A political firestorm has erupted after Dr. Mehmet Oz, now serving in a federal administrative role, released a video alleging massive failures inside Minnesota’s Medicaid system. According to Oz, more than $1 billion in improper or fraudulent Medicaid payments occurred across several state-run programs, including Housing Stabilization Services and behavioral therapy reimbursements.

Oz claims state oversight under Governor Tim Walz was severely lacking and has demanded immediate corrective action. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has now issued strict requirements for Minnesota—including freezing high-risk provider enrollment, verifying current providers, and submitting weekly fraud-control updates.

The controversy has triggered statewide debate and national scrutiny as investigators work to determine the extent of fraud, how it occurred, and who is responsible for the oversight breakdown. CMS warns that if Minnesota fails to meet federal requirements within 60 days, the state could lose federal funding for affected programs.

00:19A Somali fraud ring in Minnesota stole over a billion dollars from Medicaid.
00:23How did this happen?
00:24Well, Medicaid programs are run by the states, which in Minnesota means the Tim Walz administration.
00:29Governor Walz and the state's other Democrats rely on Somali votes to get elected, so they
00:35decided to look the other way because they were afraid of quote-unquote political backlash.
00:41Don't take my word for it, that's what a Somali-American fraud investigator told the New York Times.
00:47When these scammers realized that nobody was guarding the cash register, they went gangbusters.
00:52One program designed to provide housing stabilization assistance to patients ballooned to $104 million.
00:59When four years ago, it was projected to cost only $2.6 million.
01:04Some of these taxpayer funds may have even ended up in the hands of a Somalian terrorist
01:09group.
01:10Scary stuff.
01:11When CMS became aware of the housing program situation, Minnesota insisted it could clean
01:16up its own mess.
01:17A few months ago, it admitted it could not.
01:20So we stepped in to shut down the fraud-infested housing initiative.
01:24Today, we're taking action on more than a dozen other programs, which I've outlined
01:29in the post below.

01:32Either fix this in 60 days, or start looking under your couch for spare change, because we
01:37are done footing the bill for your incompetence.
01:40This administration will never stop fighting to protect the vulnerable Americans who rely on
01:44these programs and the taxpayers who fund them.
