00:00in 1985 I'm on tour with my heavy metal band Attencroft we are supporting Venom and Exodus

00:15and I'm 16 years old and it all kicked off and it's we're doing big shows every night and it's

00:23amazing we're in Italy Venom at the height it's 1985 and it's 2,000 people and eight sort of mini

00:34stadiums and you know it was full-on I'm not sure which venue it was I think it might have been

00:43Milano room but it was like a saucer a flying saucer shaped venue so that's don't know if that

00:55was in my mind or whatever but do the gig and I'm alone backstage now it's not like how you would

01:09imagine because it's it was a big venue you know you go backstage in a sort of small venue you know

01:18you know you get you get a room and then there's the toilets over there and then there's the fair

01:23exit and you're out the back now this is like a spaceship sized massive stadium sort of venue so

01:31you know there's lots of rooms and stuff so I'm in this weight room the gig's finished I'm on my own

01:37and I'm in there because I'm hungry and like I'm always hungry so the you know after the shoot you

01:47would have food put out you know the venue would put food out right so instead of spending your

01:54dad's pocket money on food you if you just eat what the what what the catering staff had put out for

02:04the barns and the roadies you eat that then that leaves you more money for beer so that would that

02:10was the thinking with everybody so I'm on my own in this weight room after the gig and I'm just

02:19chomping away on a piece of probably rye bread with cheese there's a door to me left to me right and

02:30there's a door to me left it's quiet all there's like a a a sort of maybe some music in the distance

02:39here in the back there's a you know like a a low sounding rumble in the background because it's a

02:45venue and I'm just on my own having a peaceful like I'm the only person in the world it was one of them

02:54moments and there's a click to my right hand side the Dalton's so I look across this Tony Bray the

03:08drummer from Venom Abaddon he's got a briefcase and he he walks past and sort of give him a nod and that

03:21and he just walks past nothing unusual and he click the door on the other side of the room

03:28and he goes into that door and the door shuts so I'm just thinking oh he's got business to do he's

03:33got a briefcase and he's getting on with stuff start eating me rye bread with cheese just minding

03:43my own business having a quiet moment and then click there's another click again and I look

03:54and then through this door

03:58comes my instant thought was mafia these two men come in they're both dressed exactly the same

04:08right they have I thought mafia because they looked a bit like it looked like that they look like

04:16dressed like the 1940s in these suits and these long coats and with these sort of um

04:24what I don't know what they call them sort of hats you know from you know that era you know um

04:33um mafia so they look like just two mafia they were they looked they sort of looked they looked exactly

04:45the same as if they were twins and they looked they weren't weight in complexion but they weren't very brown

04:57and I think they had moustaches

05:03and I'm looking and I goes

05:06fucking hell they look like mafia and they just walked past me glided past me they didn't look at me

05:17they they just did as if I was invisible and they walked past and then click and they went into that room

05:25that tony brie had just walked in with the briefcase and then the door shut and I'm in this room again with both the doors shut

05:34and I'm just thinking

05:36fucking hell

05:38what's going on you like so I'm eating me rye bread with me cheese on

05:43that was weird that creepy that

05:45and then maybe he's a minute later

05:52and I'm having my own little piece for a moment again then click

05:57that door opens so I look I look over

06:00and these two mafia men

06:04who look identical

06:05came out that door shut the door and walked past again and went out and just glided past

06:18and they did as if I was in completely invisible did not look at me one bit

06:23and I'm just got my mouth up like I'm I'm like you know gobsmacked you know again

06:32and then they shut the door and that's and then that's it they were gone and I was just

06:40I was just I just thought that's weird that

06:45and then

06:50tony brie comes out the door

06:55flush dad

06:57and he says did you see that did you see them

07:01i says yeah he says the one mafia

07:06he says they've taken me briefcase it had all the money in

07:11he says it had all the money in from that night's takings

07:16from from all the the merch the merchandise taken so you know or maybe it was there

07:23but it had the money in

07:26and apparently these guys and I'm just thinking well I

07:30mafia that's what I thought I thought it looked like mafia

07:34I was like you know well you know I was like oh tony and then he went off

07:39back out that door on the right and he he was gone as well so I'm just

07:42I'm just I'm just like sugar me sure hasn't gone well fucking hell I'm just a guitarist in the band

07:48you know is there any more of that rye bread and cheese left

07:53so for years and years and years and years that was it there were the mafia

08:04I saw mafia and the stole

08:06takings

08:10of Avedon

08:11and that was that

08:15and obviously years and years later I'm looking at

08:19sci-fi programs you know you know ancient aliens and all this sort of stuff

08:23and it just the start of just

08:31I just thought hold on a minute men in black

08:37men in black

08:39and then you start from that I'm hearing all these all these stories about

08:44these men in black people that people have came across and I was like

08:52that's what they were

08:54that's what they were

08:56what are the chances of them

08:59there could have been mafia

09:00but what are the chances how would they be exactly the same looking

09:05and how would it they would just completely ignore us if I was invisible

09:09how would they glide across the floor one way and glide across the floor back the other way

09:14how would I get a children in the back of my spine

09:17how would it be so weird and bizarre if they were just mafia

09:28and

09:30that was my

09:33I'm convinced that was my

09:36men in black experience

09:37and whatever the men in black are

09:42whatever all that is about

09:44they were definitely men in black

09:47and I think

09:49maybe

09:51I think Tony Bray

09:55I've never spoken to him about it

09:59and

10:01maybe he thought they were mafia

10:03but if they were mafia

10:10they were

10:11they were

10:12they put on a great men in black act

10:14that's for sure

10:24them
