00:00The audacious airborne assault cut off the retreating Pakistani Brigade.
00:12Severe their communication lines and blocked the crucial Dhaka-Tangel axis.
00:30...and rugged sectors during the campaign. They showcase what a helicopter fleet would have executed then.
00:40Swift insertion of troops, rapid movement of guns and continuous reinforcement across unforgiving terrain.
00:47So it's a great honour for us to celebrate the Vijay Devas today.
01:00Today we celebrate the sacrifices made, the indomitable spirit of our predecessors who gave us this thumping victory in 1971 and liberated Bangladesh.
01:14We've already said that we never fight a war without a cause and we all are aware what happened during 1971,
01:23what kind of atrocities were being made on the people of Bangladesh and what kind of movement of Bangladesh into our country was.
01:34So we had to stop it somehow and give them a thumping reply.
01:41And I'm very happy to share the memories of that time, the way Indian Air Force stood rock solid and delivered what was expected.
01:52Whether it was during the Boira day operations in November when three Sabre jets were shot in the air by our Nats.
02:00Or whether it was during Meghna crossing or Tangel air drop or whether it was the final blow by attacking the governor's house in Bangladesh which brought the war to an end.
02:13So in those 13 days of swift action by the Indian Armed Forces, we saw Pakistan coming to terms and buckling under pressure and calling it a ceasefire.
02:28So this operation was not only a big success for Indian Air Force, it was also a big success story we call the jointmanship also.
02:39Because the kind of operations that were planned during the Meghna crossing or during Tangel drop,
02:44it wouldn't have been possible without the close coordination between Army and Air Force.
02:50And the way the three services operated together in the Western sector especially with the Navy also taking part,
02:56I think it was a very good lesson that we learned in jointmanship and how joint operations can win us a war in a quick time.
03:04And the lessons that we drew that time, I am happy to say that Indian Air Force has continued to train itself and equip itself in the manner that during this last requirement of Ops Indoor,
03:18we again were able to carry out the same similar swift action and bring the war to a close within a matter of four days.
03:27Again, you know, proving the point that if you are committed, if you are training well, if you are able to strategize well, you are able to achieve the targets or achieve the objectives that are set out for you.
03:41So, thank you very much all of you for coming here and, you know, being a part of this celebration.
03:46Let us all make sure that in times to come, country continues to grow in terms of jointness, in terms of equipment, in terms of training,
03:56so that the defense forces are able to do the job that they are meant for.
04:00Thank you very much. Jai Hind.
04:05We from the media also congratulate you on the successful, pretendest success on Operation Sindoor.
04:11Sir, if we are to fight a two-front war today, how prepared the Indian Air Force is?
04:17Very much prepared for a two-front war because it is not just how prepared is very loose, if I can say, it is not a very objective term, it is a subjective term.
04:29So, we always prepared based on what we have, what the enemy has, what kind of training they do, what kind of training we do, what tactics they follow, how do they strategize.
04:40So, it is a, like I have always been saying, it is a cat and mouse game.
04:44So, we need to keep changing our ways of fighting and keep changing our, you know, the objectives that we set for ourselves, so that we are able to achieve the objectives that we set.
04:55So, we are very much prepared, we are aware that this is a looming threat, but nobody wants a war, but if it is thrust on us, we will be able to give a bloody nose to the enemy.
