05:27So I think to that extent, whatever has been mentioned in our interview,
05:31or otherwise, whatever is our position as the Indian government is that,
05:36they want that Bangladesh is stabilizer.
05:40India stands for the people of Bangladesh for them.
05:43At the same time, they should ensure that the minorities are protected.
05:48On the statements about the northeastern states and Archikan Nekar,
05:52she said that such statements are dangerous and irresponsible,
05:56reflecting the extremist elements that have gained influence in the UN's governments.

08:25Looking at the prevailing circumstances,
08:27Bangladesh, sir, how do you see the elections happening, sir,
08:31and the referendum happening, sir?
08:33Well, sincerely, we hope that Bangladesh has a full democratic process,
08:39goes through in a transparent manner,
08:42and there is a proper transition of power.
08:45There are many slips between the cup and the lip,
08:49but as the largest democracy in the world
08:51and the close neighbor of Bangladesh,
08:54I think this is the expectation of every Indian and Indian government
08:57to see that the elections happen and transition takes place
09:01so that the normal relations can continue.

09:27What are your takeaways, if I may ask you?
09:29I think it was an excellent interview that she gave,
09:32very detailed, and some tough questions were asked by ANI,
09:36but she gave very good replies,
09:38and very well thought out,
09:39which obviously shows that she is very concerned about what is happening in Bangladesh.
09:44And actually, I fully agree with what Sheikh Hasina has said in all the answers.
09:48I mean, for example, it is very true that the regime,
09:52interim regime led by Mohammed Yunus is not an elected government.
09:55It is just somebody that has been imposed.
09:56I mean, there was a regime change operation last July, August,
10:01and Sheikh Hasina was forced to leave the country
10:03because of this large-scale demonstration.
10:06And this new regime has been imposed from nowhere out of the blue.
10:08Mohammed Yunus is brought there.
10:09And now he is trying to perpetuate his position.
10:12I mean, the rumor is that he wants to be the president,
10:15and that's why he wants to have an election,
10:17which will bring a government,
10:18which will allow him to become president, and so on.
10:20So I think that that is a very valid point,
10:23that unless the elections are inclusive,
10:27unless they are fully participatory,
10:29Avami League, Jatya Party,
10:30all these must be allowed to take part in the elections,
10:33then you can say that whoever comes, any party may come,
10:37but that will be something that the people of Bangladesh will accept.
10:40What Sheikh Hasina is clearly saying is that
10:42the people of Bangladesh will not accept an election which is not participatory.
10:47They will not accept an election which is going to take place
10:51without the participation of the Avami League,
10:54because that is not what the people of Bangladesh want.
10:56In fact, in July, August,
10:58when the regime change operation took place,
11:01one of the big reasons given by the people,
11:03Mohammed Yunus and their so-called student leaders,
11:06actually they are all people from Islami Chhatra Shibir,
11:09they were saying,
11:10oh, you know, we have not been able to vote,
11:13that Sheikh Hasina never held free fare and participatory.
11:15Now they are doing exactly the same thing themselves,
11:17what they were accusing her of.
11:19So the people have seen through it.
11:21In fact, if you look at even the popularity,
11:24the opinion polls that are coming out of Bangladesh,
11:27it is very clear that even at that time,
11:31at the regime change operation,
11:33maybe there was a strong anti-incumbency against Sheikh Hasina.
11:36But now that is completely vanished,
11:38because people have realized that the unus interim regime,
11:42which has no legitimacy at all,
11:44is trying to install itself by undemocratic means.
11:47And of course, the economy has gone down,
11:49so people are very unhappy with that.
11:51So I think that all the answers she gave,
11:53even the lawlessness,
11:54she spoke about the killing of Usman Hadi,
11:58it's complete lawlessness,
12:00complete lack of control.
12:01And it is really being shown that how foolishly,
12:07the interim regime of Mohammed Yunus tried to blame India for it.
12:10And then they called our High Commissioner,
12:13and they arranged demonstrations against the,
12:15not only the High Commission in Dhaka,
12:17but also against the Assistant High Commission in Khulna,
12:19in Rajshai,
12:20and then in Chittagong overnight.
12:21And now,
12:22they themselves are staying.
12:24They themselves have made a statement,
12:26saying that,

12:32as being the killer
12:33was actually seen in the last many days
12:36in the same political rally as Usman Hadi.
