00:00Donald Trump has been making efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war and in this regard,
00:06Trump hosted Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
00:12Trump announced that he had also held a very productive phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
00:18Without revealing any details, Trump dialed Putin before the meeting with Zelensky and the call lasted for two and a half hours.
00:27After the meeting in Florida, both leaders struck an optimistic tone,
00:31repeatedly suggesting that a peace deal was closer than at any previous point.
00:37Yet they also acknowledged that several issues, particularly territory security guarantees
00:41and the future of occupied infrastructure remain unsolved.
00:47Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that a full agreement on the peace plan could be reached by January 2026
00:56but also added that Trump has made significant progress in talks on ending Russia's war in Ukraine.
01:02He agreed that their teams would meet again next week to finalize outstanding issues.
01:06We had a terrific meeting.
01:12We discussed a lot of things.
01:15As you know, I had an excellent phone call with President Putin that lasted for over two hours.
01:20We discussed a lot of points.
01:22And I do think we're getting a lot closer, maybe very close.
01:25I do, I do, I think he is.
01:29I think they both are.
01:31What was the message of Putin?
01:32How was the message of Putin?
01:35Got to make a deal.
01:36Got to get it done.
01:37Too many people dying.
01:39And I think both presidents want to make a deal.
01:43I believe that.
01:44I'm going to brief you.
01:45All right.
01:46He settled eight wars and this is the most difficult one.
01:49I thought it would be in the middle of the back.
01:51This is the most difficult one.
01:53But we're going to get it done.
01:54We're going to have a great meeting today.
01:56This gentleman has worked very hard.
02:00He's very brave.
02:01And his people are very brave.
02:02I'm also calling President Putin back after the meeting.
02:06And we'll continue the negotiation.
02:09Pretty complex, but not that complex.
02:11How long do you think it will take to get this last little bit, as you say, finished?
02:14What are we talking about?
02:15So if it went really well, you know, maybe a few weeks.
02:18And if it went poorly longer, and if it went really poorly, it's not going to happen.
02:23That would be a shame.
02:25There's that chance also.
02:26You know, it's possible it doesn't happen.
02:28But, you know, in a few weeks, we will know one way or the other, I think.
02:33But this is a very complex one.
02:36Do you want to put odds on it?
02:37What the bad is?
02:38I think we'll get it done.
02:40I don't want to say when, but I think we're going to get it done.
02:42Yeah.
02:42I mean, you know, there was a, what Zelensky called was a very good meeting that happened
02:46between Steve Vitkoff and Jared Kushner last week.
02:50And, you know, that followed up with this meeting before the year, end of the year, I should say.
02:55Again, the meeting lasted for more than two hours.
02:57You know, President Trump had talked to President Putin before he could meet Zelensky.
03:01And then I think he's shown more optimism as to be able to end this war, which, again, has been his number one priority after becoming the president.
03:11He even touted the fact that he could end this war in less than 24 hours with a few phone calls.
03:15So I think it was very interesting to see that this meeting happening right now.
03:19You know, President Trump, as we all know, is in Florida at Mar-a-Lago.
03:23You know, he's not in Washington, D.C.
03:24He's trying to spend time with his family for Christmas and New Year's.
03:27But he's still prioritizing this very important peace plan that was started by Steve Vitkoff and has been now handled by both Steve Vitkoff and Jared Kushner.
03:37The good thing is that Zelensky sounded optimistic.
03:40He believes that this could work out.
03:42You know, the other unfortunate part is we do not know when, as President Trump himself said, there's no deadline.
03:48You know, he wants he wants to see this war and he wants to bring peace, but there's no deadline.
03:52He hopes that this war could end very soon.
03:56Now, we also heard from Pranav, he was talking about how European leaders would be coming to Washington, D.C. very soon in January.
04:02And there could be more follow up conversations.
04:04But at least, you know, we've come a long way since the first time we saw Zelensky and President Trump meeting way back on February 18th of this year.
04:11You know, when we saw how he was talked on by Vice President Jantz and President Donald Trump.
04:16So it looks like things are going the right direction, according to President Trump.
04:19You know, it's confirmed like 90, 95 percent agreement on important stuff.
04:23But the territorial things, you know, the security guarantees, I think those are the big holding points.
04:28And also the fact that the Russians have to wet this plan and they have to agree to it.
04:33So, I think that the Russians have to agree to it.
