Russia has issued a stern warning to the United States, urging President Trump’s administration not to make a “fatal mistake” over Venezuela, following Trump’s order of a blockade on all sanctioned oil tankers entering or leaving the country. The U.S. move, aimed at pressuring President Nicolás Maduro’s government, comes after the seizure of a sanctioned tanker last week, leaving several oil vessels idling in Venezuelan waters. Russia described Venezuela as a close partner and expressed concern over unilateral U.S. decisions that could threaten international shipping.
