00:00Quand vous intégriez les jeunes à être part de ces événements, à attendre ces événements ou ces sessions,
00:07ça met les gens dans les steps de très importants et intégrer les gens dans le processus.
00:17Empowering youths through debate et dialogue.
00:20Cette édition de Doha Forum Youth Edition brings together plus de 150 global youth leaders,
00:26diplomats and industry experts under the theme Justice in Action, Beyond Promises to Progress.
00:33Organized by Qatar Debate and supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Media City Qatar,
00:39this two-day event serves as a prelude to the Doha Forum,
00:43providing a platform to advance youth-led ambitions in solving the most pressing global issues.
00:49The theme of Doha Forum Youth Edition mirrors the main theme of the main edition,
00:53but mainly looking at it from the perspective of youth and most of the youth we have chosen
00:59are from the ages of 18 to 35, are established youth leaders in their own right.
01:04Over the years, Qatar Debate's strategic partnerships have not only helped the organisation develop talent for its members,
01:11it's also propelled the readiness in preparing large-scale events like the Doha Forum Youth Edition.
01:17Our partnerships with Doha Forum, Ministry of Sports and Youth and Media City Qatar
01:23have been essential and important parts of the success of Doha Forum Youth Edition,
01:28mainly because, one, their area of expertise that they're bringing in
01:32and knowledge that they're bringing in into these forums and energy,
01:36but, two, because they have allowed us and have been integral parts
01:43into giving our youth seats in important tables and conversations.
01:49From diplomacy to healthcare, science and social work,
01:53youth delegates of 100 nationalities gather to chart new paths of change,
01:58with representatives from the host country stepping up to take the lead.
02:02I think it's very important for youth to participate in forums like this
02:06simply because the youth are the most disproportionately affected by a lot of these issues.
02:12Their futures, their careers, whether they have children
02:14and what those children's futures will look like,
02:17it's something that we'll have to deal with for decades.
02:19So this is something that is incredibly important
02:21because we also want to give voices to people who have been impacted
02:26or will be impacted the most.
02:28Through panel discussions, fireside chats, roundtables and workshops,
02:34the Doha Forum Youth Edition simulates real-life processes
02:37that demand negotiation skills, policymaking and effective communication.
02:43When you actually integrate the youth to be part of these events,
02:46to be able to attend the ceremonies or their sessions,
02:49as well as, you know, emulating the sort of political processes that happen.
02:53So for instance, the Doha Youth Forum, what we're going to do
02:57is we're going to have roundtable sessions
02:58where all of these delegates are acting as political changemakers, as policymakers.
03:04So it actually puts them in the steps of very important people
03:08and actually integrating them into the process.
03:11Gathering a group of diverse, ambitious and like-minded people in one place
03:15makes it the perfect melting pot
03:18where ideas are not only shared and exchanged, but also challenged.
03:22Changemakers not only come here to meet and cross-pollinate ideas,
03:26they are here to upskill themselves and to kind of challenge each other,
03:30leverage each other's expertise and competitive edges
03:33to kind of boost their changemaking to the next level.
03:36It just sets the stage for this current generation
03:38to handle the kind of pressure,
03:41handle that kind of insane multipolar world that we're coming into,
03:45to kind of be more ready to accept the beacon and torch
03:47from the current generation.
03:48The involvement of international speakers from several multilateral organizations,
03:54civil society groups and non-profits
03:56added a layer of global dialogue in thought leadership.
04:00Mirroring the Doha Forum's mandate,
04:03political commentators were also included in the lineup of delegates
04:07helping to inspire the next generation.
04:10I found my purpose as a young person,
04:12in large part because I was raised by, you know,
04:15very politically conscious parents.
04:19Look, everyone's in a different situation,
04:20so it's hard to give general advice,
04:22but I would just say for young people,
04:24always be on the lookout for ways in which,
04:26within whatever constraints you have,
04:28how helpful you can be to better humanity
04:31because ultimately, the future of the planet,
04:34you know, sort of relies on everybody
04:35making the best choices that they can for the collective good.
04:38Through dialogue, workshops and networking sessions,
04:41the success of the Doha Forum Youth Edition
04:44is a clear signal that empowering the youth of today
04:47shapes the leaders of tomorrow
04:49through collaborative action and a shared conviction
04:52for meaningful change to build a more inclusive
04:55and sustainable future.
