In the 1980s, Francis MBELLA set out in search of new forms of expression, inventing the Tapioca Technique and creating the Reflections of Color movement.
He received the Cultural Merit Award from the City of Paris in 1990 and from the State of California in 1994, and was awarded the same distinction in 2004 by the United Nations in Geneva. He has held more than 400 exhibitions and conferences around the world.
