00:09:21with john cena i have goosebumps as we get set for an historic and emotional night goosebumps for the

00:09:28entire arena and i'm sure everyone sat watching at home with one person in this building who cannot

00:09:34afford to be emotional though ironically enough that's john cena himself who has a massive task

00:09:40against the merciless gunther you want to talk about emotional cody rhodes has gotten very emotional

00:09:46over the past couple of months because of this issue with drew mcintyre it's forced him to make

00:09:51irrational sometimes rash decisions like taking on the man he faces tonight yeah that's an interesting

00:09:58choice of words let's go back to roman reigns who held the wwe title for four years he did that by

00:10:06not making rash decisions not making mistakes by being cold and clinical and it could cost cody that he's not

00:10:14following in those five steps

00:10:27and his opponent from lagos nigeria weighing in at 310 pounds he is the nxt champion oba fami

00:10:50who won his secondary championship last saturday night when he beat ricky saints at nxt deadline

00:11:08this is a man wade who joined wwe only three years ago as part of our next in line program

00:12:28fact that oba fami was going to be in the ring in the final night of john cena's career so wait tell me

00:12:34about old oba fami what does he bring to the game and what does cody rhodes have to look out for

00:12:48right off the back you hear this hot atmosphere they're trying to back cody rhodes we've seen one

00:12:52tie-up already and immediately to answer your question michael cole it's the overwhelming

00:12:57intolerable power of oba fami that showed right off the bat and that's what has this audience worried

00:13:04on cody's behalf oh cody rhodes has proven that he can take the best of the power again

00:13:10remember his great rivalry with brock lesnar of course the rivalry with john cena as well

00:13:14in roman reigns and a side headlock now applied by cody rhodes

00:13:19oh but fami just looking to overpower the undisputed wwe champion there's the quickness of roads

00:13:27right to the midsection oh and look at fami closing that bare paw like hand around the throat of cody

00:13:34cody is up cody is down the irish curse backbreaker that femi is powdered up for the great sheamus

00:13:41well the only going to this one it is not even close it's a 10-7 round to oba fami who is now mowing

00:13:48down the wwe champ body shots followed by an elbow to the back of the neck and this is that

00:13:54methodical pace that over fami loves to put into play as we take another look at the power of femi

00:14:00yeah it's a staggering amount of power that is simply not something that is matched often in this

00:14:06industry that's the key to why oba fami has devoured everything in his path thus far and wait remember

00:14:12femi warned cody rhodes when the bell rings you won't be looking at potential you're going to be

00:14:18looking at inevitability the future is now for obi over femi well oversees it as completely poetic that

00:14:25is one top guy of this industry taps out in john cena another man is here to pick up the slack

00:14:32and that man is currently dominating the best in wwe qb1 cody rhodes and femi now with a massive

00:14:40deals that mean the wwe champion across the ring and rhodes is stunned here by the early power and

00:14:47onslaught of femi a lot of people talk about this being a massive test for oba femi we could be wrong

00:14:53this could be the start of a generational takeover at the top of the industry it's exactly the kind of

00:14:59look at that cody went for his power slam and it was blocked by femi well femi's clearly done his

00:15:06homework because nothing cody usually relies on is working and cody's got to kick out what would a win

00:15:12wade mean for oba femi tonight it completely wipes out any perception that this guy still needs to learn

00:15:19if he beats the absolute best we've got in cody rhodes the kingdom is all yours oba femi cody wants to

00:15:26be qb1 he wants to take on all comers fight all battles but again it needs to focus against femi

00:15:32tonight who just delivers a white and drops cody to his knees shot on the ribs of oba femi's registering

00:15:40it somewhat but it's less of a grimace compared to the face of cody rhodes etched in pain

00:15:45now look at this femi with one arm and again knee right to the spine of rhodes cover now

00:15:56by oba femi hook of the leg and a kick out by cody it's incredible oba femi's barely even breathing

00:16:03heavily it's just been a walk in the park thus far for oba femi the threat with young superstars stepping up

00:16:11to this level is always that they're going to be consumed by the moment by that giant spotlight

00:16:16oba femi has just walked into this arena with the world's spotlight on him and owned it well and wade

00:16:22that's one of the things about femi he never seems out of his element you date back to when he was the

00:16:27breakout tournament winner in nxt or the iron survivor winner the nxt north american champion no moment was

00:16:33ever too big for this man cody lands on his feet needs to try to rally here the champs in trump oh and

00:16:40that'll help sidesteps femi shoulder first to the post well femi knows when he mows down an opponent like

00:16:46he has done cody rhodes thus far usually it's plain sailing but cody can dig deeper the most that's why

00:16:52he's the champ up and over the 300 there's the power slam by cody rhodes who now looks to build some

00:16:58momentum in this matchup cody measuring femi off the second rope cody cutter cover

00:17:15femi kicks out at two this is that durability of cody roads coming to the four just a perfectly

00:17:22executed cody cutter and hats off to oba femi who was equal to it but this one has spawned on a

00:17:28done yeah cody rhodes there's so many traits that he shares of course with john cena won that

00:17:33resilience that he's showing here tonight went for the cutter again caught by obafemi and now femian

00:17:38well sent through the second rope into the floor this is an element of learning from obafemi which

00:17:43partly explains oh what a right hand a straight right by femi dropped roads in his tracks it was more of an

00:17:50elbow smash to the jaw of cody rhodes but the effects are exactly the same cody rhodes with all that

00:17:57momentum just wiped out perfect timing from obafemi who may well have been playing a little possum

00:18:03there against the veteran and cody rhodes though the veteran ducks underneath grabs the rope femi now

00:18:12out to the other side of the floor cody suicide dies takes femi down and now cody rhodes is starting

00:18:17to feel it absolute bullseye right there taking the big man down and questions now about the durability

00:18:25of obafemi as he's been peppered with shots wait a second what speed are you talking about oh what a

00:18:31spine buster cover and a kick out by rhodes i'll tell you right now cole that the spine buster as

00:18:38impressive as it was we know about it it was the speed of obafemi following cody into the ring there

00:18:45that really got himself into the opportunity to nail the spine buster that's the deceptive part

00:18:51about this huge human being the explosive movement he gave cody no space

00:18:57and there's no way cody came into this match against the man as big and powerful as obafemi

00:19:02expecting to be out maneuvered out muscled yes out maneuvered hell no well especially against a man

00:19:08who's been in this business three years there's the drop down by cody big right hand by rhodes

00:19:14and now femi gonna drive cody up over the top rope and cody right in front of our announce desk cody's

00:19:19hurting here this is not good i just looked in the eyes of cody they're kind of glassy already well

00:19:24he's favoring his ribs wade and obafemi the ruler at 6'6 310 pounds launches cody rhodes with an uppercut

00:19:33and bolt met over the table just a sprinting european connecting to the jaw of cody rhodes cody's been

00:19:42busted open cody's ear busted open off that uppercut by femi it's a steel tables a lot of sharp edges and

00:19:50cody's caught something incredibly badly

00:19:55and now obafemi smells blood and tastes blood and the end may be nine and look at this femi oh way

00:20:11what a match to kick off saturday night's main event obafemi the future of this industry one of the

00:20:18reasons that john cena wanted these young stars to be featured on this card tonight and you saw

00:20:23again the concern as it comes to rhodes a busted eardrum you know for a fact cody rhodes is never

00:20:29going to give up in a match like this but he must be regretting accepting it in the first place

00:20:36i don't think cody regrets anything i think he understands his actions but i get your point

00:21:12what the hell is he doing here i thought this was an unsafe working environment

00:21:20time and again drew mcintyre has insisted he's been screwed over by cody rhodes and

00:21:25mcintyre not only ruined the match for rhodes he ruined it for femi as well and now a cody

00:21:54cutter to mcintyre

00:22:03and the ruler with a choke slam

00:22:12that damn mcintyre the hypocrite ruined this great match as his obsession with cody rhodes continues

00:22:24of all the knights for mcintyre to pull that stunt

00:22:32mcintyre got exactly what he came for let's face it we're in cody's night we're in oba's night let

00:22:39the stain on john cena's night

00:22:41cody rhodes is the present over femi is the future but wait i don't believe

00:23:00femi coming into the present will be too far away what a way to enter the top level of this

00:23:10industry over femi may dominate here for the next 15 plus years that was incredible but i don't think

00:23:18for a second the issues between cody rhodes and drew mcintyre are going to end tonight

00:23:28cody rhodes the man who is qb1 the man who hopes to replace john cena and already has is the face of

00:23:36wwe how impressed are you with over fennie that was absolutely fantastic we know about the physical

00:23:42gifts of the man what we didn't know is the fact that he can step into the biggest spotlight against

00:23:47the best in the industry and simply overwhelm the wwe champ obafemi has a bright future here

00:30:28record in our nation's capital but bailey's been struggling i guess internally as of late had some

00:30:35good days and bad days yeah absolutely bailey's personality at times has been a little erratic

00:30:40and temperamental of late but i spoke to her earlier she seems to be in a good mood on an even keel

00:30:46and looking to bomb one hell of a show tonight

00:30:58bailey has been very vocal on social media the past couple of weeks of how important it is for her to be a

00:31:02part of this night tonight she grew up as a fan met john cena at an autograph signing many years ago

00:31:08and ended up being a peer of cena and now one of those leaders who have followed him seen his

00:31:13footsteps to try to train the superstars of tomorrow including this superstar

00:31:21and her opponent being accompanied by zorya from honolulu hawaii

00:31:37you know you can catch all the nxt superstars every tuesday night on the cw including soul ruka had a great

00:31:44talk to the 26 year old earlier today she was telling me that she didn't know if she wanted to do this she's

00:31:51only been here three years at the university of oregon she was involved in a sport that is known as

00:31:56acrobatics and tumbling she wanted to be a stunt double that was the next best thing and she told me

00:32:02that sport allowed her to prepare herself for the rain yeah absolutely it sounds a little counterintuitive

00:32:08but doing a different sport like the acrobatics and tumbling it helped her to learn how to catch

00:32:14flying human beings control their body weight maybe even catching errant knee to the nose occasionally

00:32:20essentially that is wrestling training before she ever got anywhere near nxt which will explain why

00:32:28she's been on the fast track in the brief three years that she's been training for professional

00:32:33wrestling had a couple of pins in the iron survivor challenge last saturday night at nxt deadline i asked soul

00:32:39about tonight she said i understand the gravity of the moment i've got nerves of course who wouldn't

00:32:45but i was hand-picked to be here one of the four hand-picked to be here tonight i'm going to show the

00:32:50world that i belong it's a very different mentality for that of obafemi from nxt who we saw a little

00:32:55earlier who says he deserves this now he belongs here whereas soul ruka obviously incredibly grateful

00:33:01for the opportunity i'll tell you this oh nice take now win or lose tonight win soul ruka arrives on the

00:33:08map for good lose and it's an opportunity to figure out your weak spots and grow for from them so you

00:33:14really can't lose if you're soul ruka so basically what you're saying is bailey has everything to lose

00:33:19tonight absolutely i mean it's always a high risk you're competing against someone you are expected

00:33:24to win and soul ruka right in the early goings here having a few shots of her sleeve with that elite level

00:33:30athleticism of hers waist lock turned into a headlock nice transition by bailey and now goes to work on the

00:33:36left arm of ruka the former nxt women's north american champion longest title hold ever in nearly 200

00:33:43days bailey ducks under and it's soul ruka showing off a little bit and look at that ruka takes down

00:33:50bailey with the unique rana and bailey in the corner caught off guard a bit unreal agility and aerial

00:33:57ability of soul ruka she has the athletic wow factor to do the kind of things that we perhaps at times

00:34:04haven't seen before in this industry i asked her what her strength is right she said i'm a high

00:34:10flyer however i'm extremely tall as well a tall high flyer you don't usually think of it that way but

00:34:16she says it helps her in these types of match-ups yeah usually a lower central gravity will help you

00:34:20look at the next factor it's incredibly smooth there from soul ruka and something we've overlooked is the

00:34:27corner women on the outside for bailey of course lyra valkyria yeah strange relationship there right

00:34:33yeah absolutely a strange relationship with soul rook and her corner woman here some tackle tag partner

00:34:39zarya on the outside and those two have been kind of beefing on and off a little lately so keep an eye on that

00:34:44at ringside yeah they made up uh this past week though and bailey got caught got hung up on the

00:34:49apron and soul ruka wisely took advantage movement of soul ruka but bailey hasn't got an answer for it

00:34:56oh and again that athleticism of ruka on display as she delivers a kick to bailey in a step ahead of

00:35:03bailey from the early goings here oh nobody home bailey stepped out of harm's way and runs into a right hand

00:35:09doesn't look back nothing athletic about that from bailey just good old-fashioned smash mouth that is

00:35:15how you take down someone with the kind of agility of a soul rookie you make this game a little more

00:35:20even once soul ruka is grounded veteran smart to bailey yeah that's what bailey has to do tonight

00:35:27you know whether that early storm of over exuberance perhaps and now bailey trying to lift soul rook up on

00:35:33her shoulders and soul able to roll through into a pin accommodation that was a nice move there by soul

00:35:38well issue with a soul ruka coming up from nxt for bailey she hasn't got the amount of tape

00:35:45that soul ruka has on bailey to kind of figure out the tricks and games your opponent's gonna play

00:35:52and ruka with a kick right to the face of bailey but you're right it really is all about riding out

00:35:57that early storm of a young and excited athlete bailey tried to do that but with the second wind

00:36:03here is soul ruka who looks absolutely golden in that ring already and the fans behind her here

00:36:09tonight in washington dc saw come over the top wow that's highlight real stuff sure bailey trying to
