00:00Hey, I'm Nemo, and last year I won Eurovision, and with it, this trophy.
00:09And even though I'm immensely grateful for the community around this contest and everything this experience has taught me, both as a person and as an artist,
00:21today I no longer feel like this trophy belongs on my shelf.
00:24Eurovision says it stands for unity, for inclusion, and dignity for all people.
00:32And these are the values that make this contest so meaningful for me.
00:37But Israel's continued participation during what the UN's Independent International Commission of Inquiry has concluded to be a genocide
00:45shows there's a clear conflict between those ideals and the decisions the EBU is making.
00:51This is not about individuals or artists.
00:56It's about the fact that the contest was repeatedly used to soften the image of a state accused of severe wrongdoing,
01:04all while the EBU insists that this contest is non-political.
01:09When entire countries withdraw, it should be very clear that something is deeply wrong.
01:16And that's why I decided that I'm sending this trophy back to the EBU headquarters in Geneva with gratitude and with a clear message.
01:30Live what you claim, if the values we celebrate on stage aren't lived off stage,
01:38then even the most beautiful songs become meaningless.
01:42I'm waiting for the moment those words and actions align.
