Blue Origin's New Shepard launch featured a new 'free flying' camera that was deployed to capture capsule separation. See the amazing view and the launch through landing.

01:51Oh, we have the max aerodynamic stress on the vehicle,
01:55and so we're actually going to power down the engine as we go through that bucket.

02:17Chamber pressure is nominal.
02:23We're about a minute and a half, just passing 60,000 feet.
02:26I love shots like this where you can just see the glow of the engine.

02:53And we've also got a camera there on the booster looking back down on West Texas.

03:30And as I mentioned, if you look to the left-hand side of your screen,
03:37you'll notice that the telemetry has split,
03:40so you'll be able to follow the capsule and the booster separately.
03:44They reach apogee at right about the same time.
03:46You'll also notice on your screen, we've reached zero G.
03:59I know there are so many students and teachers watching today.

04:19and the results of those experiments.

04:32I always think it's so cool to have that split screen where you can see Texas from the booster,
04:50and we've got that long-range camera that I know it's kind of hard to see,
04:54but we do have the booster and the capsule there.
04:56Capsule apogee at 345,000 feet.
05:02Yeah, soon on the image on the right, we'll be able to see.
05:06Oh, you can kind of see it.

05:07You can see two little dots.
05:09That is the capsule and the booster.
05:11They've reached apogee.
05:15They've crossed the Karman line, and now they are making their way back down to West Texas.
05:20And since we do have so many students watching today, Claire, do you want to kind of explain why-

05:25The booster will land first?
05:27Yeah.
05:27So the booster is going to land about two miles north of the launch pad, and it is more aerodynamic,
05:36so it is going to go through the air a lot faster than the capsule.
05:40Therefore, it's going to land before the crew capsule lands.
05:43That's right.
05:43The crew capsule, as you notice, is more of a teardrop shape.
05:46Booster descent nominal through 300,000 feet.
05:52And we are watching the booster and the capsule from our long-range cameras out in West Texas.
05:58Capsule body rates look good.

06:33An autonomous landing is what you'll see.

06:49So those forward fins are some of our aerodynamic surfaces that help us fly and return back to the landing pad.
