00:00This is a film about the power of love and relationships, family, music, and the importance of building community to believe in each other to support each other.
00:16Wow.
00:17Pretty good.
00:18Pretty good.
00:19Do you have some memories, something particular you would like to share about your duo on set?
00:34With you?
00:35Yes.
00:36We had such an amazing time working together and it really was one of those experiences for us where we knew that the story really relied on the love story and if the love story didn't work the movie just wouldn't work.
00:48And that was really important to me to try to get to know Hugh intimately, which cannot be challenging, you know, when you're playing people who fall in love and you want that to be like the essence of the movie.
01:01It's a weird thing to do.
01:03And so we really talked about it a lot and we hung out and we opened ourselves up to each other and was very vulnerable with each other.
01:12Then it became really easy.
01:14And then there's the other side of it, which is I think like, I think you just don't know, you know, like you could really love somebody and then not have necessarily great chemistry with them on screen.
01:25But we were both so committed to the love story that I think it worked.
01:29Because you know what, making movies is not fun when you don't like your co-star.
01:32I think the ones that move me in a performance are always inspiring.
01:36You don't always hit, hit the right note every film that you do, you know, and as actors you want to put yourself out there and try different things and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
01:46But you know, when you see a great performance as an actress, you know, if I'm watching appear and they're in something and it's moving, it just, it's inspiring.
01:56I've always been a fan of effortless acting.
02:01I get inspired by people where you don't see their moves and their choices, you know, that they feel completely embodied.
02:09Because that's a really hard thing to do is to make something feel effortless.
02:13That's the whole goal.
02:14For me, like, obviously Meryl Streep feels effortless.
02:19I like people like Sandra Bullock.
02:22I think she's just an effortless movie star.
02:25There's Lawrence, Jen Lawrence.
02:28Huge, huge.
02:31Jeff Bridges, one of the most effortless.
02:34My dad, Kurt, is one of my favorite actors of all time.
02:38So there's a lot of people that inspire me.
02:40I liked this interview, it was fun.
02:43Thank you.
02:44Thank you.
