Amsterdam saw contrasting scenes as thousands gathered in the city centre to celebrate the end of Hanukkah, while a separate candlelight vigil mourned civilians killed in global conflicts, including Gaza. The Hanukkah event featured menorah lighting, music, dancing and Israeli flags, with politicians in attendance.

At the same time, pro-Palestine supporters held a vigil at a local church, lighting candles and calling for solidarity with victims of war worldwide. Speakers at both events stressed the importance of peace, compassion and distinguishing religious celebrations from political actions amid ongoing international tensions.

00:00...and fear. Weak global life of love, light and positivity.
00:05This is the instantie of a flight for him.
00:07But he finally makes the bed a lie.
00:10We will stay Jewish. We will stay Jewish. We will stay Jewish.
00:39We will live as proud Jews. We will live with joy, with silica.
00:50Here's something deeply painful and powerful.
01:00I think we make separate between Hamas organization, terrorist organization and Palestine.
01:08It must be much better that they come also here and celebrate together.
01:13Because we need worldwide peace. And separately it doesn't work.
01:19This is the world by the world.
01:27Because everyone looks at the stars, the planet and the moon.
01:57This is full meaning because in Iran we have also, this is a very famous celebration and it's named Chelle or Yalda and it's exactly the same day today.
02:13And I come here to show our solidarity, solidarity of Iranian people to the Israeli people.
02:27At the moment, in my opinion, Mr. President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu can create worldwide peace.
02:50But if they supported Iranian people to bring monarchy back again because the Iranian people from at least 10 years ago calls Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi to bring monarchy back again.
03:10And I believe in that if the monarchy doesn't come back again in Iran, the problems in Middle East will not be solved. Absolutely not.
03:20Absolutely not.
03:21The goal is made for whom they are the ones.
03:24Under the slachtoffers was a woman.
03:26More Jewish, act more Jewish and appear more Jewish.
03:32We organized this vigil today in Dominicus Church in Amsterdam for the people who suffer from the violence of war in Germany.
03:52Genocides in Palestine in Palestine, in Congo, in Sudan, in Myanmar, in Azerbaijan and in many other places.
04:09And we think it's really important to be in solidarity with these people and to carry our grief together.
04:17And we know that at the same time there's also an event going on on the Dam Square.
04:33That is, I think it's also the end of the Jewish celebration of Hanukkah that ends today, which is, I think, really important.
04:44At the same time, it's also an event where many Israeli flags can be seen.
04:49And I think looking at that from this, from the spirit of this event, we find it hard because the State of Israel is currently carrying out genocide against Gaza.
05:01So I think we have to be very mindful to make a distinction between the Jewish feast of Hanukkah and, at the other side, what the State of Israel is doing.
05:11I think that while I am not doing it all right, I thank you so much for being afraid.
05:16Yes, I think it is really important to me to that again and thank you.
05:17Get out of the time there!
05:19Why is he doing it?
05:21You know, getting every country.
05:23Azerj Footage of fue concepts.
05:26What have you got there?
05:28You think the peninsula is marshall of us.
05:29And because of course it seems that it seems from last time, but no time we always have built up on our weddingø —
05:32every person of the family known paulness,
05:34because of the people who they have happened,
05:36the people have a goodiąampione—
