Thanks to voice recognition, available in nine European languages and activated with the command "Hey Mazda," the driver can keep their hands on the wheel while simultaneously controlling various functions such as the climate control, power windows, seat adjustment, door locking, ambient lighting, audio system, head-up display, or the electric rear spoiler. Four microphones are integrated into the front and rear seats of the Mazda6e, allowing the vehicle to identify the speaker and respond to commands from all passengers.

Furthermore, the vehicle supports gesture control—a first for Mazda. Gesture control can be used for numerous functions, such as controlling the audio system, making calls, or taking a photo with the vehicle's selfie camera. As with other Mazda models, various vehicle functions and information can also be controlled or accessed via a smartphone app in the Mazda6e. With the dedicated Mazda6e app, users can manage charging schedules, pre-condition the interior, check the status of doors and windows, defrost the windshield, and much more. Another key feature of the app is Bluetooth key sharing, which allows the owner to grant access to the vehicle to up to three users permanently or for a predefined period. Users can thus be given unrestricted or restricted access while retaining full control of the vehicle via the app.

The Mazda6e features a 14-speaker Sony® Clear Phase audio system that delivers a rich, clear, and balanced sound experience. An external speaker behind the front bumper also allows for music playback outside the vehicle.
