00:11In a Facebook post on Sunday, Anwar, who is also the finance minister, said the savings
00:16came from better targeting of fuel subsidies for Malaysians, effectively curbing leakages
00:21that had previously benefited more than 3.5 million foreigners and fuel smugglers.
00:27He said every ringgit saved is being channeled back to the people through initiatives such
00:32as the Rahma Cash Contribution , and the Rahma Basic Contribution , as well
00:38as upgrades to clinics and hospitals, road improvements, and strengthened infrastructure.
00:44Anwar said targeted fuel subsidies had been debated for more than 20 years by successive
00:49governments, but none had the political will to implement them until the Madani government
00:54introduced Budi 95.
00:57Under the program, all Malaysian MICAD holders aged 16 and above with a valid driving license
01:03are eligible to purchase up to 300 litres of subsidized Ron 95 fuel per month at RM1.99
