Interview with Jared Bush and Byron Howard
Transcript
00:00In the first movie, and we talked about mammals, yes, we also talked about other environments that might exist out there, like Outback Island.
00:05Outback Island.
00:06It was something that we discussed at length in the first movie, and we have an allusion to it. Is that the right word?
00:12Sure.
00:12You could say that.
00:13It exists now?
00:14It exists, yep.
00:15Well, you know, there's other things like, we actually did discuss reptiles at length.
00:20In the first film, it's all about predator and prey, but reptiles, they're kind of both, and so that didn't really work for that.
00:27But there's early versions of the first utopia. I remember we had like a map, and turtle-topia was on it, and we're like, one day, and I think at one point, there was a street sign that actually had it, and I don't think that shot made the final film, not because we didn't want there to be reptiles in it, but that shot just wasn't in it, but I think the idea that reptiles would be part of it was always something that we had.
00:46And then you're going to meet our very impressive razorback hog, Hogbottom, and Corey Loftus did these really, really cool character designs, and that's a character we're bringing back through, so it's fun to have her in the movie.
