00:00Hello, what's up channel friends? Once again, welcome to the new video.
00:04My name, if you don't know me yet, is Vyayudileo, a stylist and colorist here in Miraflores, Lima, Peru.
00:10In this particular video I want to talk about a very important and recurring topic
00:15Regarding the questions you always leave me in the comments.
00:19How can I cancel a reflection? How can I get rid of this color?
00:23Is my hair orange? Is my hair red? I don't like it?
00:27What should I wear? What should I do?
00:28If you have that situation, if you always have those doubts, here I'm going to give you an explanation about
00:32how it works and what you could wear.
00:35So without further ado, don't forget to subscribe, don't forget to like,
00:39Don't forget to comment and let's get this video started now.
00:48Here we talk about neutralization and in what cases we see it.
00:52In case you've suddenly dyed your hair, applied a color
00:56And out of nowhere, orange reflections appear, yellow reflections appear, or coppery-orange reflections appear.
01:02If you didn't want or want to cancel that red reflection, don't worry.
01:07Today I'll show you step by step how to neutralize those unwanted tones and colors using Shades
01:13CQ. In this particular case, we're going to work with demi-permanent hair color, with Shades CQ, with
01:19which will add shine and cancel out unwanted colors without damaging our hair.
01:25To understand in a more practical way how reflections are neutralized, we must first
01:32Knowing that there are primary colors, secondary colors, and that these colors can also be divided
01:39between warm colors and cool colors. We will usually neutralize a warm color with a
01:45cool color. In our color circle, in our chromatic circle, we will be able to see
01:52The color that neutralizes another is its opposite. That is, if I have red here, the one that
02:01What will neutralize it is green, which is a secondary color. Why? To talk about it
02:08A little more divided or a little deeper, red is a primary color, and if there are three primaries
02:15I'm missing yellow and blue. And what makes up yellow and blue? Green. So,
02:22If I complete the green with red, there I would have the three primary colors which in their sum give me
02:29They would result in a neutral color, a brown, a gray, a neutral tone. With what reflection?
02:37Basically. What highlighter should I use? What can I use to cancel or neutralize orange tones?
02:42I'm going to neutralize them with blue. And within the Redken range, blue is considered the equivalent of ash.
02:48Blue. Ash? Blue ash. What do I use to neutralize the yellow tones? I'm going to
02:54Neutralize with violet. With all shades of violet or pearl tones. Anything we consider appropriate.
03:00Iridescent. What do I use to neutralize red tones? Well, in that case, with green. Green is going to be your...
03:07salvation, which is matte, to be able to neutralize the red colors that you no longer want in your
03:12Hair. One of the most commonly used shades in hairdressing for us, for example,
03:20It would be the 09B girl. In this case, there's now an option which is the 10BB or the 10BDV. It depends on the
03:30Concentration. If you have a slight golden tint and want to cancel that reflection, but also
03:37You want to go overboard and not end up with that sort of lilac reflection that can
03:43Sometimes having hair, I'd say you can work with the 09B girl or you can work now, if it's a
03:49more intense concentration load of yellow or gold pigment, with 10BVBV or B girl B girl.
03:56If you tell me you still have a little coppery oxidation, the truth is that for coppers
04:03We should work from a height of 6, 7 and up to 5, where there is also a little bit of red present.
04:14But to neutralize a tone, if it's a blue tone, it has to be an ash blue tone. In this case.
04:21From Peru, Reptel doesn't have the color coding for a large 06B. What I can recommend is...
04:29What we could do is merge, merge the large 09B, the large 09B with an 01B, which are the only two colors that
04:48It has the shade here on its color chart in the ash blue tone. What's going to happen? If you're a
05:00For colorists just starting out, this tip will be incredibly helpful. 9 plus 1 equals 10.
05:08level heights they have, but the 10, since they are two colors, I have to mix them in equal parts.
05:14By mixing them in equal parts, I'm going to divide them in two. What will I get from this? I'll get a large 05B.
05:22The large 05B will help me neutralize more coppery tones, but at a level 5. And since I suddenly
05:30I want a 6 or a 7, I can dilute it by adding 10 ml, 15 or 20, depending on the needs of what I want to do.
05:39from Crystal Clear, to dilute the concentration of the reflection a little and so that it doesn't improve as much.
05:48If you suddenly want to, but don't have the option of getting big breasts and you have a natural one,
05:56You could go straight for an 06M, which also has ashy and iridescent pigmentation, but it's a bit
06:03It's too short, it's a bit light. So, what can I suggest to help you add a few centimeters?
06:09of blue toner? Previously, JZQ and before specifically within the JZQ family,
06:15There were kickers. There was a blue kicker, an orange kicker, and a yellow kicker. What were these kickers for?
06:22As intensifiers, as toners, to be able to add the mixture to a color,
06:27intensify its color or even cancel others. In this case, it would have been possible to add
06:32a 01 or a 05 in grams, in milligrams, to the mixture to help enhance the blue mixture.
06:42Since it doesn't exist, this is something the brand obviously doesn't recommend because they don't have toners.
06:47Nor cream mixers. But if you only have an 06 and you urgently need to neutralize, get the 06N from JZQ.
06:56and add an average of 4 centimeters of blue tint to the mixture.
07:02So, with that you'll be able to help neutralize it. Will it slightly change the cosmetic appearance of the JZQ?
07:11Yes, but you will be able to get the result. And always use the strand test as a guide.
07:16Make your mixture and apply it to a strand of hair. Then you'll be able to see how much it's canceling.
07:22Sometimes it's too much, you wash it immediately. Sometimes it's too little, you can add another centimeter.
07:29It's a way of calibrating your mix so that it can give you a better result.
07:34And yes, I know the brand doesn't recommend it. I know the brand doesn't tell you to do this in its instructions.
07:39But I'm talking about if it's an extreme case where you really need to do it.
07:43First, apply your Mixa, your toner, your blue intensifier to the bowl.
07:48Prepare the JZQ mixture and gradually combine it so you can dilute it more easily.
07:55and it will save you from a lot of trouble.
07:57That's a practical tip because we know that sometimes we run out of colors.
08:01And until the next order arrives, what do we do?
08:04So it works very well, believe me.
08:08If we wanted to neutralize the reds, we would also work with our series of mates.
08:15We need to work with the series of slam dunks.
08:18In this case, if we have an 07M, with an 04M, we have more options.
08:25This here is a blue-green.
08:26In case you still have any coppery tones and you want to cancel them,
08:31It will help you neutralize it.
08:33In the GN family, we have an 06G, yes, but be aware that it's green with yellow.
08:40It has a slightly more translucent appearance, because the yellow is a little lighter.
08:45The green is not as concentrated.
08:47You can help him with a mixer too.
08:50If you can get your hands on a liquid mixer, that would be spectacular.
08:52But you can boost it a little more, since normally the color heights
08:57where the shades of red and orange are more prominent
09:00They are between 4, 5, 6 up to 7, where it is already more orange
09:05and by the 8th we already started to see a yellow.
09:08So always remember this.
09:11Yellow is canceled by violet.
09:14Red is canceled by mate, which is green.
09:16And orange, copper, is canceled by blue, which is ash blue.
09:21Now we're going to do the test on a strand of hair where I'm going to apply the mixture.
09:26We're going to neutralize it so you can see the result of how a reflection is canceled or changed as desired.
09:33In this case, I have this streak, which is blonde, as you can see here,
09:38which I have already bleached.
09:41I have a part that is a little lighter, towards the tip.
09:44I have this one that's more yellow.
09:47And to this mixture we're going to apply 09B Chica so you can see how it cancels out the yellow.
09:54And to this mixture, which is also lightened, to this strand, which is a little more brownish-orange,
10:01I'm going to apply the mixture with a few centimeters of the blue mixer so you can see what result it gives me.
10:09Okay, so I'm going to prepare the colors and show it below.
10:13I'm going to show it with the camera directly on the highlights.
10:17So I'll see you in a moment.

14:29Now we'll move on to the wick, which is the large 09B wick. This is the large 09B wick, by itself.
14:37The discoloration was at about a level 7, something like that, oxidized. Look, this is the result I got.
14:48Here so you can see it better, it significantly reduced that porosity, that oxidation it had.
14:53because it was colorless, it was just a highlight that had been done with a strand of natural hair.
14:59To see the result. So, this is what the large 09B leaves me with. Why did I do this?
15:06With this, for example, we can see that yes, the warmth has decreased a little, but not by much.
15:11Because the ideal size for this wick height would have been a 07, an 08, but more specifically a large 07B.
15:19That would have been spectacular, so that it would neutralize me more due to the same height.
15:24Being a large 09B, it was very light and its pigment is more diffuse.
15:29And now, the big reveal of the night, the trick I taught you, which will probably make me look bad, but it works.
15:41This is the wick that is the large 09B with 3 centimeters of blue toner or intensifier or mixer.
15:50Look at the cool brown color that remained over the same bleaching.
15:55Was it the same wick? I finally decided to cut it to prove it.
16:0009B large alone and 09B large with blue shader.
16:06You have to work in centimeters. In centimeters. For example, for me, one centimeter is almost the size of my fingernail.
16:15So, if you're at a height of 6, I'd tell you to add 4 centimeters. If you're at a height of 7, I'd tell you to add 3 centimeters.
16:24If you're at a height of 8, you need to be careful. You could add 2 centimeters, but be careful because if you add too much intensifier or blue mixer, it will also turn green, and you won't like it.
16:37So, we need to calculate. This is more for very warm, very orange, very reddish backgrounds.
16:42You could do the same with green. Add a few centimeters of green intensifying tint if you want to give it more vibrancy.
16:49But look how beautiful the result is.
16:52And look, the same color with and without an intensifier or toner.
16:58As I repeat, of course, I have worked with a super clear height, a level 09, the big 09B, the blue, the ash blue.
17:07So, it gives me those results.
17:09A common mistake that people sometimes don't realize is wanting to darken it.
17:14If, by chance, your hair didn't turn out the color you expected at the salon with your colorist, or you didn't get the result you were hoping for, or you applied a color and it wasn't what you expected, don't worry.
17:28Seek professional advice.
17:31Don't try to put one color on top of another on top of another because you can see and it might be more or less okay.
17:37Always seek the advice of a professional because they will understand that you need to cancel, neutralize, nullify a reflex or intensify it.
17:48Therefore, always seek professional advice.
17:50If in this case you no longer want to know anything about the person who applied the color, then that's fine.
17:56Seek advice from another expert.
17:58Don't rush into chemical processes that could further complicate your color and damage your hair unnecessarily.
18:06Another very common mistake is to be guided by packaging.
18:10You see a little box, the little box looks wonderful, it looks pretty, but when you put it on, it's different.
18:16Many commercial brands, many brands of home hair coloring, invent random names, they invent names like that to say hazelnut blonde, sand blonde, foch blonde, mahogany brown, I don't know what.
18:30And they have nothing to do with the formula that the numbers ultimately have.
18:34Never be guided by the brand name.
18:37Always ask what each number tells you.
18:40Remember the numbers, as in the other video, we have the pitch, the primary reflex, and the secondary reflex.
18:48If in this case you have the color a red tone and you no longer want to know anything about red and you have a 6.6, you would have to look for a 6.7, a matte, a green.
19:02But if you're going to add, for example, a copper or a gold color, the copper will turn back to red, a coppery red.
19:10Similarly, as a home customer, if this whole topic overwhelms you and you don't know how to help yourself with maintenance.
19:19For example, if you are blonde, there are violet shampoos, purple shampoos.
19:24You can apply it once a week, and that purple shampoo, even though its pigment is mild, will help neutralize the yellow in your golden highlights that you don't like so much.
19:35The same applies to Latinas, those of us who have brown bases, very warm browns.
19:43There is blue shampoo.
19:44Blue shampoo will help us neutralize the orange reflection in hair with a shampoo without needing to put so many chemicals into the hair.
19:52Also, once a week, it's best to wear gloves because it can stain your hands or nails a little.
19:59You apply your normal shampoo, leave it on for 3-5 minutes, and then rinse it out with plenty of water.
20:05So, through your washes you will also help your color not to oxidize so much or it will help to neutralize it in a gentler way without having to manage so much knowledge of coloring.
20:19If you are a customer who really doesn't know anything about dyes.
20:22So, I hope this information is very helpful to you.
20:26And that's all, folks.
20:29Thank you for joining me in a new video.
