01:00All right, Mel, we thank you for that.
01:02We can tell you because of earlier results today, if the Giants lose, they officially would get the number one pick in the upcoming draft.
01:13If the Raiders lose, they'll be in the driver's seat, but nothing guaranteed until after next week.
01:20And here we go in Vegas, and this will be picked up by Deontay Banks.
01:25And he'll work his way just beyond the 20-yard line.
01:32So the quarterback, the rookie out of Mississippi, Jackson Dart, will get his 11th start of the season today, fourth in a row.
01:39Well, and he's coming off arguably his worst game of the season.
01:42When you look at last week, only completed a little over 50%.
01:46Only had seven completions, 33 yards.
01:49But like I said in the open, this is their quarterback of the future.
01:53They've seen enough from him.
01:54I think there's an excitement around this team and around this organization that they've got their quarterback.
01:59And they get it first down and 10 from their own 22.
02:04And he'll go to the air.
02:05Illuminor the block.
02:07And a quick throw to the 26-yard line.
02:09And it's grabbed there by Wendale Robinson with a gain of four.
02:13So the Giants will have to go with Robinson today, and they're going to run it with Tyrone Tracy.
02:22Well, Wendale Robinson closing in on 1,000 yards receiving.
02:25His most production is from the slot, a 5'8 receiver that likes to work the middle of the field.
02:31And speaking of him, he takes it on the handoff on that second down.
02:35And Tracy working his way for 10 and a first down up to the 36.
02:39Well, and Tyrone Tracy is the second guy that I'm looking for to get more opportunities today.
02:44Over 500 yards rushing.
02:46But the last two weeks averaging 4.5 yards a carry.
02:50Last week against the Vikings, 71 yards on 16 carries with the first and 10 handoff here.
02:57And then wrapped up on the line by Tyree Wilson, gain of four trend out near the 40.
03:01Well, and last week, now we've seen back-to-back running plays.
03:03Last week, they did run the first 15 plays of the game.
03:07They handed the ball off and ran the ball.
03:08So, with a pass on first down, now with back-to-back runs, leaning into that running game.
03:15Without a couple of starting offensive linemen today.
03:18Andrew Thomas, the left tackle is out.
03:20Second down and six.
03:21Underneath, Robinson again.
03:2342-yard line hit initially by White.
03:26And they'll put him at the 43.
03:28So, the left tackle is out.
03:29Andrew Thomas, one of the best.
03:31Their center, John Michael Schmitz, is out.
03:34Theo Johnson is ill.
03:35The tight end, and he's back in New York and not with the team.
03:41So, they're without three starters.
03:44And here they go on their first possession with a third down and three and Tracy on the move.
03:51Well, Kevin, you mentioned the backup offensive lineman.
03:53A lot of times, if you're filling in there, you tend to lean on the running game because that's something from a speed standpoint as we see.
04:00A penalty here pre-snap.
04:02Right tackle looked like he moved.
04:04False start.
04:05Offense, number 72.
04:07Five-yard penalty.
04:09Third down.
04:09That's a limonore who has started every game at that position for the Giants this season.
04:15You see him right there on the bottom of the screen.
04:19Just getting an early start rocking back.
04:21Raiders today, no Crosby, as Mel was just talking about.
04:27No starting safety.
04:28Jeremy Chin, he is out.
04:31So, two starters out on the defense for Las Vegas with the penalty.
04:35Third down and eight.
04:39And darts.
04:40And he's got the first down to the 50 and caught again by Robinson.
04:45Rundale Robinson comes up with another grab.
04:48He's top nine in the NFL in receptions.
04:50Picks up 17 to the 45 of Las Vegas.
04:54He's just going to run the side route.
04:55But watch the two corners out here.
04:56They run into each other.
04:59Makes it an easy pitch and catch.
05:01Maybe not an easy catch.
05:02He double had the double clutch.
05:04He got it in before his feet got out of bounds.
05:05But you see the number of targets and how well he's done so far.
05:09He's having a career year.
05:10Here's a first and ten.
05:12And they pressure Dart.
05:13Who goes down and tapped right there by Tonka Hemingway.
05:18Comes through.
05:19And the quarterback slipping on the surface.
05:21And they're back to the 41 of New York with a big time loss of 14.
05:26We're going to see what he sees right here.
05:28And you get an inside rush on the left.
05:29He's able to get away and spin out.
05:31But then he loses his footing.
05:33The Raiders have had problems.
05:34Even with Max Crosby.
05:35They have problems getting pressure on opposing quarterbacks.
05:39And with no Max Crosby today.
05:41It'll be hard to come by.
05:42That time Dart just losing his footing.
05:44So here's Dart in the first half last week against the Vikings.
05:48One completion in the first half.
05:50Already three for three to start here in Nevada.
05:53Second down.
05:5424.
05:55Long way to go.
05:56And that's dropped.
05:57Bellinger was wet.
05:58That ball could be live.
06:00They blow it as Greedy Vance picks it up.
06:01On the field is incomplete pass.
06:04Third down.
06:04Incomplete Bellinger.
06:05Took a wicked hit.
06:07Third and 24 coming up.
06:08Well, and I thought maybe it was helmet to helmet.
06:10I guess we'll see on the replay here.
06:13Right in the middle of the field.
06:19It's hard to tell from that angle.
06:21But Polamau gets him right underneath the chin or in the chest.
06:25Nope.
06:25It looked like he was low enough there.
06:27They missed a good tackle coming in and breaking that pass up.
06:30Third and 24 right now.
06:32Running back is Singletary.
06:45Close to start.
06:47Offense number 72.
06:48Five-yard penalty.
06:50Third down.
06:50The Luminor once again, Kevin, just rocked early, anticipating that snap.
06:55Well, it's not like it's loud in here.
06:58Once again, right there, just getting a little bit too early.
07:01Easy call there.
07:04It's hard to convert on third down.
07:06And last week, they were only 2 of 10 on third down.
07:08But third and 29 makes it incredibly difficult.
07:12What started off as a real promising drive, Kevin?
07:14It did indeed.
07:15Third down and 29.
07:16Bowe is the left tackle.
07:18Outside they go here.
07:19Singletary will back his way to the 41.
07:23Brought down by White.
07:25And they got a long way to go.
07:27Gain of six right there.
07:28Fourth down.
07:29Here comes the punting unit for the G-men.
07:31Well, like I said, it started off as a promising drive.
07:33They got across midfield.
07:34Had a first down, but then all of a sudden you slip and trying to escape a sack.
07:40Taking a 14-yard loss and a couple of penalties thrown in.
07:44So Jamie Gillen, who is in the bottom three and gross in net in the NFL, will punt.
07:52And Alex Bachman is back, a former practice squatter for the Giants.
07:58As New York punts on their first possession.
08:00Bachman at the 15.
08:02And then brought down.
08:03Nice play.
08:04Art Green was on him.
08:07Followed him well.
08:09Giants have had it.
08:10They just punt.
08:11And the Raiders get it right now with Gino Smith on CBS.
08:15Giants had it first.
08:17And they just punt it.
08:18Here's Gino Smith, 35-year-old quarterback.
08:21First year with the Raiders, formerly with Seattle.
08:23And, of course, he began with the Jets.
08:25Well, the season started off slow for him and too many interceptions.
08:28But he's gotten squared away here the last few weeks.
08:30And he's playing much better this second part of the season.
08:32He's got the rookie running back.
08:33And Trent talked about Ashton Jenney, who takes it right here.
08:36Drilled by Burns.
08:37Brought down.
08:38Good penetration.
08:39And they are stymied at the 14, losing two.
08:42So, a couple of big-name players are out for the Raiders today.
08:48We're going to keep track, though.
08:49Brian Burns, who's the number two soccer in the NFL.
08:52Well, we just saw the play that he made in the backfield.
08:54And he's had an impressive year.
08:56And had had season and career highs so far already going in with two games left.
09:00And then you saw Michael Mayer at tight end with no Brock Bowers.
09:03Look for him to get more opportunities.
09:04Second down, 12.
09:06Messy pocket.
09:07And Smith caught across the way.
09:10Beautiful grab.
09:11Dante Thornton.
09:12Incomplete at the chalk.
09:14On the paint.
09:14Incomplete pass.
09:16It'll be third down and 12.
09:18Yeah, the left tackle.
09:20Colton Miller is out.
09:21And the tight end, Brock Bowers, gone.
09:24They're working on Banks.
09:25Because a couple starters are out in the secondary today for the Giants.
09:28Well, and Banks, a former first rounder who has had his struggles his first couple years in the league.
09:33That time, able to get a push in the back to knock him out.
09:35That second foot's not able to get down in bounds.
09:38But if you get one-on-one matchups, I would think the Raiders are going to go after Banks most of the day.
09:42He's in for Cordell Flott, who is out.
09:44Tyler Newben is out.
09:46Nunez Roche is out on the defensive line.
09:48Underneath they go.
09:49Here's the tight end mirror that Trent was talking about.
09:52Holland makes the stop.
09:53Just beyond the 25.
09:55And they pick up 11 on the plane.
09:58So, it's fourth down.
10:02They're going to bring out the punting unit.
10:03Watch as he slow releases.
10:05He gets a chip on the outside.
10:07He lands on top of the defender and rolls forward.
10:10But he's still going to be just short of the first down.
10:18A.J. Cole will punt.
10:20And deep back is Osheski.
10:22Inside the 30 for the Giants.
10:25At the 25.
10:26And the challenge flag is out.
10:30Pete Carroll, the 74-year-old first-year head coach for the Raiders, wants to talk about the spot.
10:37So, like I said, when he was initially hit, he lands on top of the defender and rolls.
10:42It looked like he was just short.
10:44Really on the previous play, he's being challenged by Las Vegas.
10:47And he's under review.
10:49But as we take another look at it, we'll see if he, uh, watch how he lands on top of Holland and then rolls over.
10:5826 was the yard line to get.
11:01His shoulder hit, it looked like, shy of the 26.
11:05There's a challenge and we'll step aside.
11:07Placement will stand.
11:13The elbow and the shoulder hitting at the 25.
11:18And so the challenge lost and a timeout lost for the Raiders.
11:22Who now are in punting formation.
11:25Cole will let it fly indoors here and Osheski is back.
11:27And drifting to the 21 and out of bounds near the 27 for the Giants.
11:35Second possession coming up for Dart.
11:38No score early on back in 30 seconds.
11:41After this from Uber Eats.
11:43Jackson Dart only had seven completions last week.
11:49Trent tied for the fourth least in an NFL game in 25 years.
11:53He's already gone four or five here.
11:55He looked very sharp on that first drive and getting the ball out of his hands quick on some quick throws.
11:59It's Tracy on first and ten.
12:01And brought down by Butler on the line.
12:03No gain of the play.
12:05Second and ten.
12:05And so as we said when we came on the Giants with the loss officially would get the number one pick.
12:12If the Raiders lost it is still in question.
12:19And you have no comment on that.
12:21I don't.
12:23Well nobody's trying to lose.
12:25Right.
12:25You know as players.
12:27All I can talk about is from a player standpoint.
12:29And if you're out there you're putting yourself on tape.
12:32Right.
12:33And you're putting your you've got to go out and.
12:35You'll give it your all.
12:37And so I know as players.
12:39Max Crosby as Melanie told us at the beginning of this.
12:42Max Crosby's like I don't care about the draft pick.
12:44I'm going out to play.
12:46And ultimately he was shut down this week and put on IR.
12:50But I can tell you all those guys that are on the field.
12:52It's.
12:53This is.
12:54This means something to him.
12:56Meanwhile Robinson just caught his fourth pass.
12:58He's going for a thousand yards.
12:59And there's another.
13:00He lost it as he came down.
13:02And hit by Critty Vance.
13:04As he hit the deck.
13:04Ball was incomplete.
13:07On a pass from Dart.
13:08Vance was over there covering.
13:10Putting unit back out there again for the Giants.
13:13Yeah.
13:13Wendell Robinson going for one thousand yards.
13:16And off to a good start here in the first quarter.
13:17Except couldn't hold on here.
13:19Well similar to the ball.
13:20Or similar to the route that he had on the first drive.
13:23Where it was just an out route.
13:24This time the ball was high and to the inside.
13:27Not the most accurate throw from Dart.
13:30Obviously he got his hands on it and had a chance to come up with the catch.
13:33But what a difficult one as he tried to extend for the first down.
13:36And not able to complete the catch.
13:38Jimmy Gillen is going to punt for a second time for the Giants.
13:41And Alex Bachman is back with the catch at the 23.
13:47Hang time there.
13:47It was 4-4.
13:49And he had Fox and others you saw making the stop for the Giants on special teams.
13:55Halfway through the first and no score from Las Vegas on CBS.
14:01You can always count on Sundays right through the AFC Championship game.
14:05With the NFL on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.
14:08So the Raiders had gone nine consecutive games, Trent.
14:12Without topping 70 yards on the ground.
14:14Then their rookie, Ash and Jenny, had 126 against a good defense last week in Houston.
14:20Yeah, back-to-back games over 70 yards rushing.
14:22And averaging four and a half yards a carry the last couple weeks.
14:26First and ten.
14:27Smith to the air.
14:28And he's got the title, Mayer.
14:30And he'll gallop out near the 40-yard line where he is brought down by Okereke.
14:33And Trent, they get 16 out there to the 40.
14:36And we mentioned it already, but he's going to continue to get more opportunities.
14:39We know Brock Bauer this season, a little bit over 100 yards.
14:43Bauer's beating the main target when he's in there.
14:46But you're going to see just dragging underneath.
14:48He's the second read for Geno.
14:50He gets the ball out of his hands quickly and gives him time.
14:52To get some yards after catch.
14:53Yeah, they miss Bowers, who, by the way, is going to the Pro Bowl.
14:57Has put together a terrific season.
14:58Missed time this year.
14:59That's why the numbers are low.
15:01But he is one of the engines of this offense.
15:03First and ten.
15:04Here's Gentry.
15:05And he was brought down on the play by Raheem Lane, who was just brought off the practice squad.
15:12Second game this season.
15:14Gain of two right there.
15:16And out to the 42-yard line.
15:18Ashton Jenny, the number six overall pick in the draft.
15:21A rookie.
15:21Well, how about this company to be listed with?
15:24Ashton Jenny, five rushing and five receiving touchdowns.
15:27And any time you throw in Doak Walker and Gale Sayers, I mean, those are some legends right there.
15:33Plus, just getting their pictures up on the air is fun, huh?
15:37Second down and eight.
15:38Giants have had it twice.
15:39They've punted both times.
15:40Asmuth to the air.
15:42Parham with the block.
15:43And the catch at the 45-yard line.
15:45Grab here by Trey Tucker.
15:49Yeah, Trey Tucker's having the best season of his career.
15:51Just the third year in the NFL.
15:53Now over 50 catches.
15:56And 600 yards.
15:57Putting up the best numbers, as I said, of his young career.
16:00Five touchdowns on the season as well.
16:01But Gino Smith has started this game three of four last week at Houston.
16:0616-23.
16:08Third down and three.
16:09Short they go.
16:10And Shia, the first down.
16:12As they get to the 49.
16:13Gentry with the catch.
16:15Hit by Belton.
16:16Fourth and one.
16:17And they're going to keep the offense on the field, it looks like.
16:20Yeah, this has been the trend around the league, is when you get the ball around midfield,
16:25if it's fourth and short, you go for it.
16:29That's what the Raiders are going to do.
16:31I would think that they're going to at least try a hard count to get an easy one.
16:39But that play, as you said, now it's under 10 seconds getting up to the line of scrimmage.
16:48Fourth and one.
16:49And Gentry remains in the game.
16:52And the call.
16:53The hesitation and the first down run.
16:56He's down to the 46 around his ankles.
16:59Darius Alexander.
17:01And on the play, he picks up six, moving the chains for the Raiders on their second possession.
17:07Well, it looked like the Giants were in position.
17:09You see some penetration right away from Lawrence.
17:11And then right there at the attack, he's able to make the miss.
17:16Giants defense on fourth down.
17:18The opponents have now gone 12 for 16.
17:20They've had success.
17:21First and 10.
17:22Smith is chased here.
17:24Oh, look who's got it.
17:25Burns!
17:27And it's another sack for him.
17:29Brian Burns comes in for his 16th sack.
17:31There is no call in an incompletion.
17:33There is no call in a round.
17:34Number 80 was in the area.
17:35Second half.
17:36He was able to get the ball right at the end.
17:38I wasn't sure if he was going to be already on the ground.
17:40Burns looked like, you know, I was like you.
17:42I thought Burns was getting another sack.
17:44But Smith did a good job getting it away.
17:46Yeah, just before he goes down.
17:48Let's see if he's on the ground.
17:50And nope, he's able to get rid of it.
17:52He got it.
17:52He sure did.
17:53And there was a tight end right there.
17:55Or no, that's, what is that, Thornton there?
17:58That's, he's able to get it in the vicinity.
18:00Ian Thomas, the tight end.
18:02Here is a second and 10.
18:03They go to Tucker on the end of the round.
18:06And brought down by Dane Belton.
18:10Who's starting at safety today for the injured Tyler Newbin.
18:14And a gain of four.
18:16They're down to the 42, 41-yard line.
18:21The big play has been the 16-yard pass to the tight end, Mayor.
18:27Third down and five.
18:30And they come down the near side and tied at the 15-yard line.
18:37It's Tucker.
18:39Who is in on the play by Lane.
18:4115.
18:42Big completion, 26 yards.
18:44First down for the Raiders.
18:46Well, Tucker's just going to work his way up the right inside end to the numbers.
18:50Watch how he's going to expand and work up.
18:52When you get middle of the field close,
18:54you keep your eyes to the middle to hold that safety.
18:57Knowing that there's no help to the outside,
18:59you can take him away so he doesn't take too big of a hit.
19:03Good job by Geno there.
19:05Working his eyes and then the location of the throw.
19:09Two big completions on this drive.
19:11First and 10.
19:12Gentry.
19:14To about the 12-yard line.
19:1716 to Mayor.
19:1826 to Tucker right there as they continue to move.
19:21They have a new offensive coordinator
19:22who is taking over for the fired Chip Kelly back in week 11.
19:26That's Greg Olson who is now calling the plays.
19:29A veteran in the NFL.
19:30Well, it's his third time being the play caller for the Raiders.
19:34As you said, he was at quarterback coach and then when Chip Kelly was fired,
19:38he was moved up to the play caller.
19:43Talking with Geno Smith, though, it's still Chip Kelly's offense, the terminology.
19:47So that's been a hard part.
19:49Not necessarily the offense Greg runs, but acclimating to what this...
19:54Oh, no.
19:54It's picked off on that second down and seven grab here.
19:58Bobby Okereke breaking a tackle on the play at Forsyth
20:02and then takes it in to Raider territory.
20:07Geno Smith has thrown the most interceptions of any quarterback in the NFL.
20:12A 43-yard return.
20:14Bobby Okereke takes it the other way.
20:17Give him a picture.
20:18This round.
20:20New York.
20:21Okereke goes with the receiver.
20:23He drops back, but then he passes it off at zone coverage.
20:26So he passes it off and then he undercuts the tight end
20:29and able to get the interception.
20:31Just the seventh interception by the G-men on defense this year.
20:36Jake, where the cuts?
20:40Welcome back to Allegiant Stadium just off the strip here in Las Vegas.
20:43A big interception stopping a drive by the giant defense on the quarterback, Geno Smith.
20:49Well, Okereke, he's going to be the one in zone coverage.
20:51Watch as the ball snaps.
20:52He passes off Tucker in the zone and then he undercuts the throw, able to get the interception
20:59and great field position for the Giants.
21:02And Okereke with his sixth career interception, his first in two years.
21:08He leads him in tackles.
21:10He's one of the best in the NFL top ten, in fact, in tackles this season.
21:14Stopping that drive deep in giant territory.
21:17Here comes Dart taking over with a first and ten.
21:21Geno now 16 interceptions, most by a Raider quarterback since Carson Palmer back in 2011.
21:28And Singletary getting a block here from Bowe.
21:32And he takes it down to the 40 with a gain of four in a second and six.
21:37Well, now the Giants have to see what they can do.
21:39You know, you talk about points off their turnovers.
21:41You talk about good field position.
21:42They're on the other side of the 50s.
21:44So, trying to get some tempo going here and come away with points.
21:48Dart so far, five of seven.
21:52Robinson has been his big target.
21:53Four catches and 29 yards.
22:01Second down and six for Dart.
22:03Outside they go.
22:04Once again, he finds the reliable Robinson.
22:07Hit by Polamau.
22:09Down to the 34.
22:10Gain of six on the play.
22:11And they get the first down.
22:14Well, Robinson's the one that moves over.
22:16He's on the outside.
22:17They move him over before the snap.
22:19So, you think because none of the defense moves that it's going to be zone coverage.
22:23But instead, the Raiders go man coverage.
22:26And Robinson has the leverage with the outright to get the first down.
22:31Robinson in the absence of the injured Malik Neighbors has been filling that role and doing it well.
22:37With a couple tied ends.
22:38It's a first and ten.
22:39Faked to Singletary.
22:40Hit by Adams.
22:41And Singletary has it.
22:43And then he is grabbed by White.
22:44And spun down near the 30.
22:47And picks up four in the play.
22:51And it looked like it was going to be blown up with the blitz off the back side.
22:55Dart recognizes it and drifts over a little bit to get the throw off.
22:58What was your read on Dart's performance last week and the fact that the numbers did not stand out at all?
23:05Yeah, the numbers were bad for him.
23:07But the offense in general was bad.
23:08They only had 48 snaps on offense.
23:10And the first 15 plays were all runs.
23:13And 30 overall were runs.
23:14So really got no continuity or rhythm because they had no drives in first down.
23:18Devin Singletary, wheeling, getting a block from Slayton and down near the goal line.
23:24Make him at the one.
23:25Hit right there.
23:26Brought down by Johnson.
23:28Catch and run.
23:29Swerving for 29.
23:30First and goal, New York.
23:32Embo's going to be at the end of the line here.
23:35Watch Embo as this toss comes this direction.
23:37He pulls out in front.
23:40He's able to kick out.
23:4194 is reported as eligible.
23:4494 and 64 have reported as eligible.
23:50Well, we heard that one.
23:5194 and 64 reported for eligible.
23:53But down just before getting to the goal line.
23:56Good job by Embo.
23:57Coming around, using that speed and athleticism to kick it out.
24:00Good play by the rookie tackle.
24:01Green it, you're set.
24:02First and goal.
24:04Chapman with the lead block on the play.
24:07And they take it in.
24:08Touchdown.
24:10And they cash in on the Geno Smith interception by Okereke.
24:15Singletary from a yard away.
24:18And the Giants have scored first.
24:22Watch Runyon.
24:23He's going to be the one that kicks it out.
24:26See where the ball is if it crosses the line.
24:28Clearly across the line.
24:30And he landed on White.
24:31You're right.
24:38Good job by the outside part of that line.
24:40Collapse and things.
24:41Runyon pulls and kicks out to the outside.
24:43That allows Singletary to get inside and get across.
24:46So the defense got it.
24:50The offense answered.
24:53Dart now 7 of 9.
24:57Singletary has carried it three times.
24:59Tracy has carried it three times.
25:00And here is Ben Solves.
25:03A left-footed kicker who puts it up and in.
25:06This is the end of the fourth different kicker the Giants have used this season.
25:13But Smith at the 9.
25:16The pick by the linebacker Okereke.
25:19And a couple plays later it's Singletary from 1 for New York at the end of 1.
25:24Well, we're just coming back from where the Giants were able to get a touchdown out of it.
25:31It all started with Geno Smith, the interception.
25:34They had the ball down at the 12-yard line, Kevin.
25:36They were driving the football.
25:37And Okereke undercut the ball and was able to return it across midfield, setting the Giants up for great field position.
25:44And they were able to capitalize with the touchdown run.
25:49And Geno Smith throwing his 16th interception of the season.
25:54And the kick by Solves at the 14.
25:57It's picked up by the running back, Dylan Lowby, who tanks it up with Raheem Mostert out, inactive with an ankle and a knee injury.
26:06They have gone deeper on the kickoff return.
26:0928-yard return right there.
26:11And with the Steelers, Trent losing in Cleveland.
26:15We've got a good one next week with the Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens to decide the North.
26:20Well, that really set things up.
26:22When you look at all the different clinch playoff bursts, there'll be some jockeying for different positions.
26:27And then Carolina and Tampa, they face next week as well.
26:31So, a couple of divisions up in the air in Week 18.
26:35With Gentry in the back, it is first and ten from the 41.
26:43Ashton Gentry.
26:45And wrapped up and devoured by Dexter Lawrence-Mill.
26:49And no gain in the play.
26:50Well, Kev, it was all high fives and fist bumps for Bobby Okereke on the Giants bench after that interception.
26:55Charlie Bullen telling the front seven, stay on two as an Ashton Gentry.
26:59They've held him in check so far.
27:00Mike Kafka told us this week, these guys are motivated and dialed in.
27:04This is a business trip for them.
27:05And he said these are a bunch of alpha males and competitors who only care about winning.
27:09That's on full display down here on the Giants bench.
27:11It sure is.
27:12We've seen it early on.
27:14Mel Fanks outside the 40s.
27:15Second down in ten.
27:18So far, six of nine.
27:20And you see the movement.
27:22Well, just a little bit ago, we saw Charlie Bullen, who's taken over as defensive coordinator.
27:26Neutral zone infraction.
27:28Defense, number 97.
27:30Five-yard penalty.
27:31Second down.
27:31He replaced Shane Bowen about the same time that Greg Olson took over play calling for the Raiders.
27:37But this defense coming in, ranked 31st against the run, right now is dialed in on trying to stop number two.
27:44Raiders losing last week at Houston, 23-21.
27:48But Trent, they played perhaps their best game in a couple months.
27:52Yeah, they really did.
27:53And when you talk about, you know, we know what the records are coming into this.
27:57We know that both teams have lost nine in a row.
27:59But you want to see guys playing hard, and that's what you can see on the tape.
28:02Tied in Mayer.
28:03Okara K. there.
28:04And spun down at about the 46.
28:08And he picks up minimal gain.
28:11Maybe the length of a football.
28:12And that's about it.
28:13Third down coming up.
28:14Well, both these teams are dealing with a lot of multiple players on IR.
28:18Multiple players hurt or inactive.
28:20And starters.
28:21They're missing starters.
28:21But as you said, Kevin, it's getting opportunities for these young players
28:27and opportunity to stand out and put yourself on tape.
28:33Third down and five.
28:39Team has lacked a little bit at the receiver since they traded Jacoby Myers midseason right before the deadline.
28:46And here they go.
28:47Genji had to curl around and reeled it in.
28:51And working on Banks got the catch.
28:5343 of the Giants with a gain of 11 on third and five.
28:56Well, I'm not sure who this was to.
28:59Tucker is to the inside running an out route.
29:02And Genji is running almost like what we would call a bullets or a shoot route in our terminology or my terminology from when I was playing.
29:11But both guys right there.
29:13And Genji able to come up with the first down.
29:14Mayer again, first and 10 and hit by Adipo.
29:18And he's down to the 40 of the Giants on a gain of four.
29:22Well, Mayer, as we said, he's going to get more and more opportunities coming into this game.
29:25I think the most catches he had on the season was five.
29:28And right now, he's already been a big part of it with his fourth catch.
29:32Number 60 is reported as eligible.
29:34Number 60 is eligible.
29:37Charles Grant.
29:38Second down and about six coming up.
29:47Where they load up the line on that left side, don't they?
29:50Second down, six.
29:52Genji the call.
29:53Going inside.
29:54Mafia block.
29:55First down run.
29:56Down to the 31.
29:58Flag was thrown on the play.
30:01As Belton was getting off the bottom of the pile for the Giants.
30:06Illegal hands to the face.
30:07Defense number 95.
30:09The five-yard penalty we have at the end of the play.
30:12First down.
30:12So, Roy Robertson-Harris, and they're taking the place of Rakim Nunez-Roches, who's out today, is called.
30:21See right here.
30:24Hand up in the throat and face area.
30:27Anytime you see that head tilt back, that's what the officials are looking for,
30:30is the offensive linemen having their head snap back.
30:34Easy call.
30:37First down and ten.
30:39Smith is always under center here with the handoff, and it goes to Gentry.
30:45And nice play.
30:46Redwell, True Phillips got him.
30:49Shot through.
30:49Makes the stop.
30:51At the 27-yard line, they lose a yard.
30:53Not only is Geno Smith thrown the most interceptions, but he's also the most sacked quarterback in the NFL.
31:00So, he's getting a lot.
31:01Here's a good play defensively.
31:03He's been getting a lot, and some of that has to do with hanging on to the ball too long.
31:06Some of it is just the offensive line hasn't performed as well.
31:10But second down and 11, and here we go to Tyler Lockett, the veteran.
31:14And Phillips was here once again with Banks.
31:16And they put him at the 22 and a gain of four.
31:20So, it'll be third down.
31:23Well, and Lockett came into a system that he knows, a quarterback that he knows, a head coach that he knows.
31:28He was with Tennessee earlier in the season and asked for his release because he wanted some opportunities to play.
31:34And now being a part of this offense.
31:38Had some great numbers in Seattle all those years.
31:40Yes, he sure did.
31:41Yep, he sure did.
31:43Carroll brought his quarterback, Smith, and Lockett to Las Vegas.
31:47Third down and six for the Raiders.
31:50Foresight, the block here.
31:51They come.
31:53And at the top of the pile was Burns.
31:55Others were there.
31:56They bring him down, 24-yard line, and they lose two on the play.
32:00We just mentioned he's the most sacked individual quarterback in the NFL.
32:05Well, you did bring that up.
32:06And watch how the pocket collapses.
32:08But keep your eyes up field as well.
32:09There's nobody open.
32:10But there's coverage all over.
32:12And so as he's stepping up in the pocket, if you're going to try and push the ball down the field, you have to have time to do it.
32:18And right here, Geno doesn't have time.
32:19And he's lucky that he's able to hang on to the football as he goes down.
32:23Abdul Carter was in there, too.
32:25But it looks like they're going to get Burns the sack.
32:27We'll try to get the official ruling on that.
32:30Here is a field goal of 42 yards by Daniel Carson.
32:35And it is perfect.
32:36And the Raiders are on the board.
32:38And a pass to Gentry of 11 yards.
32:43And Pete Carroll has got three on there for his Raiders, trailing the Giants 7-3.
32:51Raiders just got on the board.
32:53Hollywood's biggest party is now bigger than ever, with more stars, more glamour, and more chaos.
32:59Nicky Glazer hosting the Golden Globes live CBS January 11th and streaming on Paramount+.
33:06So they get the 42-yard field goal in the previous possession.
33:11Geno Smith had thrown an interception 16th of the year over there, visiting with his interim offensive coordinator, Greg Olson.
33:19And the Giants ready to get this kickoff.
33:24And back there on the left, they got Banks.
33:27On the right, they got Osheski.
33:33And Banks will let it go beyond him, in and out of the end zone.
33:37So we've talked about the play of Dart and how it has been so different from the way he began this season, Trent, to where he's been the last three games.
33:46Well, and you have to understand, early in the season, you know, that was when Brian Dable was there.
33:51And now Mike Kafka taking over the play-calling duties.
33:54They struggle.
33:54Well, those numbers are a little skewed as far as the passing yards per game, because last week, 33 yards passing really brought down that per-game average.
34:02But you can see, because of the concussion he suffered earlier in the year, they're doing less quarterback-designed runs.
34:08Yes, he still takes off in runs, and he has a propensity to lower his shoulder and try and get after it.
34:13But they're trying to be more protective of him because of those big hits he has taken.
34:17Yeah, just four designed runs for the quarterback the last three games.
34:21His handoff here, and Tracy Mel is up to the 41.
34:25Yeah, and Dart told us this week he's played this way his whole life.
34:28It's always been a positive aspect of his game.
34:31So he said, I've only missed two games in the last four years.
34:33He feels the strength of his game is the ability to create with his legs.
34:36And he was very candid in our meeting, saying, I don't know how they want me to play.
34:39I'm not Joe Flacco.
34:40I'm not a pocket passer.
34:41He had run 35 designed runs to Trent's point in the first seven games.
34:46Tracy here in second down and four, hit by Koontz.
34:49And the other story with Dart, Trent, is that he's going to have a new coach next year as well.
34:54They have an interim coach, Mike Kafka, who easily could get it.
34:58But they're going to obviously throw a very wide net here because they've got what they think is their quarterback.
35:03Well, and that's why this next hire is going to be an important one for the development and the progress that, you know, that Jackson Dart makes.
35:11And you talk about him as a quarterback and you look around the league and guys that have improved in year number two.
35:16There he goes.
35:17This one designed run.
35:18And he's got the first down diving by midfield brought down by Alandon Roberts.
35:22He picks up six on third and one.
35:25It's a first down for the Giants.
35:26Well, and back more to what Melanie was talking about with Jackson Dart when he when he told us, he's like, listen, when I came out in the draft,
35:31this was one of the positives that I was able to use my feet and run and the athleticism that came with it.
35:37So now all of a sudden, you know, because of the concussion and because of some of the big hits he's taken, it's still going to be a part of his game.
35:45He's just got to understand to protect himself when he gets a chance.
35:47First and ten, they go underneath.
35:49It's Isaiah Hodgins who spins his way near the 40-yard line and brought down by J.J. Pegues with a gain of eight, second down and two.
35:58Here are the things the new head coach would inherit, some nice young building blocks for this team.
36:04Well, and Scadabo and Neighbors, both next season, hopefully coming back off of the injuries that they suffered.
36:10And you see Abdul Carter, who's had a sack in three straight games.
36:13Thibodeau is on IR because of injury, but a lot of young talent.
36:17And now Imbo starting that left tackle for the injured Thomas.
36:21So you've got some rookies and some young players getting experience.
36:24Second down and two.
36:25He backpedals his way into Roberts.
36:26Roberts has another first down for the Giants.
36:29But as you mentioned in your last answer, the concussions were the concern.
36:33He missed a couple games, and that was enough for them perhaps to put the brakes on all these design runs.
36:39Well, and when you start talking to, you know, you're talking to Mike Kafka, you know, about what's going on.
36:44And designing those runs, designing those plays, there's purpose behind not having as many quarterback design runs.
36:51Ballinger was back there with Dart, first and ten.
36:54There's the block on Butler and a wide-open receiver.
36:57The backpedaling Slayton has it with Stokes to stop him at about the 18 of the Raiders.
37:02Again, a 21 through the air and a first down for the Giants.
37:05Good accurate throw.
37:09Good time in the pocket for him to be able to get this out.
37:12Anytime you're pushing the ball up the field, you have to have time.
37:15You see the zone coverage.
37:17They're able to get it in between because it's a layered route.
37:19You have a deep corner route, a flat route, and then that out route right in the middle.
37:23And they're able to take advantage, Dart is, of the zone.
37:26That's Slayton's first catch of the afternoon.
37:28Outside the go here, Robinson getting a block on the wing from Slayton.
37:32And then run out of bounds on the play by Jamal Adams at a gain of six.
37:38So they're going a lot for Wendell Robinson.
37:41We told you top ten in receptions.
37:43He's one of the best slot receivers in terms of yards receiving, having a career year and going for 1,000.
37:50Came in today with 9-0-1.
37:52And right now he's got 41.
37:542nd down and 4.
37:59And at 5.80, he'd be amongst the shortest ever to get 1,000 yards.
38:03Not the shortest.
38:04There's a design run.
38:06Here goes the quarterback for 6.
38:09Dart takes it in on a touchdown run of 12.
38:14And the Giants have gone on top 13-3.
38:18Well, and as he's running, there was no doubt in my mind,
38:22and I don't think anybody else in the stadium, that he was not going to slide.
38:26Designed run here.
38:26You get the guys up the field blocking, and then he just takes off.
38:29And as he sees that goal line approaching, lowers the shoulder.
38:34Does take a big hit.
38:35The helmet nearly comes off.
38:37His 8th rushing touchdown.
38:42That's number 3 among quarterbacks in the NFL.
38:47And Sauls will try another extra point.
38:52And he swings it through.
38:5414-3, the Giants.
38:56Darts 7th touchdown on a designed run.
39:00Double the next quarterback in the NFL.
39:03Takes it to the house.
39:07Two New York Giants touchdown runs moments ago by Dart.
39:10And time now for the Verizon sideline report with Mel.
39:14Well, Kev, I caught up with Cam Scadaboo on the field pregame,
39:18who told me, I can't stand watching football.
39:20It's killing him not to be out there competing with his team right now.
39:23He said he's never missed more than two games in his career.
39:26So he's been trying to stay busy doing other things like streaming and attending events.
39:31But football is his whole life.
39:32He said as far as his rehab, he's doing great.
39:34He's about a week out from being able to start jogging again, which is remarkable.
39:38And he said they've been careful not to place any kind of timeline on his return.
39:42But at the moment, he's about nine weeks removed from that injury.
39:45And he's ahead of schedule, guys.
39:47He is.
39:47Had the surgery in Philadelphia.
39:49And we just saw Dart do his best scadaboo impression, right?
39:53I mean, just took it right into the teeth of that defense.
39:56He got six.
39:57Yes, he was.
39:58There was no thought of sliding.
