At a Christmas sale, Vanessa Mayfield, a soldier's widow, meets antique dealer Ben Miller. During his time in town for work, their friendship begins to blossom. But problems arise when Ben's father unknowingly comes into possession of a box of antiques containing Vanessa's Christmas ring, a missing family heirloom with immeasurable sentimental value.
