00:00E então, se você pensar sobre os grandes mediadores
00:03durante o histórico,
00:04isso é realmente Cutter's momento.
00:13Justiça e action beyond promises to progress
00:16não é só um tema,
00:17é um desafio.
00:18Da última cerimônia do Doha Forum,
00:21há uma palpável drive
00:22para transformar grandes ideias
00:24into real-world results.
00:26Leads de todo mundo
00:27gathered in Doha
00:28to take on
00:29the most pressing global challenges
00:30from conflict resolution
00:32and economic inequality
00:33to humanitarian crises
00:35and a rapidly shifting geopolitical landscape.
00:38What gave me hope
00:39is to see all those policy makers
00:42in one room,
00:45in Doha Forum,
00:46discussing these kinds of pressing issues.
00:49And this is what we are trying to promote
00:52and to encourage everyone to do,
00:55is to meet,
00:56to have dialogue
00:57and to go out of this Doha Forum
01:01with very good results
01:03and continue their partnership in the future.
01:07Well, this is my first forum here in Doha
01:10and I'm positively impressed
01:12by, first of all,
01:14the size of the event
01:16is one of the biggest
01:17I have ever been to,
01:20but also the quality
01:21of participants.
01:24I think it's important
01:26in these global events
01:27that you have different angles coming in
01:31and clearly Doha is a hub
01:34for bringing together different viewpoints
01:38and I'm very happy to contribute
01:39to the European viewpoint
01:41of the whole business.
01:42Many senior diplomats
01:43and international officials
01:45praise Qatar's growing reputation
01:46as an impartial mediator
01:48grounded in international law,
01:50focused on protecting civilians
01:52and paving the way
01:53for negotiated solutions.
01:55We see Qatar's growing role
01:57in the Middle East as well.
02:00I mean,
02:00all the international mediation
02:03that they're doing
02:04when it comes to Sudan,
02:06but also Gaza,
02:08also Ukrainian children,
02:10for example,
02:10or the Great Lakes.
02:11So we see that we have
02:15a lot of things
02:16where we can work together.
02:17Of course,
02:18not only on peace
02:19and security matters,
02:21but also other matters
02:22like trade,
02:24economic relations,
02:25innovation,
02:26technology that we can build up.
02:28During the forum,
02:29the Qatar Fund for Development
02:31announced 18 new strategic agreements
02:33worth nearly half a billion euros
02:35to support development programs
02:37that will benefit
02:37more than 4.7 million people worldwide.
02:41The big gap is
02:4288% of Africa
02:43don't have electricity.
02:45This is not acceptable.
02:46You know,
02:46we cannot create a good economy.
02:49We cannot create,
02:49you know,
02:50for agriculture,
02:51how to supply waters
02:52without electricity.
02:54We cannot have good education,
02:55good health.
02:56You know,
02:56there are major things
02:57that we need to tackle,
02:58you know,
02:58on the big-scale infrastructures
03:00that we can support it.
03:02And additional to that,
03:04you know,
03:04how can we work
03:05on the soft component,
03:06education,
03:07health,
03:07economic empowerment.
03:09This is our focus now.
03:10The future is looking for
03:12how we can support
03:13these major things
03:14on the electricity
03:15and energy,
03:16you know,
03:16because this needs
03:17a lot of support,
03:18you know,
03:19from our partners.
03:20For the first time,
03:21the forum also hosted
03:23a live on-stage podcast
03:24produced by Doha Debates,
03:26a global platform
03:27focused on constructive dialogue
03:29using mudslash-style conversations
03:31to find common ground.
03:33So when people think of debate,
03:35they actually now think
03:36of the talking heads on TV
03:38who yell at each other
03:39and who try to score points
03:40against each other.
03:41It's like a boxing match.
03:42It's a gladiator fight.
03:44Doha Debates is entirely against this.
03:46We're based on the majlis style
03:47of debate.
03:49The idea is to seek truth.
03:51So you and I may disagree.
03:52We may have very,
03:53very,
03:53very existential disagreements.
03:56How are we going to address those?
03:57We're going to address them
03:58by respecting each other
03:59as human beings
04:00and having a meaningful,
04:03deep-seated conversation
04:04that explores the topic
04:06from multiple issues.
04:09Much of this year's discussion
04:11centered on the Gaza conflict
04:13and Qatar's mediation efforts,
04:15with several speakers
04:16calling for deeper recognition
04:17of Doha's role
04:18and greater engagement
04:20from European institutions.
04:22With all the conflicts
04:24that we had,
04:24with all the events
04:25that we had during the year,
04:28this Doha Forum
04:30basically just bring us
04:34the solutions,
04:35bring us the conclusions.
04:37And yeah,
04:38I do believe that
04:39the partnerships
04:40that we signed this year
04:42with the European Union
04:43could be a successful one.
04:46From mediation tables
04:48to development pledges,
04:50the message here is clear.
04:52Progress only happens
04:53when conversations
04:54turn into commitments.
