00:00Russia and China have criticized the United States at the United Nations,
00:05accusing Washington of applying military and economic pressure on Venezuela

00:12Both countries described these actions as aggressive and intimidating.
00:18Venezuela echoed those concerns, accusing Washington of engaging in what it called
00:23unprecedented political and economic coercion.
00:25The emergency meeting was requested by Venezuela with the backing of Russia and China.
00:31The U.S. has recently deployed significant naval forces in the Caribbean
00:35and intercepted oil tankers as part of its sanctions enforcement against Venezuela.
00:40Russia's ambassador to the United Nations said
00:42Washington bore responsibility for the severe and ongoing consequences
00:46of what he described as a confrontational foreign policy.
00:50China's representative also criticized the U.S. approach,
00:53saying that Beijing opposed unilateral actions and bullying,
00:57while supporting the right of nations to defend their sovereignty and dignity.
01:01In response, the U.S. ambassador told the Security Council
01:04that Washington would act decisively to protect regional security,
01:08safeguard its borders, and defend the American population.
