00:00I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
00:30Welcome again to the big match.
00:45Well, goals aren't everything in football, but they certainly help.
00:47And on today's programme, we've no fewer than 28 for you.
00:51They'll come up from our three games,
00:52the London derby match between Arsenal and West Ham,
00:55the crucial second division clash between Notts County and Blackpool,
00:57and the match from the top of the fourth that provided another six goals,
01:01that's Leeds Northampton against Bournemouth.
01:04Add to that the first showing of our Golden Goals collection for 1976,
01:07the 12 best goals of the season from which we shall choose our final six.
01:11So there's some really explosive action coming up there.
01:15That's how then we've got 28 goals for you in the coming hour.
01:17But first of all, let's go across to Highbury,
01:20where two of the most inspiring captains in the first division are in opposition.
01:23Alan Ball of Arsenal, who claims his club have now turned the corner to better things,
01:26and Billy Bonds of West Ham, what a difference he's made
01:29since his return from injury, particularly in Europe.
01:32So then let's catch up on the two teams for the game today.
01:35And the Arsenal side, first of all, under Alan Ball, unchanged.
01:39They've not been beaten in the last five games.
01:40Relegation worries behind them.
01:42Trevor Ross, the young number four, keeps his place,
01:44and Frank Stapleton is the sub.
01:46Not so simple, though, for West Ham.
01:47Padden, McDowell and Holland are injured.
01:49There was a doubt, too, about Tommy Taylor at five.
01:51He may not be fully fit, in fact.
01:53But these setbacks give another chance at number eight to 18-year-old Alan Kerbishley.
01:58The referee, Kevin McNally, from Cheshire, his first visit to Highbury, in fact.
02:01And now we wait for him to get the game underway.
02:04So West Ham get us away in white shirts and light blue shorts,
02:07attacking the goal to our left.
02:10Against Arsenal in their familiar red and white shirts.
02:14And Arsenal with a very formidable record here to preserve.
02:18They last conceded the goal at home on December the 6th.
02:23Played 635 minutes since then.
02:25Seven matches without conceding one here at Highbury.
02:29And although their relegation fears have virtually gone now,
02:34and indeed West Ham's championship hopes have virtually gone,
02:36there's still an immense amount of pride, as there always is,
02:39when two London sides meet in a derby game.
02:43Here's Mervyn Day.
02:44Certainly if West Ham are going to score a goal,
02:53it might as well be a spectacular one to beat this Arsenal record,
02:56like the one that Frank Lampard scored on Wednesday against Den Haag.
03:04Coleman, in for Billy Bonds.
03:07Brooking.
03:09Such a magnificent game against the Dutchman.
03:11And here's Keith Robson.
03:13A bit of space here now for Lampard.
03:17Taylor slipping that tackle and the ball going past Mancini as well.
03:21Robson hitting that one.
03:22The linesman flagging on this side for offside against Billy Jennings.
03:26A free kick to Arsenal.
03:31Nelson.
03:33Coleman putting a little bit of a push there on Brian Kidd.
03:38Arsenal's free kick.
03:41Lampard telling Taylor to go upfield as this free kick comes in.
03:56And finds John Radford now.
03:58Going aside for so long, but back to good effect now.
04:01Oh, Armstrong and Echo.
04:03Ball with a shot.
04:03Back to go.
04:06Exactly two minutes gone.
04:08Alan Ball with a score.
04:17That, they were handed me on the far side.
04:19And when the ball came floating in,
04:22the West Ham defence, best known to themselves,
04:24allowed that to go right the way through to Alan Ball,
04:26completely unmarked.
04:28Past Mervyn Day.
04:30Arsenal 1, West Ham United 0.
04:32Two minutes gone.
04:33Well, West Ham arrived here as the heroes
04:43after that magnificent performance against Den Haag.
04:47It's Arsenal who are getting the cheers now,
04:50particularly their skipper Alan Ball.
04:53Eighth goal of the season now for him.
04:54Kervisny.
05:04Second chance.
05:07That's not a bad one.
05:08Coleman right in there.
05:09And Rimmer could have been fooled by that,
05:12but he was nicely placed again.
05:13And a tremendous run in there by Coleman.
05:15He was hurt.
05:22And Taylor turns it,
05:23or rather it's Kervisny who eventually turns it into touch.
05:34Well, Coleman will go on.
05:35It was certainly a brilliant run that took him into that situation.
05:39Here's Keith Robson.
05:40It's not a bad cross either.
06:09Weiss right in there.
06:12Brady right in there.
06:13Kidd might get a shot.
06:15And Brookin denied him everything.
06:17And a penalty.
06:18Penalty given.
06:21Could only have been a foul there by Brookin, presumably, on Kidd.
06:25But the penalty was given
06:26without a moment's hesitation by a referee who was well placed.
06:30So, Mervin Day again faces Alan Ball from about the sort of range
06:38from which Ball scored after two minutes.
06:41But now it's a simple matter of ball against Day.
06:44And he's changed it.
06:50Armstrong back in there.
06:52And Ball couldn't quite turn it in.
06:54And a free kick this time given to West Ham.
06:57A magnificent penalty save though
06:59by Mervin Day from Alan Ball.
07:05Well, a fairly incident-filled first 13 minutes of the game.
07:10And Mick McGuven is coming on
07:12and Keith Coleman is going off.
07:14So, Keith Coleman has gone
07:18and shoulder injury that he had a few moments ago
07:20obviously has upset him.
07:23And here's Mick McGuven on.
07:24Defender off for defender on.
07:30Taylor.
07:35Tremendous acceleration.
07:36Now finding Brookin.
07:40Tried a little curler there to Billy Jennings.
07:42And it's there by Jennings.
07:441-1.
07:52The delight on the West Ham faces
07:54did all stem from a great challenging run by Alan Taylor.
07:58A flick to Trevor Brookin
07:59and a lovely curled toss by Trevor Brookin.
08:02Billy Jennings was up.
08:05And that put it past Jimmy Remy
08:07and made it 1-1.
08:10Arsenal 1, West Ham 1.
08:12With 24 minutes gone
08:15Billy Jennings, the man who scored it.
08:18And the man who made it, Trevor Brookin.
08:24Taylor.
08:25Touch for Kervishly.
08:26A beautiful touch there by Kervishly
08:28for Lampard.
08:31Mancini.
08:33Half-beaten there,
08:34but Kervishly couldn't make anything of it
08:36in his break.
08:38Rice.
08:38Nelson.
08:46Bradford.
08:48Armstrong.
08:49Armstrong.
08:57Oh, what a delicate little chip there now for Ross.
09:01Turned in again.
09:02A diving hitter by Radford, well saved by Boving Day.
09:08Nice little chip there from Trevor Ross.
09:12Radford diving hit on day save.
09:17Taylor went tumbling,
09:18but I think he caught the back of Mancini's heel.
09:20He came back quickly enough at the big Arsenal number five.
09:26And Liam Brady with it.
09:28Long one there.
09:28Mancini had come up for it.
09:30Now Kidd.
09:31And another penalty.
09:35Kidd brought down,
09:37and Arsenal get another penalty.
09:38Ball versus Day part two.
09:45Kidd is still down.
09:48Don't think he'll be badly hurt.
09:50But certainly it's going to add to the tension of the moment
09:52for two people in particular.
09:55Alan Ball has just said a little prayer.
09:57And he's got to face
10:01Mervyn Day again.
10:05Well.
10:08Now the question going through Alan Ball's mind at the moment
10:11must be,
10:12shall I put it the same way again?
10:15Mervyn Day
10:16saying to himself,
10:19which way shall I go now?
10:22Brian Kidd is coming outside the penalty area.
10:25Now.
10:28Is it going to be 1-1?
10:30Or is it going to be 2-1 to Arsenal?
10:33It's 2-1 to Arsenal!
10:37He sent it the other way.
10:40Ball sent it the other way.
10:43Day guessed correctly.
10:45But Ball's shot was too short for him.
10:48Into the back of the net.
10:50Arsenal two.
10:51West Ham one.
10:57Well Day had no chance with that.
11:01Alan Ball,
11:02a perfect penalty.
11:14Now Billy Barnes for West Ham.
11:16Oh, and he hit that string.
11:20George Armstrong, now here's a chance for Armstrong, and it's time to win, two goals in a minute,
11:31have completely undone West Ham, well there was a wild smashing kick in that West Ham defence that
11:40gave the ball away, Armstrong took it, took on the defender, took it well, found his angle,
11:47and beat Dave as he came out, Arsenal 3, West Ham won,
12:00well it was a match, Arsenal won 3-0 last year, 3-1 up now, what a turnabout in the space of a minute,
12:07Robson,
12:13Arsenal have not scored more than one goal in the last 11 matches,
12:18have now chosen this derby game to please their coach, Bobby Campbell on the left,
12:24now Brady,
12:29held onto that ball well, shielded it beautifully, and did just what he wanted to do,
12:33by finding Nelson, Mancini, planting it forward again for Alan Ball,
12:37really has reveled in this first half as ball, and here's Nelson, and an obstruction there by Lampard,
12:42giving Arsenal an interesting free kick, which they want to take quickly,
12:45they'll have to take from the right place,
12:49injury time now, we played nearly a minute of it at the end of the first half,
12:52Brady's going to take this one, Mancini's right in there, jockeying for position,
13:05curl in there to Rafford, hit the crossbar,
13:08and Kidd, has he given it, yes, he's given the goal,
13:13Brian Kidd has scored number four for Arsenal, right on the stroke of half time,
13:19Brady curling that free kick in,
13:26Bradford getting up well, and hitting the crossbar,
13:28and Kidd a superhuman jump,
13:31to turn it just over the line, before Mervyn Day could claw in it,
13:35Arsenal four, West Ham one, an incredible half time score line that's going to be,
13:40remember of course that West Ham come without Patton, without Holland and McDowell in defence,
13:49and at times it really has shown, but Arsenal playing with so much confidence,
13:55and a lot of teamwork, and when you consider that they are this 4-1 ahead, and they've missed a penalty,
14:01there goes the half time whistle, and what a good first half for Arsenal, and for Alan Ball,
14:19one from the penalty, one after two minutes, one penalty saved by Mervyn Day,
14:23Arsenal also scoring through George Armstrong, the number seven, and the number ten, Brian Kidd,
14:30West Ham's sole reply, coming from their number nine, Billy Jennings.
14:35Well, no lack of incident, in a really sparkling first half, and let's hope that's continued in the second half,
14:41we take a short break now, the half time score at Highbury, really bubbling at the moment,
14:46Arsenal four, West Ham one, we'll be right back with the second half.
14:53So, Arsenal now preparing to get us away at the start of the second half,
15:074-1 into the lead, West Ham's last away win at Birmingham in November,
15:14they've won only one of their last 14 league games, none of the last nine,
15:17goodness, it's going to be a comeback if they can do it, here at Highbury this afternoon,
15:23here's Jimmy Rimmer with the clearance,
15:29Radford,
15:32Armstrong,
15:33Oh, Radford, look at the space Radford had there, and it took a very good save from Mervyn Day.
15:42Oh, there was an amazing gap there in the West Ham penalty area,
15:46giving Arsenal that chance of a shot, and a good save by Day.
15:51It's real ball.
15:55Armstrong a good.
15:56Kidd, and that's another one!
16:10Awesome, stopping defence there again by West Ham.
16:14Wall and Armstrong making a good combination down that right touchline,
16:19after a quickly taken free kick.
16:23Kidd making it, Day possibly at fourth there.
16:27Arsenal five, West Ham one.
16:33Second goal for Brian Kidd, two players now on a hat-trick for Arsenal, Kidd and Bull.
16:49Oh, there, on Trevor Brookings, a free kick.
17:02To West Ham.
17:14Brookings chipped it very delicately, but Pat Rice got that away.
17:18Oh, and what a great shot there by Lampard.
17:22Turned away superbly by Jimmy Riddler.
17:26Doesn't score that many goes, Lampard, he really likes that one.
17:31And Jennings then, nodding it down, only to have it headed away.
17:36Well, a tremendous shot there by Lampard.
17:39Fisted away superbly by Jimmy Riddler.
17:41And then when the ball came back in again,
17:46it put Arsenal under tremendous pressure once more.
17:50Here's the corner by Brookings.
17:52And Seniors header away.
17:53Noted back by Kermishly, a fist away by Rimmer.
17:56And a lot of action now at both ends.
18:01And Arsenal want to bring their substitute Frank Stableton on.
18:07And it's Pat Rice who's coming on.
18:11Well, Frank Stableton, a striker, goes on.
18:13And Pat Rice limping off there.
18:17An injury to his left leg by the look of it.
18:22Bonds.
18:25Bonds going in.
18:26Robson going in.
18:29And a foul by Mancini on Keith Robson.
18:31And Mancini being called across to referee Kevin McNally.
18:43Quite a happy chat.
18:45Both putting their own points of view.
18:48Shouldn't make it do well.
18:50That's what he's saying.
18:55Quickly taken.
18:56It's come to Brookings.
18:58It's straight at Armstrong.
19:01That's what he's saying.
19:04Lampard.
19:06Jennings.
19:11Well, that might ricochet nicely now for Keith Robson.
19:14This could be it for Robson, huh?
19:17Well, that should have been goal number two for West Ham.
19:20Or it could have been after that ricochet put it into the path of Robson.
19:24Took aim.
19:25Blasted it.
19:27But why did they go?
19:31West Ham had such a long thrust towards the championship.
19:59But after their bad run in recent weeks, they've now dropped to 12th.
20:03And Arsenal after their good recent run have come up to 16th with only three points separating them.
20:08And now here's Brian Kidd on a hat-trick.
20:10Stopped by Mervin Day.
20:11A good save.
20:28And one from McGibbon straight to Ball comes down to Stapleton.
20:31Radford unmarked on the right-hand side there.
20:34Radford on it.
20:34Another very good save indeed by Mervin Day.
20:40A lovely quick break again by Arsenal.
20:43And Radford showing tremendous zest and acceleration there.
20:46And a really good, powerful shot.
20:49Well saved by Mervin Day.
20:52Here's the corner with George Armstrong to take it.
20:54And Lampard heading it away.
21:04That would have crept just in.
21:07Crooking away.
21:08Billy Jennings after it.
21:10Again Trevor Ross.
21:12Riley really has had a good day.
21:15Ball.
21:15A touch off there for Brady.
21:16Through for Ball again.
21:18And this could be the next one.
21:19And it is a head-trick.
21:20But no.
21:21This is now.
21:22Offside and this is.
21:28And they've already played again.
21:33Match in progress.
21:36Kidd turning that ball in.
21:39But not much doubt about it that he was offside.
21:44Now it's with Lenn.
21:48He's whetted the crowd's appetite.
21:55He's got them going a bit again.
21:57Brady.
21:59The academic second half.
22:00A bit of an anti-climax up to that point.
22:03Now Sporting an hour or so.
22:05But now Kidd.
22:07Still looking for that head-trick.
22:10And he won't get it back.
22:12Powerful shot.
22:14Complaining as players will always do that
22:16that there was at least a corner in it for them.
22:20But the referee disappeared.
22:29There goes Billy Jennings after that one.
22:31But Pauline kept his eye on the ball beautifully.
22:37Lampard turning up and away.
22:38Stable in.
22:57Ball.
22:58Brady.
22:59Fowling.
23:01Straight at Jennings.
23:02Taylor.
23:05Ball in first again.
23:06Mancini.
23:13Bradford turning it on towards Kidd.
23:14Now there's Kidd.
23:15Oh!
23:15That's one.
23:17Well, that's twice he's been so close to that hat-trick.
23:22Bradford turned that one on nicely.
23:23Kidd was on it like a flash.
23:26Tremendous shot.
23:29Hitting the rest hand.
23:29Oh, play through to Kidd again.
23:46Now, will it be the hat-trick this time?
23:48Time it is!
23:53And number six for Arsenal.
23:54And a day of great sorrow for Verminday and West Ham.
24:00Six foot past them.
24:01Three of them by the number ten, Brian King.
24:05A lovely ball that time from Alan Ball.
24:07And there they are, hugging each other.
24:10The men have made that goal.
24:11Balls past.
24:12Kidd running on to it beautifully.
24:15Left-footed.
24:16Past Verminday.
24:17Arsenal six.
24:18West Ham one.
24:21Patrick Mann is Brian King.
24:24Arsenal six.
24:39Barnes trying to make something of that.
24:49Well, a really remarkable performance by Arsenal.
24:51even allowing for the fact that West Ham
24:54had a very hard European game on Wednesday
24:57and that's the direction their thoughts are taking at the moment
25:01Alan Ball was saying before the start
25:05it's a test of our better form over the last few weeks
25:08as to what we can do against West Ham today
25:10and they really have done well
25:12Brady trying to flick that one for Stapleton
25:16and a goal kick
25:17I must say managers never show their feelings outwardly
25:28I would have thought Bernie May up on the left hand side with a hat
25:31must be fairly happy with things
25:34as opposed to Ron Greenwood bottom left there
25:36beside 6-1 now
25:47really have got the taste for it at the moment Arsenal
25:54none more so than Alan Ball
25:56chasing everything
25:58it's a sort of afternoon that West Ham can't wait to come to an end now
26:09and I would have thought one that Arsenal would want to go on forever
26:12but now it is all over
26:13fine performance by Arsenal
26:15particularly from Brian Kidd with three goals to his name
26:19two going to Alan Ball
26:21one going to George Armstrong as well
26:23and six times Mervin Day had to pick the ball out of the back of the net
26:27so while West Ham's gaze was averted towards Europe
26:31they find themselves hit for 6-0 by Arsenal this afternoon
26:35the Arsenal fans applauding their team off the field
26:39which is nice to see and to hear
26:41because in fact
26:43it's been a fairly miserable season at Highbury for so long
26:46certainly their play today matched the sunshine
26:50and a final scoreline then at Highbury
26:53Arsenal 6 West Ham 1
26:57what a remarkable afternoon's football
27:01and I must tell you a little story that makes it I think a little more remarkable still
27:04Alan Ball woke up yesterday feeling a little under the weather
27:07so he took a couple of aspirins
27:08only to find that after he'd taken them that they were in fact sleeping pills
27:12so before the match there he was in a cold bath at Highbury
27:15trying to wake himself up
27:16and as you saw he did it to very good effect with two goals
27:19one after only two minutes it must have worked
27:21now while it's true that West Ham were weakened
27:23and perhaps have Europe as their number one target
27:26I think it would be quite wrong to undersell the quality of Arsenal's performance yesterday
27:29they played well
27:30and nobody had a more successful afternoon than the hat-trick man
27:33Brian Kidd
27:34and I suggested that it must have been the happiest day of the season for him
27:37and Arsenal
27:38it was Brian especially with
27:40in recent weeks
27:42I think that's the sixth game now
27:44we've only dropped a couple of points in that
27:46and really we was fighting against relegation
27:49a matter of three or four weeks ago
27:51so everything's came right at the right time
27:52I thought your hat-trick was never going to come
27:54you got two and then you seemed to do everything but score after that
27:57well the lads were making that many chances for me
27:59I was confident it was going to come
28:02not the first hat-trick you've scored of course for Arsenal is it
28:05no last year was in the cup against York City
28:07Alan Ball was saying before the start today
28:09he said I think you'll see a difference
28:10we seem to have turned the corner
28:12I mean 6-1 obviously speaks for itself
28:14but overall do you feel that Arsenal have turned the corner now
28:16yes
28:18myself personally I thought when we went up and played Middlesbrough
28:22I didn't think we got the credit we deserved up there
28:24because we played really some very good patient football
28:27especially playing against Middlesbrough
28:28because they had five at the back
28:30and that was when I really felt confident
28:33when we went up to Middlesbrough and we got the two points
28:34we was never in any danger of losing the two points up there
28:38what about West Ham today
28:40I think a lot of people will feel that their eyes are more on Europe
28:43than they are on Football League games now
28:45did you sense any lack of competitiveness about them at all?
28:48not really I don't think you could say that about West Ham
28:50because we had a game also in midweek where we needed the points
28:53obviously being near the wrong end of the table
28:55I think that would be taking the credit away from Arsenal and the lads
28:59two little controversial points
29:01your goal just before half-time
29:02it did cross the line you reckon?
29:04yeah I was glad the linesman gave it
29:06yeah he was over I think he'll concede by the telly anyway
29:09and what did you say when the skipper missed a penalty?
29:12and what did he say?
29:14I think if you were to ask the lads
29:15we'd all have a bet that Barley wouldn't miss a penalty
29:17because I lay 6-4 it's the stanchion
29:19that's how confident I am with him
29:22does he normally put them out
29:23he put them the other side the second one
29:25and that did hit the stanchion didn't it?
29:27he varies them both sides
29:28that's how good he is
29:29both stanchions
29:30no I was very surprised
29:32but there again when he took the second one
29:34it shows you the character of the man
29:35to come up and nonchalantly take that
29:37and send him the wrong way
29:38I think was it
29:39sent him the wrong way
29:40a real day to savour though today for you?
29:42I would think so for the lads also
29:44when we're going away to Bournemouth for a couple of days
29:45so it'll be more enjoyable now
29:47Brian
29:47well in fact the pictures don't really point out
29:50whether or not Brian Kidd's header did cross the line
29:52or not just before half-time
29:53but you have to add that the linesman was perfectly placed
29:56and he was the man who signalled that in fact it was a good goal
29:58but the Arsenal penalties
29:59they came at a crucial time in the game
30:01I think we ought to clear up any controversy about them now
30:04in fact Brian Kidd was involved in both of them
30:05here's the first one coming up now
30:07where he's challenged by Tommy Taylor
30:09not Trevor Brookings as I said earlier
30:10and you can see Tommy Taylor
30:11just gets his right knee
30:13I think in the groin of Brian Kidd there
30:15brings him down
30:17and look at the placing of the referee
30:18he couldn't have been better placed to see it
30:20the second one
30:21perhaps a little more problematical
30:23Brian Kidd again taking possession here
30:25and it's the challenge from Frank Lampard
30:27coming up now
30:27there
30:28there's a contact made
30:30although it's a rather delayed fall there
30:32by Brian Kidd
30:33that may be a little more problematical
30:36but I think maybe the referee was right
30:37to give both those penalties
30:38our second match today
30:49more goals at Notts County
30:51who started the day just about in the running
30:53for a shout at promotion
30:54provided they could keep a winning run going
30:56against Blackpool
30:57at Meadow Lane Nottingham
30:59the pictures come from ATV
31:00the commentators Hugh Johns
31:01Notts County are in the stripes
31:03Stubbs
31:10is chasing it
31:12to have a second bite
31:13it's a mile away from it
31:15Rainsco
31:19winning the throw in
31:20for Evanston
31:24looking for Walsh
31:29and that's Smith
31:30and that's 1-0 Blackpool
31:32two minutes into the second half
31:35a shot goal then
31:37Evanston curling that ball in
31:41Smith jumped for it
31:43Stubbs
31:44lost it in the air
31:46and when it came down
31:47Malcolm Smith tapped in
31:48a very simple goal
31:51his fourth
31:51since he came to the club
31:53on loan from Middlesbrough
31:541-0
31:55Ainsco going through the middle
31:59well trapped by Brindley
32:02had to be right
32:04and he laid it off well
32:05Stubbs
32:06that was not a good one
32:09McVay
32:11that's a fine ball
32:14for Mann
32:16and it's in there
32:21well that's an incredible
32:24narrow angle goal
32:25for number 10
32:27of the man
32:281-1
32:29nine minutes into the game
32:31are the man's first goal
32:33of the season
32:34I only think that must have taken
32:36some sort of a deflection
32:37maybe off goalkeeper George Wood
32:40but now there's two angles
32:42and Mann
32:43belts in the equaliser
32:45in for Scammer
32:47robbed
32:48and it's Ainsco
32:52Ainsco when he first came
32:55into the side
32:55was labelled the new
32:56Allen ball for Blackpool
32:58oh and a ball thrown back
32:59to Smith
33:00and he's still there
33:02and it is 2-1
33:03it is 2-1
33:06and Smith's got his second goal
33:08in the way 15 minutes
33:09into the game
33:09tragedy for Nodzkowdy
33:13absolutely
33:14diabolical blunders
33:16the ball pass back
33:19not taken clean
33:21by the goalkeeper
33:22and Smith says
33:24thank you very much
33:25pick that one out
33:262-1 Blackpool
33:27and that could well be a defeat
33:29that's just about finished
33:30Nodzkowdy's hopes of promotion
33:32but now sit back
33:34and enjoy some really
33:34explosive action
33:35as we bring you
33:36the 12 best goals
33:37of the big match season
33:38it's a prelude really
33:39to our Golden Goals competition
33:41when we have to cut
33:41this list of 12
33:42down to a final 6
33:44and we shall do that
33:45in time for next Sunday's programme
33:46when we shall also be telling you
33:47how to set about voting
33:48for Golden Goals
33:49today
33:50you've got nothing to do
33:51except to enjoy
33:52these 12 goals
33:53and we start back in August
33:54to move through
33:55to this month
33:56so goal number one
33:57is by Brian Bassan
33:58of Chelsea
33:59in the game against Carlisle
34:00with Bassan outside him
34:03played for Charlie Cook
34:09back for Graham Wilkins
34:11Bassan hobbling
34:14badly at the moment now
34:15they've got Maybank
34:16already off the field
34:17injured a moment ago
34:18and Brian Bassan
34:19hobbling very badly
34:20in possession now
34:21obviously in some discomfort
34:23oh oh but what a goal
34:24goal number two
34:29by Mick Barry
34:29for Carlisle
34:30it came in the same match
34:31against Chelsea
34:32at Stamford Bridge
34:34now a trade
34:36Carlisle by now
34:38I would have thought
34:39pretty demoralised
34:40they offered a fair bit
34:42particularly in the opening
34:4220 minutes
34:43when they came forward
34:44with a lot of aggression
34:45and purpose
34:45oh and there's a great goal
34:47oh my goodness
34:48what a goal
34:49by Barry
34:50goal number three

34:56at Upton Park
34:57down far
34:58put out a little bit
35:00there by Cockle's face

35:10that day has got
35:11and Taylor is after it
35:12and he might get there
35:13yes

35:21at Holland
35:27to pick up Brookie
35:28oh what a nice bit of work
35:31what a good goal
35:32what a good goal
35:33that wasn't even
35:34a opportunity of saying
35:36what a good shot
35:37that was a goal
35:38for the time
35:38it left Brookings Street
35:39goal number five
35:41this is Alan Woodward's goal

35:48aim for Guthrie
35:49didn't come to it
35:49a little whack
35:52after the ball
35:53had gone
35:53on Guthrie
35:55introducing the free kick
35:56Tony Curry
35:57rolling it for Woodward
35:58that's a good one

36:15into the goal
36:16as Thompson

38:33will take this kick
38:34is this going to be
38:37a problem for
38:38Crystal Palace
38:38it's not
38:39because Hammond
38:40is there
38:40and look at that
38:42for a good throw
38:43straight into the path
38:44of Peter Taylor
38:45Whittle is up
38:45with him as well
38:46Taylor taking on
38:48Bolton
38:48Moncure getting in
38:50behind Bolton
38:50and he needs to
38:52he's going past
38:54Moncure as well
38:55there's the cross
38:55coming in
38:56Whittle a goal
38:57Alan Whittle
38:58what marvellous
39:00goals he had there
39:01and what a job
39:01we're going to have
39:02cutting them down
39:03to the final six
39:04to present to you
39:04next Sunday
39:05and our last match
39:16today is quite
39:17remarkable
39:17more than anything
39:18because all six goals
39:19came in the first half
39:20five of them
39:21in the last eight minutes
39:22before the interval
39:23as fourth division
39:23leaders Northampton Town
39:24took on Bournemouth
39:25at Northampton
39:26pictures from Anglia
39:27the commentator
39:28Jerry Harris
39:29in Northampton Town

39:32Battle
39:34Goddard
39:36Hague
39:46in goes Martin
39:49Best
39:51Stratford going forward
39:53with Payne
39:54little push there
39:56but Payne's first
39:58and Payne goes wide
40:00if he's required
40:03by the goalkeeper
40:03which he isn't
40:04Gregory
40:13and Goddard
40:15and it's a Bournemouth throw
40:17John Benson
40:19and Fred Davis
40:21on that bench
40:22just immediately
40:23in front of us
40:23now Bournemouth
40:31pushing more players
40:32up for this one
40:32including
40:35centre-half
40:36Morgan
40:37this is Battle
40:38Morgan's on the edge
40:40of the area
40:40as Miller is well
40:41challenged by Best
40:42and
40:44the centre-half
40:45is absent
40:46can Jim Hall
40:46get through
40:47his pass play
40:48Jim Hall
40:49what a great goal
40:50goalkeeper left
40:59with no chance
41:00there
41:00badly exposed
41:02well interesting
41:03it all started
41:05from the free kick
41:06on the left
41:06which seemed to be
41:08building up well
41:08with Stuart Morgan
41:09getting up into
41:10attacking position
41:11but Best did a great
41:12job there
41:13by getting the ball
41:14away from Bournemouth
41:15it was eventually
41:15fed through the
41:16Jim Hall
41:17and on that left foot
41:18in it goes
41:19Jim Hall
41:24with Morgan
41:25his Stratford
41:26away goes
41:27Farrington
41:28it's a good move
41:29and it's down
41:31coming up
41:33fast on the inside
41:34Billy Best
41:35well that was
41:42a good looking move
41:43driven down the middle
41:46the flick on
41:48put Farrington
41:50in the good position
41:51an awkward
41:52bouncing ball
41:53he did well
41:53to hit it
41:54and find the target
41:55the goalkeeper
41:56couldn't gather it
41:56and Best
41:57coming up
41:58very fast
41:58to add support
41:59knocks it in
42:002-0
42:00Phillips now
42:02Hall's the only one
42:04up front
42:05Stratford's gone
42:06up to help
42:06Phillips against
42:08Grapes
42:09Hall
42:10against Morgan
42:12against Morgan
42:12he's lost him
42:15and there's
42:16Stratford
42:17there's Alden
42:18best again
42:20well extraordinary
42:26he keeps popping up
42:32in exactly the right
42:33position
42:33with perhaps a
42:34fraction of luck
42:35there
42:35when Jim Hall
42:36turned Morgan
42:37inside out
42:38the driven cross
42:39was flicked on
42:39by Paul Stratford
42:40straight to Best
42:42and he didn't
42:42waste any time
42:43right past
42:44the goalkeeper
42:45number 3
42:46and one for Martin
42:53off the back
42:53of Payne
42:54Stratford
42:55past him
42:58now Morgan
42:59Stratford's going
43:01well
43:01no foul
43:02says Mr Spencer
43:03here's Reeves
43:08Tucker
43:11Martin
43:13and so good
43:15one into space
43:15for Best
43:16is he going
43:16for the hat-trick
43:16here
43:17didn't drop
43:18quite right
43:18for him
43:19he's really got
43:20the taste up
43:21there
43:21and a lot of
43:22space for
43:23Farrington
43:23Best stays
43:24in the penalty
43:25area
43:25Jim Hall
43:26over the far
43:26post
43:27this is Farrington
43:28and
43:28Morgan
43:30got a shot
43:31in that
43:31wasn't far
43:31away
43:32and Bournemouth
43:36their defence
43:38seems to be
43:39in ruins
43:39here
43:39Robertson
43:42now Stratford
43:44Hall
43:46turning against
43:47Morgan
43:48still manages
43:49to keep it
43:50but Howard
43:51gets away
43:51and here's
43:53Hall
43:53is on his
43:53left foot
43:53again
43:54and there
44:02carving
44:02them up
44:03here
44:03poor old
44:06Kieran
44:06Baker
44:06doesn't know
44:07what's hitting
44:07they're coming
44:08at him
44:08from all angles
44:09and every
44:10shot's going
44:11in
44:11and a bit
44:13of perseverance
44:14by Hall
44:15got them
44:15through here
44:16and then
44:16as he kept
44:17going forward
44:18he took
44:18a good pass
44:19from Phillips
44:19and on
44:20that left foot
44:21he doesn't
44:21need much
44:22of a space
44:22to squeeze
44:23it in
44:23and it's
44:244-0
44:24now Phillips
44:30strapped for
44:31the touch
44:32Howard
44:33and Grapes
44:35switch flanks
44:36Gregory
44:38doesn't need
44:39the challenge
44:40because he's
44:40taking it
44:40over the line
44:41Butler
44:51Farrington
44:52still coming
44:52there's Hall
44:53that's a hat
44:55trick
44:55well what an
45:01extraordinary
45:02finish to this
45:02half
45:03and that again
45:09was casualness
45:10by the Bournemouth
45:10defence
45:11exploited by
45:12the speed
45:13and enthusiasm
45:13first of all
45:14of Farrington
45:15who really came
45:16in hard and fast
45:17behind Butler
45:18he gets the
45:18crossover
45:19and although
45:20off balance
45:20Jim Hall
45:21gets it in
45:22and that's
45:234 goals
45:25in just over
45:267 minutes
45:26a hat trick
45:27for Jim Hall
45:28and a magnificent
45:29looking scoreline
45:30for Northampton
45:31and here goes
45:32McGowan
45:33Farrington's
45:33out there
45:34Butler
45:37to Grapes
45:38here's
45:44Bottle
45:45Phillips
45:46challenging
45:47in goes
45:48Robertson
45:49Best
45:55Hall
45:57and
45:58Stratford's
45:58going
45:58extraordinary
46:02it's
46:056
46:05but just
46:09have a look
46:09at that
46:10one again
46:10as it
46:11comes forward
46:11to Jim
46:12Hall
46:12and
46:13Stratford
46:13breaks
46:13does he
46:14control
46:14this
46:14with his
46:15right
46:15hand
46:15anyhow
46:16he gets
