00:00Trump says McDonald's stunt foreshadowed big win.
00:04Donald Trump reflected on an unusual moment from the 2024 campaign trail,
00:09telling attendees at the McDonald's Impact Summit in Washington, D.C.
00:13that serving French fries at a Pennsylvania restaurant
00:15made him feel confident about his electoral chances.
00:19I'm honored to stand before you as the very first former McDonald's fry cook
00:23ever to become president of the United States, Trump, 79, told the audience.
00:28According to USA Today, Trump described stepping behind the counter
00:32during an October 20, 2024, campaign stop in Feasterville, Pennsylvania,
00:38where he briefly worked the fryer.
00:40Trump described trying to make French fries at the line,
00:43mimicking the cook's technique, and said it was challenging but interesting.
00:47Calling the task a little complex,
00:49Trump said the line of customers stretched long that day.
00:52They had 25,000 people, so somebody let them know we were coming, he claimed.
00:57After helping with the fries, Trump said he moved to the drive-thru window to greet customers.
01:02He joked that people visiting were initially bored,
01:05but reacted so positively that it felt like he knew he would win.
01:09He added that the response was love, calling the experience great.
01:14Trump's recollection came days after the House Oversight Committee
01:16released thousands of documents from Jeffrey Epstein's estate,
01:20including email exchanges between Epstein and associates.
01:23In one message to Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein referred to Trump as
01:27that dog that hasn't barked, writing,
01:30redacted victim's name, spent hours at my house with him,
01:34he has never once been mentioned.
01:36Maxwell replied, I have been thinking about that.
01:39Epstein also wrote to biographer Michael Wolff about Trump's club, saying,
01:43Trump said he asked me to resign, never a member ever.
01:46He later added, of course, he knew about the girls.
01:49Responding to reporters after the emails became public, Trump said,
01:53I know nothing about that.
01:54They would have announced that a long time ago.
01:56He added, Jeffrey Epstein and I had a very bad relationship for many years.
