04:09See, the Ministry of Civil Aviation through DGCA had, they wanted to implement the new rules for crew rest so that there is no pilot fatigue and crew fatigue and they had about one, more than one year back, they had asked all the airlines to change their roster accordingly.
04:29Now, one year was more than enough. Kasa Air, Kasa Air, Spice Jet, Air India, Air India Express, they all adjusted their crew rest and their roasters according to the directives of the government.
04:50Somehow, Indigo defied this and did not do anything. Now, they are a very big airline, they are a cash rich airline.
04:59So, they should have recruited the people or cut at least 5 or 10% of their operations.
05:07But rather than doing that, they resorted to an illegal thing which resulted in not only the public surfing very badly, but even their image going down and their shares going down.
05:24So, they all of a sudden, you know, stopped about 1,000 flights.
05:29Just to teach the government a lesson and force them to take back their directive, which unfortunately, and I am happy that the Civil Aviation Minister and the DGCA did not make it an ego issue.
05:46In order to help the traveling public, they issued this directive and they allowed, you know, the rules to be relaxed till February.
05:59And every 15 days, they have to give them, you know, notice at what they have done and what progress they have made.
06:08So, this was a deliberate attempt.
06:11But thousands and thousands of people have suffered.
06:15There were, we all have seen on the television, children in the arms of small young mothers, 3-year, 4-year-old children, not able to get milk, not able to get water.
06:27And a lot of old people were stranded.
06:30There was no place in the airports to sit.
06:33And baggage has been lost for hundreds of people.
06:37Until now, the baggage has not been found.
06:39And I hope that Indigo now is able to resolve and put their house in order because people have really suffered.
