00:13When the Real Time with Bill Maher host stopped by ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday,
00:18he said this of Macdonald.
00:19Huge fan, a guy who was not afraid to be too subtle.
00:24He did the jokes he wanted to do. I love that.
00:27Macdonald died Tuesday at the age of 61 after battling an undisclosed form of cancer for nearly a decade.
00:33The comedian's death shocked and devastated fans and friends.
00:37Maher maintained he was right to keep his illness private.
00:39I also loved that I found out that he died after he died.
00:44Because to me, show business, we're here for you. You're not here for us.
00:49Maher said he was, quote, not judging anybody,
00:51but he did not agree with stars who shared their health issues publicly.
00:54Sometimes the audience loves that. I've never been in that camp.
00:59I'm not here to burden you. I'm here to lighten your burden.
