00:38He stowed away on a ship, sneaked off into a rowboat, and landed on Tangerina Island, when the air smelled like oranges and the trees giggled when tickled.
00:48There, he met a grumpy rhino with a terrible toothache, a parrot who only spoke in pirate rhymes, and a sneezing lion with a cold who just wanted someone to read him a bedtime story.
01:04My father helped them all, using clever tricks from his backpack, a toothbrush for the rhino, a bag of lollipops for the parrot, and a handkerchief, and a storybook for the lion.
01:18At last, he tiptoed into Wild Island, where the jungle was tangled and wild.
01:24The animals were big and bossy, crocodiles, monkeys, and tigers who didn't want anyone to tick their dragon.
01:32But my father had a plan.
01:36He used chewing gum, a hairbrush, magnifying glasses, and even a yo-yo to distract them.
01:43He gave the crocodiles striped lollipops to line up like a bridge.
01:48The monkeys got a game of pick-up sticks.
01:52And the fierce gorilla?
01:54Well, he got a mirror and a comb, and was so distracted admiring his fur that he forgot to be scary.
02:01At last, deep in the jungle, my father found the baby dragon tied up with vines, looking very sad.
02:10You came, said the dragon with a sniffle.
02:13I thought I'd never get out of here.
02:16With one swoosh of the magic magnifying glasses, the vines sparkled and poof.
02:23Unraveled.
02:23The dragon jumped up and flapped his wings with joy.
02:28Climb on, he cried.
02:31And up they soared, into the stars, my father and the dragon, off to adventures beyond the clouds.
02:39And that, dear friend, is how my father made his first dragon friend.
02:43But between you and me, that was just the beginning of their adventures.
