00:00A 71-year-old woman was left terrified when her kitchen wall collapsed and part of her
00:06home nearly slid down a slope in a landslide caused by heavy rain at Kampung Orang Asli
00:12Batu Dua Berlas on Wednesday.
00:14Halima Yunos, one of 47 affected residents, said soil movement had been detected since
00:20November 25, but the latest incident around 7 p.m. made her home unsafe.
00:25Another resident, Mahadil Ali, 55, said it was the first landslide since the settlement
00:31opened in 1991, claiming water and construction debris from the uphill ECRL project may have
00:38worsened soil instability.
00:41Gormbark MP's Office Representative Hazmimi Johar said eight families were relocated with
00:46assistance from Jarkua, the district office and rescue agencies, and will stay at the
00:51relief centre until a safer site is identified, with aid to continue.
00:56The village is home to about 1,400 Orang Asli in 290 houses.

01:08call was received at 7.10 p.m. and a team found a 7.6-metre-high landslide spanning about
01:15100 square feet, affecting eight houses.
01:18No casualties were reported.
