00:00We live in a magical time, right?
00:04Time where we can all be here for a night like this.
00:08We also live in a time where people don't agree on much.
00:16Everybody has their opinion, especially when it comes to this business.
00:23It seems that everybody has an opinion, whether it's fans,
00:27whether it's talent, whether it's media,
00:30whether it's the people in the back running the business.
00:33They all have their opinions on who the greatest of all time is.
00:44The thing is, you can measure it from a million different ways.
00:49In-ring performance, charisma,
00:53the ability to tear somebody up on this microphone,
00:57the ability to do PR, the ability to be a box office attraction.
01:02The categories are endless.
01:06But the truth is, they are all subjective.
01:10I have the unique ability to see it from a lot of different sides.
01:16As a fan, as a talent, as a performer, as a businessman, as a promoter.
01:23I can see all sides of what it takes to be considered great in this.
01:29And I think that tonight might be one of those nights where everybody in this building can agree on one thing.
01:37Because when I break it down from every category and from every side and look at it as maybe the most objective person there is,
01:52there is only one person at the top of that list, one person who was a box office attraction, one person who left it in this ring every single night for 20 years,
02:08one person that was ruthless on this microphone and could tear anybody apart, one person who did it all, did it all with a smile on his face, did it all because he loved this business as much as anybody on the face of this planet,
02:33and just wanted to see it elevated to the biggest form of entertainment on this planet possible.
02:40That one person, when I look at it objectively, is without a doubt the single greatest asset that this business has ever seen.
03:00For me, objectively, he is without a doubt the greatest of all time, and it is my honor to bring him out here now for you all.
03:18On your feet, ladies and gentlemen, for your hometown hero, for the one, for the only, the greatest of all time, John Cena!
03:48Come on, John Cena!
03:51Come on, John Cena!
04:05How do you ask him for business?
04:07Come on, John Cena!
05:47Ever since I announced my retirement,
05:53the one question I've heard a lot is who would you like to face?
06:20What goes on in here is a team effort and it does not happen without each and every one of you. Thank you.
06:30Very much.
06:34It's amazing how often this question came up.
06:38Who should John Cena face?
06:44But through it all, there was one question that I actually wanted to hear.
06:50And one person asked me that question, what do I want to do?
06:57What is my goal in this exercise?
07:01My goal is to leave this business better than I found it, and
07:05to do my damnedest to try to pay back all the opportunities.
07:11And chances to showcase myself in front of an audience that the WWE has given me.
07:16And that the fans have been gracious enough to put up with over the years.
07:20I am super excited about tonight because
07:26tonight in the Time Is Now Tournament, WWE superstars will showcase their skills
07:33to earn an opportunity for the chance to say, maybe they retired John Cena.
07:39They're gonna have to bring it cuz I'm not going down without a fight.
07:47Don't you worry.
07:48Another thing I wanted to do, and
07:52thank you for being so gracious to allow me to make this announcement,
07:56which means so much to me right here.
07:59On my last performance on this December 13th, Saturday night's main event.
08:06This is where it gets good, and this is where it means so much to me.
08:21It is a night to close one chapter, but it is also going to be, and thank you,
08:27a night of opportunity, yes, that's right, it will be my final in ring performance.
08:33But also, in a chance to give people a time to shine and showcase their skills,
08:39it will be a night where main WWE roster superstars host exhibitions for
08:46the brightest NXT has to offer for the future of this business.
08:55I said this does not happen without you.
08:58And without your interest on what goes on here, we will cease to exist.
09:03So December 13th is about closing one chapter, but
09:06also it is about paving the road ahead.
09:09And that's what I want for this tour.
09:13I did have one last ask.
09:20Thank you also for this one because it's selfish.
09:23I wanted to come to Boston one last time.
09:30I don't book the dates.
09:32I don't book the towns.
09:34Man, we've been in Brussels.
09:36We've been in London.
09:37We've been in Perth.
09:38I just wanted to come to Boston.
09:41One last time.
09:49I saw my first show in the old garden.
09:53And it means everything to me to stand in the TD garden,
09:56to feel the magic in the air, to look up at the banners from the rafters,
10:01to feel the greatness in this building.
10:04To be surrounded by friends, family, people I love, to be filled with joy.
10:13And to be able to stand in this ring and say thank you so much for all your support.
10:22And to be able to stand in this ring and say thank you so much for all your support.
10:38Really, Dom, really?
10:41Well, if John Cena has been the past 20 years of this industry, say hello to the next 20 years of this industry.
10:53Dirty, no mysterious.
10:55But not while Cena is giving the ultimate thank you in his hometown.
11:00That is reckless and limitless sense of entitlement to interrupt this moment.
11:05Truly distorted sense of self-worth by Dirty Dom, Wade.
11:10That was a little strong, Joe Test.
11:12That's John Cena back in Boston at this moment.
11:15Dirty Dom may just be coming out to say thank you, John Cena, for the past 20 years.
11:21Thank you for laying the groundwork for what this industry is going to be under the reign of Dom Mysterio.
11:31Here we go.
11:34I don't know what you were thinking about you doing all this, because I am the champion and I am the champion here!
11:52You see, you're talking about the future.
12:02Hunter, I wanna know what you're gonna do about what happened last week.
12:18I am your AAA mega-campeon, the greatest intercontinental champion of all time.
12:30And my celebration was interrupted by some deadbeat.
12:35And you see, that doesn't happen to me.
12:38I interrupt old men's celebrations, so I don't care what you got going on here
12:45because it's not as important as me.
12:50Uh-oh, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on.
12:56Let's calm down.
12:57We got a rowdy crowd here tonight.
12:59We got off to the wrong foot.
13:00Let's start again.
13:02Dom Mysterio.
13:07Welcome to Boston, Massachusetts!
13:16It's not about you or Boston.
13:21Why aren't you gonna sit in that corner, let the grown folk handle business, and speak when you're spoken to?
13:32Or, or, or, I'll put you down.
13:37Fine speech.
13:45But I think in the midst of your anger and your ego, you forgot where you were, and you forgot who you're talking to.
13:55I'm John Cena.
13:57This is Boston, Massachusetts!
14:00On any other night, in any other city, I give you a chance.
14:08Tonight, you don't have a chance.
14:11Tonight, I am invincible!
14:17So, champ, choose your words very carefully.
14:25Because if your next are to try to pick a fight with me, I promise tonight, you will lose!
14:33Wrong time, wrong place, wrong guy.
14:42But, I'm gonna do you a favor, out of the respect I have for your father.
14:52Right now, I'm gonna let you turn around and walk your ass back through that curtain.
15:03Oh, really, John?
15:18You're gonna need more than magic to touch me.
15:25Because I'm not even at my peak yet, and I'm better than you ever were in your prime.
15:32Any time, any place, any era, I would have whooped John Cena's ass.
15:46John, if I could take this for a second.
15:56I agree with the people here in Boston, Massachusetts.
16:01What did you say?
16:08Any time, any place, any era?
16:18Seems like a pretty damn good era.
16:22Seems like a pretty damn good place.
16:25And seems like one hell of a time.
16:31So if it's okay with you, Dominic, you will defend that Intercontinental Championship.
16:52Tonight, right here, right now, against the one and the only, John Cena.
17:08Now, get me a referee, and let's get to work.
17:21Wade Barrett, this is happening.
17:23No, no, no, no, no, no.
17:26John Cena against Dirty Dominic Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship is happening right now.
17:34We are already underway in the Intercontinental Championship match that was just made,
17:47and Dom Mysterio showed no respect.
17:50He jumped John Cena on the last echo of the ring introductions, Wade.
17:56Well, you wanna compete at the very business end of this industry, and John Cena knows all about that.
18:01You take whatever advantage you can.
18:03Dom opened his mouth.
18:08John Cena responded and said, not tonight, not here, where I'm invincible.
18:15And Triple H said, let's do it.
18:17IC Championship is on the line.
18:21To be clear, that is the one championship in John Cena's career he has never won.
18:27This would complete the set for John Cena.
18:30I'm flabbergasted that this match is even taking place.
18:33Certainly was not the game plan coming into tonight.
18:36Of course, December 13th is gonna be the finale for Cena in Washington DC.
18:42But here we are in Boston, nobody saw this coming.
18:45And his last chance to be a Grand Slam champion, win this IC, the Intercontinental Championship.
18:52And he will complete that, he'll be a Grand Slam champion.
18:57Not many firsts left available for John Cena.
19:00And by the look of this, Dirty Dom happy to get himself counted out and retain the championships.
19:06John Cena has other ideas.
19:09What did he say?
19:11Wrong place, wrong guy.
19:14In Boston against Cena?
19:16Welcome to it, Dom.
19:17Well, Dirty Dom came down here tonight just to talk to John Cena.
19:22But Matt has even thrust into it here, but that is one way to stem the flow of offense coming from John Cena.
19:30And potentially shut this partisan Boston crowd up for good.
19:37One of the loudest receptions we have ever heard just happened moments ago when Cena came out.
19:42But right now, John running to the steel steps.
19:45And Dirty Dom on top of those steps.
19:48Dirty Dom just feeding off this Boston crowd who are spewing bile and venom at him.
19:58And he's just bouncing off the Intercontinental champ.
20:01And the Triple-A mega campeon.
20:04Incredible to hear the words that came out of his mouth, though, to us.
20:0917-time world champion, the record for the most world titles in WWE history.
20:15One man who's so beloved, a hero to millions all over the world.
20:20The other who has cheated his way to success, slandering his own Hall of Fame father.
20:26It's not slander if it's true.
20:28He is a deadbeat dad.
20:30The smurching of Mysterio May.
20:37Well, John Cena came out a little earlier and said,
20:39not tonight, not here in Boston.
20:41In Boston tonight, I am invincible.
20:44This count is going on as Cena's down on the floor.
20:47Certainly does not look invincible now.
20:50Championship hopes about to die, but prolonged for how much longer?
20:56Oh, now Dom in the midst of going for three amigos against Cena.
21:04That is exactly how it's done.
21:08Really knocked the stuffing out of Cena and this Boston audience.
21:11A little shimmy and a shake.
21:14Let's put this one to bed.
21:15Oh, Mysterio in control.
21:18Into the cover.
21:19And Cena able to get that right shoulder up and kick out.
21:23And Dirty Dom has just been unflinching amidst the overwhelming abuse being thrown his way.
21:33Amidst the greatest of all time, John Cena implying,
21:37Dom, you have no chance.
21:39You're out of your debt.
21:41And we are getting a Dirty Dom masterclass so far.
21:44I think the way the crowd's reacting, it is deserved for Dirty Dom.
21:49As Cena rises to his feet.
21:53Delivers a series of right hands.
21:55Oh, he's got him up.
21:57Looking for the attitude adjustment.
21:58But instead, Dirty Dom with the DDT.
22:01Hooks the leg.
22:02Looking to put him away.
22:03And the kick out.
22:05The unexpected Intercontinental Championship match from here in Boston.
22:11It has been the Dirty Dom show so far, but things have changed.
22:29Here it comes.
22:30The running shoulder blocks.
22:31And John Cena is revving that offensive engine.
22:32On a mission to win the one championship that has eluded him his entire career.
22:36One last time in Boston.
22:37One last time in Boston.
22:41Here comes, the running shoulder blocks.
22:45And John Cena is revving that offensive engine.
22:49On a mission to win the one championship that has eluded him his entire career.
22:54One last time in Boston.
23:01As loud as you'll hear it.
23:11Five knuckle shuffle.
23:15And when John Cena hits this vein of form, it could be lights out Dirty Dom.
23:22Out the back door on the AA, and he puts him right to the post.
23:27A smart, smart maneuvering once again from Dirty Dom, who knew it was good night.
23:33If that AA had connected, try something, try anything.
23:39Now Dirty Dom back to his usual tricks,
23:42cooking up some shenanigans behind the referee's back.
23:47The medal on the turnbuckle is exposed.
23:51As Dirty Dom now out on the floor right in front of us,
23:55straight past his Intercontinental Championship, and it looks now.
23:58He's grabbing his steel chair.
23:59Steel chair, now the referee is distracted, fixing that turnbuckle.
24:03Oh, this is brilliant once again from Dom Mysterio.
24:06Oh, no.
24:07A step ahead of all of us.
24:09Steel chair.
24:10Eddie's style here.
24:12Oh, oh, that's brilliant by Cena.
24:15You want to talk about brilliant?
24:16Eddie, Eddie, Eddie, Eddie, Eddie, Eddie, Eddie.
24:38You're gonna applaud that too, John.
24:40Hey, hey, hey.
24:41Hey, hey.
24:42This is too good.
24:43That is too good, Wade.
24:46That's it.
24:50No, here he goes, right back into it.
24:52Bouncing and clinging over dear life is-
24:55Second attempt and an out of, no.
24:58The referee was taken down hard.
25:03STF is locked in, but the ref was locked down.
25:06Well, center of the ring, dancing,
25:08Dominick and he does the tap.
25:10He taps out.
25:11They say they should be the Intercontinental Champion.
25:14We've got no bell.
25:16The ref didn't see it.
25:18You play to the whistle or you play to the bell.
25:20That did not ring.
25:21Referee down, inadvertently knocked over.
25:25Dom tapped out, Wade.
25:27Referee doesn't see it.
25:28It doesn't count.
25:30You know that as well as I do.
25:31John Cena knows that.
25:33The emotion at the moment, perhaps getting the best
25:36of Cena there, and with the ref down,
25:38the championship now coming into play.
25:41Tom's got the championship in his hand, looking to line up Cena.
25:46Cena ducks it, right back to it.
25:49Hey, hey.
25:51Well, you can count to 30 here.
25:58We got a ref, we got a live one.
26:01Two and change.
26:07And the hopes of this packed out audience in the TV garden just went up in smoke.
26:16John Cena, he has conquered everything else on the major roster in terms of championships.
26:27Trying to be a Grand Slam champion with a win tonight.
26:32The winningest superstar in Raw history.
26:36Tripped up.
26:38Dom's lining him up for a 619 and delivers it.
26:41Right to the jaw of Cena, and this is the big finale for Cena here in Boston.
26:49Frog splash, but still Cena rolls right through.
26:54With Dirty Dom in hand.
26:58AA for the win.
27:01Two, three.
27:05Here is your winner, the new Intercontinental Champion,
27:17John Cena.
27:23The empty spot on the mantel place is filled.
27:29John Cena's a Grand Slam champion.
27:35Well, John Cena is a lot of things, but he said, I am invincible in Boston here tonight.
27:43And when this frog splash connected, it should have been game over.
27:48And if John Cena wasn't invisible, invincible, he would have been over, but one pop-up and an AA later.
27:58And John Cena has just shot and elated this crowd in equal measures.
28:09In front of his hometown fans, one last title in his grasp.
28:16And you believe this, in Boston.
28:23Thank you so much, Boston, because of you, tonight, the champ is here!
28:35This year, we applied the phrase, the never-seen-17.
28:42And now, how about one for the road?
28:44The last time is now just came with a last call.
28:50And it serves up the Intercontinental Championship in the hands of New England's native son.
28:57John Cena defeats Dirty Dubs.
29:04John Cena defeats Dirty Dubs.
29:11.
29:18.
29:20.
29:26.
29:30.
29:31.
29:32.
29:33.
