07:35all those pictures that we've collected of the french dream
07:38has finally come to realisation
07:40if that wasn't enough beyond the garden is this magnificent barn
07:46giving infinite possibilities for their future business
07:49i think what you could do in here
07:52oh i know already small intimate weddings
07:54yeah i think this would be better as a cookery school or restaurant
07:59i think space is is good for gatherings
08:02yeah to bring the community here for us to get to know if we want
08:05yeah
08:06wouldn't this be nicest to us you eat steve
08:08it'd be nice in a big garage
08:09i don't think so
08:11for all the finalists the new life in france they've dreamed of
08:17is now tantalisingly close
08:19the best dream you've ever had
08:22times this plus a million
08:24and you still wouldn't get close to this
08:26it is fabulous
08:27it's huge
08:28and there's so much potential here
08:30it's going to be amazing
08:32it makes us think
08:33we can do this
08:34make our hopes and dreams
08:36even bigger than we thought
08:37we can imagine living here
08:40running a bnb in this beautiful village
08:43this is it innit
08:44this is what we want
08:45this is the lie
08:46but the hosts can't get too carried away
08:51to win this bnb
08:53they must prove they have the passion
08:55skill and vision
08:57to make it thrive
08:58and the judges have set the ultimate challenge
09:01oh no
09:03here we go
09:05here we go again
09:06do you think that might be a late birthday card
09:09throw that away
09:10a golden envelope
09:12let's have a little read
09:13each couple will run the prize house for 24 hours
09:17you will get the keys at 1pm on the day of check-in
09:21while you're hosting at bnb
09:22you will have three bedrooms occupied by guests
09:25you'll need to provide a three-course dinner at 6.30pm
09:29and we ask you eat with your guests
09:32we would also ask if you could provide a welcome gift in the rooms
09:37something that reminds the judges who you are from the heat weeks
09:43they'll never forget us anyway will they
09:45breakfast must be served the following day at 8.30pm
09:48and the guests must check out at 10am
09:51after checkout you will host an excursion for your guests
09:56doing an activity that relates to your bnb usp
09:59for the rest of the week you will be sampling the local area to get inspiration for your business plan
10:07and at the end of the week you'll present a business plan for your bnb to the judges
10:12that's going to be tough
10:14the judges challenge is designed to push them further than ever
10:20and reveal which couple has what it takes to make a success
10:25the hosts may think that this week's going to be a walk in the park
10:31but they've got a very very short window of time to prove just how good they are
10:38we need to know what their usp is how are they going to make a business like this work
10:43do they suit this area
10:45they need to find that one thing or those few things that are really going to drive people to them
10:52to have a buoyant business especially
10:55it's a really crowded market out there
10:59you've got to stand out in it somehow
11:01so that's what they've got to work out
11:04for three couples the race is on to uncover what the area has to offer
11:09and build a business plan to impress the judges
11:12but one couple are about to take the reins of the prize house
11:17and guess who's coming for dinner
11:20your guests will be judges
11:22Nicola, Eva, Andrew and Brennan
11:24your favourite boys
11:26God, I can't believe it
11:28it's Nicola and Roy's time to shine
11:32and the stakes couldn't be higher
11:34just 24 hours to rise to the challenge
11:37or see their dreams slip away
11:4090% of the time I feel really confident that we'll do it
11:43and then 10% they go well by and think we'll never do this
11:46I doubt it sometimes
11:50look at that beautiful home we're going to get
11:51you hope we're going to get
11:53well I'll get it, I hope so
11:55it's finals week in the Limousin
12:06and the competition to win this prize of a lifetime is ramping up
12:10over the next four days
12:13each host will take up residence here for 24 hours
12:16and host the judges as their guests
12:19this week the focus won't be on changeovers or room inspections
12:26but the host's hospitality skills
12:28to help the judges decide
12:30who is best suited to call this place home
12:33you only rarely get to know somebody
12:36when you spend time with them
12:38and spend time in their home
12:39but then of course
12:41in 24 hours
12:42it's a tall order to impress us
12:44it's a tall order to impress us
12:45but I'm not so worried personally
12:47about branding or what they're doing
12:51I now want to see what they are like as hosts
12:54there's going to be nowhere to hide this week
12:57we want to look for passionate couples
13:00who are eager to win this house
13:03and run it as a B&B
13:04and really want to do this
13:05it's the people that make it
13:08and if you don't feel warm
13:10and comfortable with the people
13:12you're not going to tell your friends about it
13:15and you're not going to go back
13:16Nicola and Roy are first to take the reins
13:20they're out shopping at a local market
13:23in preparation for an intense day ahead
13:26need some more veg
13:28okay
13:28oh there's some veg down there
13:30yeah
13:31providing dinner for guests
13:33is a vital income source for B&Bs
13:36the judges are looking for who can provide a meal
13:39and an atmosphere
13:40that keeps guests coming back
13:42in heat week
13:49these hosts came under fire
13:50for not living up to their titles as chefs
13:53so Nicola and Roy
13:55must now prove that they've listened to feedback
13:57with a menu rooted in culinary skills
14:00and classic French tradition
14:02I think we've learned a lot in the heat week
14:05I really do mean that
14:06we've never done it before
14:08but I know where we tripped up
14:11and we'll definitely not trip up this week
14:13we know there was a few mistakes last time
14:16but this time we're far better prepared
14:19you don't do black pudding?
14:22black pudding?
14:23black pudding?
14:24no
14:24no
14:24okay
14:25I think the biggest improvement is
14:28the locally sourced food
14:29we really slipped up on that
14:31but we want to be able to go to the table
14:33and present the judges with meals
14:35and say this is from a local butchers
14:38bonjour
14:39bonjour
14:39I speak English, you're alright
14:41okay, that's good
14:41thank goodness for that
14:44thank goodness for that
14:44do you do Toulouse sausage meat?
14:49we're making cassoulet
14:50sausage cassoulet
14:51we're trying to make sure we look
14:53for locally sourced ingredients
14:55as much as possible
14:56they're local?
14:58Simon and I have a party
14:59just a little bit butchering
15:00and we're only about 15 minutes down the road
15:03oh very good
15:04we can't get much localeer than that
15:06no, definitely not
15:07everyone might describe us as lovely
15:09but being lovely isn't going to win the competition
15:12we've got to work hard to really impress them
15:15I have a few things up my sleeve
15:17a couple of game changers
15:19so yeah
15:20we'll let the mystery do its work
15:23that will win your judges over
15:25and we will come and show up with you
15:26when we win our B&B
15:27yeah, we will
15:28take care
15:29bye-bye
15:29bye-bye
15:30the judges will be pleased with local produce
15:33yeah
15:33they'll be looking for that
15:34most important
15:35they will be looking for it
15:36yeah
15:36definitely
15:36as Nicola and Roy begin the 24 hours
15:41that could change their lives
15:43Michelle and Steve are kick-starting
15:45their research of the area
15:47they're going to check into a successful B&B
15:50to find out how to survive
15:52in a crowded market
15:53I wonder what sort of B&B it is
15:59I know
15:59do you know what I mean?
16:01is it a posh one?
16:02is it just a normal one?
16:04well I'm getting a bit jittery
16:06Michelle and Steve have stood out in the competition
16:10for their originality
16:12now they need to turn that into a business plan
16:15this luxury treehouse
16:17built in the grounds of a chateau
16:19by Nat and Andy
16:20shows how being unique can really sell
16:23hello

17:02Andy does all the
17:04handy bits
17:05yeah
17:05oh
17:06oh Steve
17:08oh this is amazing
17:09oh look at this for kids
17:11mind your head Steve
17:12wow
17:13I'll tell you what
17:14it's clever
17:15if we're not moving out
17:17we're stopping
17:17so we'll leave you to get settled in
17:21and we'll check back in with you a bit later on
17:23enjoy
17:24thank you
17:24thank you
17:25thank you
17:26it's luxury
17:28the champagne
17:29yeah
17:30with the
17:30ball of fruit
17:31fresh flowers
17:32yeah
17:32it's just enough
17:33of course it is
17:33it's that thought that's gone into it
17:35yeah
17:35I love this touch
17:37I do
17:37because this touch happens in posh hotels
17:40yeah it does
17:40and cruise ships
17:42yeah it does
17:43so we're going to pinch that idea
17:44as a team they've really come together good
17:46because he builds it
17:48and she does all the interior
17:50a bit like us really
17:51while Michelle and Steve gather ideas for their dream
17:55for Nicola and Roy
17:58their one chance of making it a reality begins now
18:02as they take the keys to the prize house
18:05home sweet home
18:10yay
18:11I'm packing, get started
18:14yeah
18:15in just three hours
18:17the judges will be knocking at their door
18:20oh
18:21that's it on there
18:22tonight
18:23they'll be tested on their cooking and hosting skills
18:26but there's no room for error
18:28their unique selling point
18:31is very very important
18:33you've got to have a really really pinpointed message
18:37about who you're marketing to
18:38Roy's a baker
18:39yeah I'd love to see some baking happen
18:42and I'd love to see that tied in
18:44to their USP
18:46our welcome gift is
18:48Irish shoulder breads
18:49with homemade strawberry jam
18:52because last time we did the cookery class
18:54we made soda bread
18:56but stupidly we didn't put it out the next morning
18:59for breakfast
19:00they have a skill set
19:03which we didn't really get to see
19:06as much of as we thought we would
19:08you know Roy is a professional baker
19:10Nicola's a very good cook
19:12but what we saw in the heats
19:13was Nicola baking
19:15and Roy cooking
19:16yeah I couldn't really work that one out
19:18great
19:19what are you for you to make
19:20I was going to do the soda bread and scones
19:22but you're going to do the scones
19:23I'm doing the soda bread and scones
19:25which we discussed earlier
19:26they'll have you in the kitchen doing this
19:30how do you spell team love
19:32that's right there's no I in it
19:34I'll do the scones
19:36I'm meant to be the chef
19:37why don't you do the scones then
19:39we got my recipe
19:42a sticker recipe
19:43you're a huffy
19:45I think there was a lot of bickering the last time
19:49that's because they were doing it the wrong way around
19:51yeah I know
19:52oh now I'm happy
19:54I can feel the flour
19:55you're a weirdo
19:58you really are a weirdo
19:59in finals week
20:01the rooms are prepped and guest ready
20:03because the judges aren't testing their cleaning
20:06it's their hosting, warmth and culinary skills that are up for scrutiny
20:10I'll start on the creme release
20:13I wouldn't try and press ever
20:15she's French
20:16I'm a bit too scared
20:17I won't even ask her if she likes it or not
20:19while Nicola and Roy are knee deep in dinner prep
20:24Justin and Paul are out gathering key information
20:27to set their business plan apart
20:30the key thing is you have to know where you're living
20:33certainly can set up a business and advise people
20:36as to where to go and what to do
20:38if you don't know it
20:39they've made no secret of wanting a design-led B&B
20:44and just 30 minutes from the prize house is Aubusson
20:48this town is world famous for its tapestry
20:51and they're keen to make connections
20:53at the Aubusson Tapestry Museum
20:56hello
20:58hi I'm Justin
20:59I'm Jean-Philippe
21:00nice to meet you
21:01nice to meet you
21:02here in Aubusson
21:04we have this long tradition of tapestry making
21:07in the museum
21:08we have more than almost 60,000 visitors
21:10so it's like one of the main visiting sites here
21:13we're super excited to get a tour around
21:15you have here the most ancient tapestry of our collection
21:22this one dates from actually the 15th century
21:26amazing isn't it
21:27some very iconic imagery as well
21:29you will see when we go across
21:30that we will have more colours
21:32we'll have more details
21:33and you will see up to the maximum power
21:35I would say of the tapestry medium
21:37you do have to remind yourself that it's a needle and thread
21:42rather than paint and a brush
21:44to think it's here
21:45really this tiny little town
21:47it's really fantastic
21:50but it's the museum's contemporary collections
21:54that are sparking ideas for both their creativity
21:57and their business plan
21:58it almost looks like to me
22:01you know like a spray painting
22:02a new project with Oscar winning Japanese animator
22:06Heyao Miyazaki
22:07could be set to bring international tourism to the area
22:10and the door of their B&B
22:12people were always amazed
22:15that we are collaborating with 2Ghibli
22:17because now we have kids
22:18young kids
22:19and they are the ones that bring their parents
22:22which I think would be really interesting for us
22:24because then it gives us the opportunity
22:26to broaden our audience
22:28So here you see
22:31the weaving of the 5th tapestry
22:34from the Miyazaki project
22:36everything is handmade
22:37so they are going to do
22:3831 square metres like this
22:41Wow
22:41So there will be a big unveiling
22:43in Aubusson at the Cité next summer
22:46So that will be good for us, won't it?
22:49To draw in guests
22:50Yes, exactly
22:50If we win the B&B
22:52Especially Japanese tourists
22:53so I hope we learn Japanese by then
22:55because it's going to be loved
22:56As well as French
22:57Yeah, exactly
22:58It was incredible
23:00Anybody that's interested in the creative field
23:03would love this
23:04And it connects as well with us, doesn't it?
23:07Yeah
23:07And what we've researched
23:08and what we want to bring to the table
23:10It's in weaving distance
23:12Weaving distance, I like that one
23:14Meanwhile, at the prize house
23:21Voila
23:22It's the calm before the storm
23:25for Nicola and Roy
23:26Wrapping up the soda breads for the judges
23:29with a little message on it
23:31Do you want to read one out?
23:33We're not trying to butter you up
23:34but you really are the loaf of Roy's life
23:37I think it's a cracker
23:41It's brilliant, love it
23:42But very soon
23:44they'll be welcoming
23:45the most important guests of their lives
23:48I'm excited
23:50Who's in the judges tonight?
23:52But we have to be professional
23:53and friendly
23:55These guys do it for a living
23:56We're only starting it
23:57These guys could change our lives
23:58Well, absolutely
23:59What time is it?
24:03It's a quarter to four
24:04The countdown is over
24:08The time to be ready is now
24:11I need to go up to the rooms
24:13before they come
24:14The judges are already on their way
24:17And Nicola and Roy's destiny
24:20rests entirely with them
24:22The pressure's really on for them now
24:25Emotions will be running high
24:28They've only got 24 hours
24:29to prove they're the ones
24:30that need to be here
24:31Roy!
24:33The oven went off
24:34The pastry's all sunk on
24:35It's a lot of tomatoes
24:36It's make or break this week for them
24:39So either they'll be the winners
24:42or they'll be going home empty-handed
24:44There's four very different couples
24:47Each one could potentially win this
24:49And at this point
24:51It's anybody's game
24:53I wouldn't like to be in their shoes at the moment
24:56So grab it
25:00and go for it
25:02Exactly
25:02No, don't open it
25:04It's going too quick
25:06Roy, it hasn't even started
25:07The oven went off
25:08because the timer stopped
25:09In the limousine
25:21it's Nicola and Roy's time to shine
25:24as the intense scrutiny begins
25:26We're all together
25:28Hello
25:29Hello there
25:30Come in
25:31Thank you
25:32Welcome to our house
25:33Thank you
25:33Good to see you
25:34Hello
25:35What do you think?
25:37Oh, absolutely beautiful
25:38Couldn't ask for more
25:40Can you pick it on yourself
25:41living in the house?
25:41Yes, absolutely
25:42We've moved in, that's it
25:44Yeah
25:44Their warm hosting style
25:46carried them to the finals
25:48So will we check into your rooms then?
25:50Yeah
25:50Fabulous
25:51Come on ahead
25:52But now the judges want proof
25:55they have the fire
25:56to turn it into a business
25:57This is your room tonight
26:00This is your room tonight
26:00Oh, lovely
26:01Fantastic
26:02And your own bathroom
26:04Excellent
26:05And some little
26:06There's some water for you
26:07and some homemade treats from us
26:08Oh, thank you
26:10We'll let you settle into your room
26:11and we've got scones
26:12and tea and coffee downstairs
26:13when you're ready to come down
26:15Homemade?
26:16Yeah, of course
26:17So we like to hear
26:18Nicola and Roy are putting
26:21their culinary skills
26:23front and centre
26:24a tactic that nearly derailed them
26:26in heat week
26:27And this is your room even?
26:30Oh, lovely
26:31So there's no en-suite
26:33but the bathroom's just next door
26:34it's a shared bathroom
26:35And there's your little water station again
26:37Oh, thank you
26:38Oh, you made it
26:40Well, Nicola made it
26:41That's very nice
26:42That's very thoughtful
26:43Thank you
26:44So we'll let you settle in
26:46and then you can come downstairs
26:47and we've got homemade scones
26:49and tea and coffee
26:50Oh, I love screwing cutweights
26:51Alrighty, you're welcome
26:52Thank you, see you later
26:53Alrighty
26:53Bye
26:53Bye
26:54Bye
26:55Bye, Nicola
26:56This is your room this evening?
26:58This is your room
26:58Oh, this is lovely
27:00So did the bread
27:02Oh, and it's got a message on
27:04It's nice
27:04This bread isn't sweet
27:07but we hope it's up to your high standards
27:10Thank you very much
27:12Whenever you're getting packed
27:13or whatever's settling
27:14just come on down when you're ready
27:15Yeah
27:15OK
27:16Thank you so much
27:18All right, take care
27:18Gorgeous smells coming from up those stairs
27:21Oh, thank you
27:22Oh, the little welcome guest is incredibly welcome
27:26especially with scones as well downstairs
27:28I feel we're being quite spoilt
27:31Nicola
27:36Nicola
27:37Ready for a cuppa?
27:38I'm definitely ready for a cuppa
27:41A pot of tea there for you
27:42Hello
27:43Hello
27:44How are you?
27:45Good, thank you
27:46I smell coffee
27:48The scones coming in
27:50The baking
27:51The smell of cooking in the house
27:52It's their signature, isn't it?
27:54Yeah
27:54And it's such an engaging signature
27:57It's welcoming
27:58They really do give off the vibe that we've known them forever
28:02Your scones are delicious
28:03I need jam
28:04They're lovely
28:05So I've got a question for you, Nicola
28:06about the jams
28:07Is this something that you do at home?
28:09It is
28:09So when I make them at home
28:10And people buy them
28:11Or friends have them and stuff
28:13And yeah
28:14It's always that little jam
28:15Jummy
28:15Jummy co-creations
28:17I think they've really improved from week one actually
28:20They felt really comfortable and at ease
28:23And it just felt like they were running their own business
28:26In their own home
28:27I think which makes such a big difference
28:29I'm just really excited to see what's next
28:31Are we allowed to ask what's for dinner?
28:33Yes
28:34For dinner is a starter of tart to tam
28:37For mains it's sausage cassoulet
28:41And then dessert is
28:43Creme brulee
28:44I don't want to put pressure on your shoulders, Roy
28:48But I eat creme brulee at least once a week through work
28:51Because it's something we benchmark
28:52As part of the rosette assessment
28:54So if there's a creme brulee on the menu
28:56Nicola and Roy aren't the only ones
29:03Hoping to charm with afternoon tea
29:05Oh, you love me
29:07I love a good chai tea
29:08Yeah, this will be a good one for you
29:10Really different flavours
29:12I know
29:12Down the road
29:15Nicola and Brett are visiting a flower farm
29:17To brew unique ideas for their own B&B
29:20Bonjour
29:22Bonjour
29:23I'm Nicola
29:25Nice to meet you
29:26Christian, welcome
29:27Christian and
29:28Aurélie
29:28Nice to meet you
29:29Aurélie
29:29Welcome to the farm
29:30Oh, thank you
29:31We can go with me to harvest a flower
29:34And make a tea after
29:36Oh, lovely
29:37Lovely
29:37That sounds exciting
29:39Following the success of their chai tea welcome gift in Heat Week
29:44They're keen to see how French botanics could give them an advantage
29:48This is so pretty, isn't it?
29:51Yeah, this is really nice
29:52Wow
29:53There's so much variety here
29:55Yes, 50 variety of plants
29:57Wow
29:58You don't come here just for see the farm
30:01Okay
30:01You come for work
30:02Oh, he's putting us to work now then
30:05We're hard workers
30:06We're very hard workers
30:07Slowly
30:11So do you sell the teas at the local markets then?
30:16How do you sell?
30:17We work with boutiques
30:19Lovely
30:20Working with local producers like Aurélie and Tristan could be the key to a business
30:26plan that impresses the judges and swings the competition in their favour
30:31And your family, it's okay to come to France?
30:35Yes, and our children, they're 10 and 7 in August and right now they're learning French
30:42They're learning French so they, yeah, they want to come
30:45I can see your basket
30:47Yep
30:48Good guy, it's okay
30:50We go to the dryer?
30:51Yes, of course
30:52As part of the USP for the B&B, Nicole and Brett are keen to blend their Indian and Sri Lankan heritage
31:00with a French future they see for themselves
31:02I love Indian charity, what kind of leaf or plant could I add a special touch with?
31:09You can add roses
31:11Oh, lovely
31:12Rose, it's a balance for the charity
31:14Oh, and they're really pretty as well
31:17The reasons why we're going to move here with our children as a family because we want
31:22to buy into that French culture and source all of our goods from the locals
31:26For a perfect herbati, you need to break the leaf
31:31So break it up
31:33Tea tasting days will happen in our Salle du Fait
31:36That we aim to convert the barn into a local community hub that everyone can come
31:43Santé
31:44Santé
31:46Oh wow, there's so much flavour
31:48It's very refreshing
31:50We really learnt lots today
31:52They're so friendly
31:53And we're really passionate about tea making
31:55And that's one of the things that I want to get across
31:58I'm passionate when I serve a cup of tea because it's just made with fluff
32:04Back in Fenier
32:06Cheers, my dears
32:08Cheers
32:09Santé
32:10It's crunch time for Nicola and Roy as dinner is put under the microscope
32:15I'm not worried about dinner but I just want everything to be like
32:19Because they're all so nice, I just want everything to be absolutely perfect
32:22And I don't want anything to go wrong
32:25This is where Roy's meant to say nothing will go wrong
32:28Nothing will go wrong, darling
32:30Nothing will go wrong
32:31I need to try this tart
32:33With good home cooking central to their B&B's USP
32:37It's vital their French-inspired menu hits the mark
32:42Oh my god, that's a diet for
32:44I am a fire
32:45The hosts are giving it everything they've got
32:54I'm so happy
32:55I'm so happy
32:56Good luck for tonight
32:57You'll need it
33:01But at this stage in the competition, the judges won't be holding back
33:05Hello, folks
33:07Hello
33:08Hello
33:09Are you hungry?
33:10Absolutely
33:11Well, the table's set and the food's ready, so be prepared to join us
33:14Thank you very much
33:15Fabulous
33:17Maybe my only concern for Roy and Nicola is that it's so lovely
33:21But have they got the gumption to really fight for this?
33:25Go ahead, follow Roy
33:26Because I want to see proper cooking
33:31I don't want to see easy cooking
33:33And I know that we did say that less is sometimes more
33:36But actually I was lying
33:41Here we go
33:42Now we have starters, folks
33:45Roy is a chef
33:46It's what he does every day
33:48So I think I'm expecting even more from him
33:53Welcome to your potential B&B
33:57Best of luck, guys
33:58Thank you
33:59Thank you
34:00The awkwardness of meeting you first
34:02And the scariness we didn't have this time
34:04Because we met you
34:05Yeah, of course
34:06You don't know what's coming
34:07You did that very well
34:14It's a long week
34:26In the limousine at the prize house
34:28The first dinner of the finals is under scrutiny
34:32It's tomato tart tartan
34:34And the tomatoes are from the local market
34:36It's delicious
34:37It's so sweet
34:40Those tomatoes are so flavoursome
34:42Tonight, it's Nicola and Roy's only shot at wowing the judges
34:46And proving they've got the skills to make this incredible property their own
34:51I think what's been lovely so far
34:53Is that you've really treated us like returning guests
34:55And even though we've never actually stayed with you
34:57It just, yeah, felt like we were returning guests
34:59I hadn't actually thought if you hadn't stayed with us before
35:01You're like different people here
35:02Really?
35:03Yeah
35:04You've always actually seen more of your personalities
35:06Which is fantastic
35:07To see that
35:08I mean, you know we're vegetarian, right?
35:09Yeah
35:10I'm thinking it didn't say
35:11It didn't say
35:12It didn't say
35:13It didn't say
35:14Quick, run in and get them sausages
35:15Nicola and Roy's hosting skills are going down well
35:25But with cooking central to their B&B
35:28There's no room for anything less than perfection
35:31Oh, focaccia
35:33Oh, focaccia?
35:34Yeah, well it's a focaccia with a twist
35:36Wow
35:37It's a Belfast Sula bread focaccia
35:39And it's got rouge me and drizzled with olive oil
35:42Is that a recipe you've tested before?
35:44Yeah
35:45Many, many times
35:46Yeah
35:47Thank you
35:49Wow, that looks great
35:52So the sausages are from a local farm
35:56Yeah
35:57And the girl has a farm 15 minutes up the road
35:59That is good
36:00Mmm
36:01It's really good
36:03I'm seriously enjoying this
36:05It's very tasty
36:06Very wholesome
36:08Very rustic
36:09Very French
36:10It's really good
36:13Question about the property
36:15Yeah, yeah
36:16Do you feel like it's yours?
36:17I do
36:18Stop, I didn't want to say that
36:19We feel very at home
36:20Feel very at home
36:21Yeah
36:22No, I'm going to be honest
36:23Whenever we first approached the property
36:25We got very emotional
36:26Mmm
36:27We saw it
36:28I think this house is hugely overwhelming
36:31Yeah
36:32At the end of this week someone's going to have this
36:34I mean it's going to be
36:36And that's life changing
36:37It's not even like
36:38Can you imagine what it's like for us?
36:39Yeah
36:40It's got to be that we think in two years' time
36:42This is a viable business with whoever is at the helm
36:45Yeah
36:46We need to believe that the people that win this
36:49Are going to sustain it
36:51While Nicola and Roy are grilled over dinner
36:57Nearby Michelle and Steve are settling into the Treehouse B&B
37:01Where inspiration is striking for their prize house plans
37:05My idea this one
37:07So upstairs in the attic area
37:11Right
37:12Because Steve's good at this sort of thing
37:14We're going to recreate this
37:17So this is the family self-contained flat
37:20So they've got the kitchen bit
37:22They've got the bathroom
37:24But the kids
37:26And there the den
37:28And the money
37:30You can bring in for this
37:32It's amazing isn't it?
37:33I'm buzzing with this
37:35Because it is quite unique this
37:36It will be unique
37:37Hey guys
37:39It's also a chance for Michelle and Steve to put some questions to their own hosts
37:44You've got two of these
37:48Yeah
37:49So is it different pricing?
37:50That's what I want to ask
37:51No
37:52The pricing's the same
37:53Right
37:54Because the occupancy's the same
37:55So it's two adults and two kids in eat
37:57Oh right
37:58What do you charge for these then?
38:00Well it depends
38:01Is it dependent on time of year?
38:04Yeah
38:05Right okay then
38:06You can rent out like a chicken coop in August
38:08Yeah
38:09It's just any
38:10Everybody's looking for accommodation
38:12Yes
38:13But to get outside of that
38:14You know
38:15You've got to sort of be a bit more creative
38:17Is it the dream that you wanted it to be?
38:19Yeah
38:20Yeah it is
38:21It's definitely been the dream we were like hunting for wasn't it?
38:23Yeah
38:24I think we've achieved what we set out to achieve
38:25Which is amazing
38:26Yeah
38:27But it's challenging but it is rewarding
38:30Yeah
38:31It's an amazing place
38:32It's inspired us
38:33Yes
38:34Thank you very much
38:35See you later
38:36Bye
38:37Bye bye
38:39Interrogation over it's time for dinner
38:42Again delivered in Nat and Andy's unique style
38:48Bon appetit
38:50Thank you
38:51Oh that's posh in it
38:52Watch that baguette don't get stuck
38:55Go on grab it
38:56Oh
38:58I love this Steve
38:59Look at this
39:00Oh my word
39:01Look at that
39:02Wow
39:05Cheers
39:06You're not used to that are you?
39:07Yeah could you tell her
39:10Cheers and ears to winning it
39:12Ears to winning it
39:13We've got this haven't we Steve
39:14Go girl
39:15Can I drink it now?
39:19While Michelle and Steve enjoy a relaxing evening
39:22Across at the prize house
39:24Ava says she actually looks forward to the crunch
39:28Tension is mounting
39:30I'm a bit nervous because we've had a judge that eats it every day
39:36You know for her job
39:37Nicola and Roy are about to serve their final course
39:41There's no power this thing
39:43You just turned up
39:44You can turn it up
39:45You can turn it there
39:46That's it up
39:47That's ridiculous
39:50It's the moment of truth for the couple
39:54Oh sweet things are coming
39:57I do apologise because I didn't have the proper
40:01Bloodshores
40:02Bloodshores
40:03Is that what you found in the house?
40:04That's what I found in the house
40:05Yeah
40:10That's cracking that is
40:12That's very good
40:14I'm impressed
40:15Do you know what the whole dinner has been a great crack
40:18There's a lot of silence
40:25There's a lot of silence
40:29Is everything okay folks?
40:31It is
40:32I'm going to ask a question
40:33Did you bake the brulee?
40:36Yeah
40:37You did?
40:38The brulee is overcooked
40:39It's sort of gone like scrambled eggs
40:41Instead of the smooth texture it should be
40:44Yeah
40:45You've practised it for so long
40:47And you've practised it on the dishes you had at home
40:50With the oven you've got at home
40:52Please don't stress about the dessert
40:54Do you know what?
40:55None of us like crème brulee anyway
41:01As day one of finals week draws to a close
41:04The kids would just love it here wouldn't they?
41:06Yeah they really would
41:08For three sets of hosts
41:10It's been a chance to see what their dream life could look like
41:16Merci
41:17Merci
41:18It's a new life in France
41:20Cheers
41:21Oh my word
41:22It's alright once you get in
41:23Oh God
41:24Oh
41:26Oh Steve
41:27This is the life innit
41:28Yeah
41:29What are you doing?
41:30I'm
41:31I'm getting comfy
41:32It's only an octoblo
41:36I know we're not used to an octob
41:38But for Nicola and Roy the pressure has been real
41:44As they began their battle to prove they're the hosts who belong in this house
41:49So I think this evening's been a great success
41:52Yeah
41:53They enjoyed the company
41:55They thoroughly enjoyed the company and thoroughly enjoyed the food so
41:57I thought well they said they did
41:59Yeah
42:00Whether they did or not
42:01Well I don't think they would hold back Nicola
42:02No I don't think they would at this stage of the game
42:04It's yeah
42:05So I think
42:06I think we've done okay
42:08For now they've done all they can
42:10But only the judges can decide if it's enough
42:15We checked in with them this afternoon and I think we can all agree
42:18It was like staying with good friends
42:21Or an auntie and uncle
42:22Just felt so relaxed and at ease as soon as we entered the house like we'd been there before and it was so nice to see them again
42:28Genuinely it was and I think we all discussed as well that the house is nothing without the hosts
42:33100% they definitely bring soul and they're really very much the heart of the house
42:39It was like a home cooked meal I would have preferred the pastry of the tomato tartan to be a bit more crispy but it was delicious
42:49And then there was the little creme brulee problem but
42:52It didn't matter
42:53We all make mistakes when we're doing home cooking and it isn't a cookery contest
42:58He says even though we forgive him for the creme brulee and are 100% forgiven we need to take it to account the goods and the bars
43:05Excellent welcome sense of feeling at home
43:08It was the right kind of hospitality the right kind of approach for a rural B&B
43:13The one thing that we had really really pushed Roy and Nicola to show us this time around
43:19Was less humbleness and more oomph
43:23We definitely got that
43:24And we got that
43:25I just feel charmed
43:29But Nicola and Roy aren't safe yet
43:32Three other couples want this just as badly
43:35Tomorrow is their final chance to show they have what it takes
43:39And the smallest slip could cost them this prize of a lifetime
43:44I don't feel so wobbly now
43:46But tomorrow that could all change
43:48One thing could go wrong with breakfast and I'll be a wobble again
43:51It's not gonna go wrong
43:53Nothing's gonna go wrong
43:54Nothing's gonna go wrong
43:56We've got breakfast tomorrow
43:58And an excursion
44:00Can they sustain this charm?
44:02Breakfast was their one foible the last time
44:05Let's see how they do this time
44:07It's gonna be an interesting week
44:09It certainly is
44:12Next time
44:13It's wowsers
44:15The hosts are out and about
44:18It's bigger than our first block
44:21But emotions run high at the B&B
44:25Breath!
44:26Breath forgotten tomatoes
44:27I had to cry
44:28You look good
44:29Revolting
44:30Let's go to hog we go
44:31Give us a hug we go
44:33And the judges aren't holding anything back
44:36They're sweet
44:37They're very sweet
44:38That's not enough
45:01You!
