gets
01:58deleted seven times. So many people get caught up with social media and the things
02:04that you see in press and television and thinking that it's all like that. Every
02:08piece of advertising is falsified. Everything is airbrushed. No woman looks
02:12like what they look like in these ads.
02:20these ads are biasked.
