00:00The burglary exposed security lapses at the world's most visited museum.
00:06Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're exploring the most shocking,
00:09disturbing, and infamous true crime cases across the world that took place in 2025.
00:14Federal prosecutors say 21-year-old Gavin Weisenberg and 20-year-old Tanner Thomas of Texas
00:20plotted to invade a Haitian island.
00:24Texas terror teachers.
00:26When parents drop off their children at school,
00:28it's expected that they'll be well looked after.
00:30Documents reveal three former Tyler ISD employees allegedly taped together
00:35the hands of a student with disabilities and forced the student to walk for hours.
00:41However, for one child at Tyler High School in Texas in March 2025,
00:46that really wasn't the case when their grandmother picked them up after school
00:49and saw their distress and injuries.
00:51The unnamed student, who has Down syndrome,
00:53was allegedly punished by a teacher in the Disability Support Services Department,
00:57Christina Haas, and her two aides, Priscilla Gutierrez and June Tryon,
01:01after apparently making a rude gesture.
01:04A spokesperson for Tyler ISD says an investigation was launched into the matter
01:08as soon as it was made known to staff.
01:11So, they reportedly forced the student to walk in circles for over four hours,
01:16tied their hands with tape, and shouted at them,
01:18which was captured on the school's CCTV.
01:21The terrible trio was fired and criminally charged.
01:24But the district has confirmed they are no longer employees of Tyler ISD.
01:30The Hamburg train station attack.
01:32On a Friday evening in May 2025,
01:34the Hamburg Central Railway Station in Germany was packed with people.
01:38This attack took place, as you've said, at Hamburg's main rail station.
01:43That's right in the center of the city,
01:46and it's a key transport hub where, incidentally,
01:51the carrying of weapons, including knives.
01:53However, rather than a typical train journey,
01:56passengers were soon thrown into chaos.
01:58Identified as Lydia S. in reports,
02:00a woman reportedly began attacking people at random with a knife.
02:04It appears to have been an indiscriminate attack that took place on a platform.
02:10After 18 individuals sustained injuries,
02:12two people, teenage Syrian refugee Mohammed al-Mohammed
02:16and Abu Bakr Sadiq Agaya from Chechnya,
02:18managed to disarm and subdue Lydia until the police arrived shortly after.
02:22Thankfully, no one was killed in the attack.
02:25Lydia was charged with multiple attempted manslaughter offenses as details emerged about
02:30her history of mental health issues and that she had been released from a psychiatric hospital
02:34the day before the attack.
02:36They say that it appears that the suspect acted alone.
02:41An intense investigation, of course, is now underway to discover any motive.
02:46The murder of Sanaa Youssef.
02:48Teenager Youssef was a big social media star in Pakistan
02:51as she promoted education for girls and the Chitrali culture,
02:55earning her over half a million followers on Instagram.
02:58Sanaa had more than a million followers across TikTok and Instagram,
03:02posting music clips, fashion, and brand promotion.
03:05According to her family,
03:06the bright star would use the cash from her work to help others.
03:09This popularity, unfortunately, drew Umar Hayat's attention.
03:13He contacted her to offer to meet up, which Youssef rejected.
03:17Police have said, as they believe,
03:18that Umar Hayat had repeatedly tried to meet her
03:22and had those attempts rejected by Sanaa.
03:26In June 2025, Hayat broke into Youssef's home in Islamabad.
03:30After fleeing the scene, Hayat was arrested and confessed to his crime,
03:34leading to a murder charge.
03:35This incident sparked fear among Pakistani women
03:38that there are no safe spaces for them,
03:40either online or in public.
03:42Wherever they feel,
03:43if the woman is doing, making her own choices
03:46or trying to get out of their control,
03:49they will just use violence.
03:52The Karen Reed case.
03:53In 2022, John O'Keefe,
03:56a police officer in Boston, Massachusetts,
03:58was found severely injured outside another cop's home.
04:01When O'Keefe didn't return home,
04:03Reed repeatedly texted him
04:05and asked two friends to return to the house in Canton.
04:08They discovered his body
04:09at the height of the blizzard near a fire hydrant.
04:11The night before,
04:12he and his partner Reed had been at a party there
04:15until O'Keefe vanished.
04:17Sadly, he didn't survive.
04:19Reed was arrested and charged
04:20with fatally running over O'Keefe with her vehicle.
04:22However, she alleged that she was being set up by the police.
04:26Karen Reed was framed for a murder she did not commit.
04:31In April 2025, after the first trial ended in a hung jury,
04:36Reed was acquitted of murdering O'Keefe.
04:38In November, Reed issued a lawsuit
04:40against the Massachusetts State Police
04:42and others for allegedly setting her up for O'Keefe's murder
04:45and protecting the real killers.
04:47Shortly after, the case was moved to the federal court.
04:50Karen Reed filed a lawsuit last week against eight people,
04:53five witnesses who were in the house
04:54the night John O'Keefe died,
04:55and three police investigators she says tried to frame her
04:58and in doing so, violated her civil rights.
05:01That is, of course, a federal issue.
05:04And because of that,
05:04the defendants in Reed's lawsuit have now moved it
05:07from the state court in Bristol County
05:08to the federal court in Boston.
05:10The Amsterdam attack.
05:12It was a typical afternoon
05:13in the St. Nikolausstraat area
05:15near Dam Square in Amsterdam, the Netherlands,
05:17as tourists and locals
05:18wandered the streets in March 2025.
05:20However, screams echoed around
05:23as a person reported as Roman D began his attacks.
05:26Armed with multiple knives,
05:28the man from Donetsk, Ukraine,
05:30allegedly indiscriminately attacked people.
05:32After five people were injured by him,
05:34Roman attempted to flee.
05:36However, an unnamed British tourist tackled Roman,
05:39injuring the attacker's leg,
05:41and held him until the police arrived
05:42to arrest the Ukrainian.
05:44Thankfully, no one was killed.
05:46In the aftermath, reports emerged
05:48that Roman was a soldier
05:49who deserted the Ukrainian army
05:51after a brain injury,
05:52which, according to his former colleagues,
05:54led to him demonstrating concerning behavior.
05:57The morgue horror in Houston.
05:59In February, 2025,
06:01shortly after passing away the month before,
06:03Charles Roy Rodriguez's body arrived
06:05at the Memorial Mortuary and Crematory
06:07in Houston, Texas.
06:08Investigated.
06:09Investigators say Laudermil is accused
06:11of mutilating a man's body
06:13inside this Bel Air mortuary about a month ago.
06:16Working as the embalmer was Amber Page Laudermilk,
06:19who was meant to prepare Rodriguez for cremation.
06:22However, when she discovered
06:23that he had been charged with assault in 2001
06:25and was on the register,
06:27Laudermilk snapped.
06:28This defendant was an instructor on embalming
06:32and was teaching a class
06:34and did this in front of the class.
06:36She attacked the body,
06:37focusing on the lower half in particular.
06:40When an embalming trainee saw what was happening,
06:42Laudermilk allegedly threatened them
06:44by stating they didn't see anything.
06:45However, after the funeral director
06:48also examined the damage to the body,
06:50the police were called.
06:51Laudermilk was charged with abuse of a corpse
06:53and fired by her workplace.
06:55The Texas Funeral Service Commission
06:57suspended Laudermilk's license Tuesday
06:59after determining an imminent threat
07:01to public health, safety, or welfare.
07:03The Filach attack.
07:04In February, 2025,
07:06Al-Addin al-Halabi,
07:08a food delivery worker from Syria,
07:10was driving down the street in Filach, Austria,
07:12when he spotted injured people
07:13and the alleged perpetrator,
07:15identified as Ahmed G.,
07:17also from Syria.
07:18When a man randomly began
07:20attacking passers-by with a knife,
07:23several others were injured
07:24and taken to hospital.
07:25Al-Halabi reportedly rammed his vehicle
07:27into Ahmed to stop the violence.
07:29However, before he could get out
07:31to make sure Ahmed stayed subdued,
07:33people swarmed the car,
07:35believing Al-Halabi was involved as well.
07:37Instead, after driving away,
07:39he called the police,
07:40who arrested Ahmed.
07:41A 42-year-old delivery man
07:43did the right thing.
07:44He drove towards the suspect
07:45and thus prevented any further victims.
07:48He confessed to having attacked
07:49five people with a knife,
07:50taking one life.
07:52The investigation found
07:53that Ahmed had extremist views
07:54and sought to take
07:55as many lives as possible.
07:57Al-Halabi, for his heroics,
07:58received death threats from extremists,
08:01but received awards for his bravery.
08:03The Corinthia governor
08:04called for the harshest consequences
08:06for this unbelievable atrocity.
08:08Iran's black widow.
08:09Throughout her life in Iran,
08:11Kultum Akhbari seemed to be
08:13one of the world's unluckiest people.
08:15From the looks of it,
08:16Kultum looks like an ordinary
08:17middle-aged lady.
08:19But behind this mask
08:21is the face of a true sinister killer.
08:24After all,
08:25despite having many husbands,
08:2711 of them died of natural causes.
08:29However, it wasn't all natural.
08:31Akhbari had been poisoning her husbands
08:33with medications,
08:34leading to them receiving medical care
08:36and recovering,
08:37adding to the deception.
08:38Akhbari is believed
08:39to have slow poisoned
08:4111 of her husbands
08:43over 22 years.
08:45Upon returning home,
08:46she'd purposely increased the dose
08:48until they perished.
08:49However,
08:49when the son of a surviving victim
08:51spoke to the son
08:52of her last murder victim
08:53about the poisoning,
08:54the police were informed
08:55and arrested her.
08:56Akhbari confessed to taking
08:58the 11 lives,
08:59but there's speculation
09:00she may have taken more.
09:01In September 2025,
09:03Akhbari received
09:0410 death sentences
09:05and had to pay
09:06one victim's family
09:07quote,
09:08blood money.
09:08As Iran reels
09:10from the shockwaves
09:11of the serial murder saga
09:12of the Black Widow,
09:14there are reports
09:15which say that
09:16the victim count
09:17could in fact
09:18be higher.
09:19The Haitian Island Invasion
09:20In November 2025,
09:23news broke about
09:24the disturbing charges
09:25against Texas duo
09:26Gavin Weisenberg
09:27and Tanner Thomas.
09:28Federal officials
09:29announced the indictments
09:30for Gavin Weisenberg
09:31and Tanner Thomas.
09:32For a year,
09:34they had planned
09:34to recruit people
09:35in D.C.'s unhoused community
09:37to aid them
09:37in invading
09:38Haiti's Gonov Island.
09:40The duo wanted
09:41to take over the land,
09:42leading to them
09:43killing the men
09:43and enslaving
09:44the women and children.
09:45They'd signed up
09:46for classes
09:46to develop skills
09:47to achieve
09:48their alleged twisted plan,
09:49such as Thomas
09:50joining the Air Force
09:51and Weisenberg
09:52getting firefighting training.
09:54Prosecutors say
09:55Thomas prepared
09:56for the attack
09:56by enlisting
09:57in the Air Force
09:58for military training
09:59and Weisenberg
10:00enrolled in a
10:01fire training academy
10:02but later flunked out.
10:04On top of all this,
10:05Weisenberg and Thomas
10:06were also charged
10:07with developing
10:08indecent material.
10:10While both
10:10have denied the charges
10:11and have stated
10:12their intentions
10:12to plead not guilty,
10:14they could face
10:15up to 30 years in jail.
10:17They face 15
10:18to 30 years in prison
10:19if convicted
10:20of that offense.

10:36The Louvre heist.
10:38Filled with valuable artifacts,
10:40you'd expect
10:40the Louvre Museum
10:41in Paris, France
10:42to have the highest
10:43security features.
10:44So that's what we know.
10:45It is, of course,
10:46an enormously bad bit
10:50of news for the Louvre gallery
10:52and a very dramatic event.
10:56Yet with cameras
10:57that didn't survey
10:58the area properly
10:58and the password
11:00to the security system
11:01being Louvre,
11:02it wasn't.
11:03In October 2025,
11:05a group of thieves
11:06took advantage of this.
11:07Dressed as construction workers
11:08and using a moving lift,
11:10they broke inside.
11:11The robbery lasted
11:12less than five minutes.
11:14At 9.34 a.m.,
11:16two men climbed
11:16to the first floor.
11:18At 9.35 a.m.,
11:20they broke the glass,
11:21entered the gallery
11:22and attacked the display cases
11:24protecting the jewelry.
11:25The group stole
11:26several historical pieces
11:27valued at around
11:28$102 million,
11:30all within four minutes
11:31inside the building.
11:33However,
11:33they dropped and damaged
11:35the crown of Empress Eugénie,
11:37which is the only
11:38recovered item so far.
11:39In November,
11:40after four people
11:41had been charged
11:42with the heist
11:42the month before,
11:43another four suspects
11:44were detained
11:45for their possible involvement.
11:47But we don't know
11:47and what the prosecutor
11:48did say yesterday
11:49was that though
11:50they didn't have
11:50the jewels in their possession,
11:52she was still hopeful
11:53that they would be retrieved.
