00:00We have country music legend, George Strait.
00:03George, thank you very much.
00:07I'm going to do this right now, George.
00:13I think if you want to leave it on, you can.
00:15I think we can get it through.
00:17Oh, he's got good hair.
00:18A little bit.
00:19I'm surprised.
00:20Sometimes they take it off and there's not a lot.
00:22There's not a lot.
00:26Thank you, sir.
00:27Great star of Broadway.
00:31I've seen the show many times and other shows of his.

00:51And nobody did it like Gloria Gaynor.

00:57Now, that's a good head of hair.
01:04That's beautiful.

01:39That's great.
01:40I've been a friend for a long time.
01:42Thank you, Mr.
01:43That's good.

02:09Thank you very much.
02:17Those are great people.
02:19In a few moments, we will be presenting these stars with their Kennedy Center Honors Medallions,
02:27which were redesigned this year with the help of the fantastic team at Tiffany and Company.
02:34And I want to congratulate them.
02:36They have done a fantastic job.
02:38They're wonderful people.
02:39I know them very well because they're right next to Trump Tower.
02:42I've lived with them for many years.
02:44And they really have done a great job.
02:46So I want to thank Tiffany.
02:47Thank you very much.
02:48We're also joined by members of the Kennedy Center Board of Trustees who are doing a really great job.
02:54And, as you know, the building is being renovated, fully renovated.
03:04It's being, I would say, fixed at a level that nobody's ever seen before.
03:09We're going to make it something really special.
03:11It is.
03:11It's been tired.
03:13It's been mistreated a little bit like the White House has been mistreated, to be honest with you.
03:17And we're bringing it back to a level that I don't think any place in the country will see.
03:24We were given quite a bit of money by Congress to do the job.
03:32And we're doing it right.
03:34And you'll see the new marble and the renovated marble in all of the different rooms, major auditoriums.
03:41The sound is so fantastic.
03:42One of the very big prerequisites and something that doesn't happen often is when you have great sound, you take advantage of it.
03:50And the Kennedy Center has great, great sound.
03:52If they build it, fellas, you know this.
03:54Gloria, you will see it.
03:55We'll see you next time.
04:09We'll see you next time.
04:12We'll see you next time.
