00:00The flickering bulb in the motel room was the only thing cutting through the darkness. Rain lashed against the window as Jason stumbled inside, completely soaked and out of breath. He slammed the door shut, the sound echoing in the small space, and fumbled with the lock, his hands shaking.
00:25Just one night, he muttered to himself, his voice raspy. That's all I need. He threw his wet bag onto the musty bedspread and pulled out his phone, hoping for a distraction. No signal, of course. A deep frown creased his forehead.
00:48He headed into the tiny bathroom, the peeling paint and grimy tiles doing little to soothe his nerves. He turned on the rusty tap and splashed cold water on his face, trying to wash away the exhaustion and the lingering sense of being followed.
01:09When he looked up, his heart leaped into his throat. The mirror was completely fogged over, except for two words, as if written by a finger.
01:22You're not alone. He jumped back, his eyes wide. What kind of sick joke is this? He yelled at the empty room. He frantically wiped the condensation away. Nothing, just his own terrified reflection staring back.
01:42He rushed out of the bathroom. He rushed out of the bathroom and checked the main door, still locked. Then a sudden, unnerving silence fell over the room.
01:54The drumming of the rain outside had stopped completely. The world felt like it was holding its breath. Just as the quiet became unbearable, his phone buzzed in his hand, the screen lighting up the dark room.
02:12An unknown number. The message was short and chilling. Don't look under the bed. That's it. I'm leaving, Jason declared, his voice trembling. He grabbed his bag from the bed, ready to bolt, but the doorknob wouldn't turn. It was stuck fast.
02:33He pulled with all his might, rattling it desperately. It felt like it was locked from the outside. Panic began to set in. He was trapped. His eyes darted to the bed, the warning on his phone echoing in his mind.
02:54Against his better judgment, his gaze was drawn downward. Slowly, cautiously, he bent down, his heart pounding in his ears. He lifted the edge of the bedspread and peered into the darkness underneath.
03:12Nothing. Nothing. Just dust bunnies and shadows. A wave of relief washed over him, and he let out a shaky breath. But the relief was short-lived. A cold, vice-like grip suddenly clamped down on his shoulder from above.
03:32He spun around. He spun around with a yell, but there was no one there. The room was empty. Then, with a loud snap, the lights went out, plunging him into absolute blackness.
03:47He stood frozen, paralyzed by fear. His phone screen lit up one last time. It was a video, playing automatically. The footage was from just seconds ago, filmed from behind him.
04:05It showed him standing in the dark, with a shadowy figure right behind him. Jason's breath hitched. He slowly, ever so slowly, turned his head. A dark shape was now inches from his face.
