00:00English football in 2025 delivered a season that blended long-awaited breakthroughs with
00:06the relentless dominance of modern greats, shaping a year that will be remembered way
00:11beyond the final whistle. From historic cup triumph to record-breaking excellence at the
00:17summit of the Premier League, the domestic game felt both refreshed and firmly rooted in elite
00:22quality. At the top of the league, Liverpool's Premier League title was underpinned by Mohamed
00:28Salah's relentless brilliance. Already a club icon, Salah elevated his status further by breaking new
00:34scoring and appearance records, defying Liverpool's campaign with consistency, leadership and decisive
00:40moments where margins were tight. And these are also the players that just keep on performing year
00:46after year after year, even if they don't win it. And a few of them now won the league for the first
00:50time and they have to show that they have the same mentality as the ones that have won it here before.
00:54And I'm looking forward to be part of that. And yeah, we know it's going to be tough again. It was
01:04already very tough this season. It's going to be probably just as tough or even tougher next season
01:07because the club that we've competed with this season have always in every window always invested
01:15a lot of money and they're probably going to do so this summer as well. And yeah, we did things
01:21differently last season. I don't think it has been said a lot, but maybe I'm completely wrong because
01:25the one that told me maybe lied to me. But he said to me that since Alex Ferguson won the league
01:30the last time he won the league, not a team has had so many academy minutes as we, our academy
01:37players, had this season.
01:39Newcastle United provided one of the season's most emotional moments by ending their long wait
01:44for silverware with the Carabao Cup triumph. The victory was more than a trophy. It symbolised
01:50the club's evolution into a genuine force once again, rewarding a fan base starved of success
01:56and validating a project built on patience, recruitment and belief.
02:01In alcohol, I think by Joe Linton and the rest of the squad, but a great moment. And that's,
02:06that's what it's all about. It's about embracing the success. You have so many difficult days in football
02:11and this club's had its fair share over the years. So I'm just trying to enjoy the moment
02:17and take it all in. So pleased for the players. They've all had different journeys to get to
02:21this point, but we've come together as a squad. I love working with them every day. Honoured
02:26to be their, their leader. Yeah. And for the supporters, you know, who came in there thousands
02:34today who supported us back home. Since I've been at the football club, the support we've
02:38had home and away has been incredible. So I'm just so pleased they have this trophy to
02:44end the long wait and hopefully we can get some more in the future.
02:49Crystal Palace added to the sense of renewal by lifting the FA Cup, writing one of the
02:54competition's great modern stories. Their journey blended tactical discipline with moments of daring
03:00culminating in a Wembley win that ensured Palace's name will be forever etched into English football
03:06folklore. The biggest achievement we as football players, football managers, the biggest achievement
03:14that we can have, the biggest success is not then lifting the trophy. The biggest success
03:19what we can have, and this is how I feel it is, we could give 10,000 of our fans of South
03:26Londoner. We could give them a moment for their life. We can give them great times. We can give
03:34them, maybe they have, you know, some troubles, some problems at home. We give them hours and
03:39days where they forget all of this. Yeah. Just be feeling happy and celebrating. I think this
03:44is the biggest achievement that sportsmen can do.
03:48Yet even over the season of collective triumphs, individual accidents continue to soar. Erling
03:54Haaland once again rewrote the Premier League's attacking benchmarks this year, producing numbers
03:59that challenge the limits of what is considered possible throughout English football.
04:06What can I say? So the numbers speak for itself. So how lucky and fortunate we have to have
04:11him and just congratulate him because it's alongside in terms of goals, goals and Van
04:17Isselrooy, but especially Lewandowski, but especially with the two monsters that have been Cristiano
04:22and Messi during 50, 20 years. Erling is there. So in terms of goals, it's unbelievable.
04:30Together, these stories captured the essence of 2025, a year where history was honoured, barriers
04:35were broken and English football proved once again why it remains unmatched for drama, depth
04:41and enduring power.
